Hey friends! Britney here with a super fun, beachy, summer card! I really enjoyed making this card and I must have been firing on all cylinders the day I made it because it came together so fast. I’ve also been IN LOVE with a lot of Mama Elephant’s newer items.
If you have read any of my posts before, you know I like to start with building my backgrounds first. I cut a panel of heavy white card stock using a Mama Elephant Hillside Cover. I taped off the border with some Post-It Note Tape. I wanted to keep that frame nice and white. Then, I masked off each of the hills while I was inking. I inked up the sand using Lawn Fawn Doe Inkand my water was Lawn Fawn Fish Tank Ink. I added some dot detail for my sand using a white gel pen.
After everything was dry, I used some clear ink and embossed my sentiment in white after attaching the panel to the card base. My sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Beach Chickies. Once my background was done, I started on the images I wanted to use. Of course, I has to use almost every one in the set. I used images from Mama Elephant Summer Splash stamp set. I inked up my images using Gina K Black Amalgam Ink and colored them with my Copics.
I added highlights with my white gel pen and accents to the eyes and things with a black glaze pen. I added a little Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard to the girl elephant’s swimsuit just for a little sparkle. I added glossy accents to the inflatable rings, beach ball, and the water in the baby elephant’s bucket for a nice shiny look.
I hope you enjoyed this fun, beach themed card as much as I enjoyed making it. It really makes me want to go to the beach. I hope you have a wonderful day and hope you join me again for another blog post.
