Hello crafty friends!
Time to put forward your vote - what's your favorite - warm or cool? I've made two cards today with the simply gorgeous Concord & 9th "Just Because" stamp set and die set. I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it - it has such versatility and I know I will get great value from this set!
Time to put forward your vote - what's your favorite - warm or cool? I've made two cards today with the simply gorgeous Concord & 9th "Just Because" stamp set and die set. I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it - it has such versatility and I know I will get great value from this set!
I started these cards by creating the background watercolour pieces - one cool blue/green, one 'warm' pink/coral and one grey. To do this, I 'smooch' ink onto a piece of acetate, spray with water and then flip onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. For the 'cool' card I used Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxides and normal distress inks. For the 'warm' I used Abandoned coral, Worn lipstick and a little Squeezed lemonade Distress Oxides and inks.
I also did a piece with Hickory Smoke and Weathered Wood distress inks to create the grey piece. I 'smooched' each piece a number of times, drying each layer with a heat tool in between applications. This gave me 3 watercolour pieces.
To make each card, I used the
dies to cut the small rectangle, sentiment strips and leaves from the
green and pink pieces, using the dies from the set. I cut some leaves
from the grey piece too. I used silver foil paper for the 'cool' and
gold foil paper for the 'warm' and cut the thin frame and 'because'
sentiment die.
I embossed white card with a chevron folder to make two panels for the background layer. I backed both of these pieces with silver and gold foil card. I die cut a 'just' from each small rectangle as shown.
I stamped and embossed the sentiments in silver and gold and cut into sentiment strips, backing with white card. I assembled as shown, popping up the rectangles with 3D foam.
Do you have a favorite - cool or warm?? Wonder which one will win the vote count?
Thanks for visiting and see you again soon!
