Hi, Joann here with another card inspiration! Today's card is a shaker, I love shaker cards, there is just something about them that makes me super happy!
I started off with cutting out a top folding card at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 from some Neenah Solar White card stock and placing some designer MME Necessities Metallic paper sized at 4 x 5 1/4 on top. I embossed my sentiment on top using MFT You Were Meant to Sparkle Stamp Set, Versa Mark, and some Rose Embossing Powder.
To create the frame I used my ruler and paper trimmer to cut only the inside (the frame portion measures at 3 3/4 x 5). Now, I know many use foam adhesive to pop up their top layer for the shaker part, but I wanted to share something that I like to do instead. I bought this really inexpensive foam sheet from Michaels, I cut my stripes to fit my frame and glued them to the acetate sheet that's placed behind my frame (I'll be posting my first photo tutorial early next week on my blog to show what I'm explaining). This part made it much easier than having to cut each foam piece (depending on the kind you use) to fit the frame to keep the sequins in.
After cutting a few sequins out using MFT Die-namics Sequins I added and adhered a few sequins down and then placed my top layer down and added a heart from Amy Tangerine Bits Adhesive Chipboard Sticker after embossing it with some Aqua Zing Embossing Powder.
I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I did making it! Thanks for stopping by!
