Happy Monday everyone! For today's blog post, I'm sharing an Outer Space themed Christmas card. Recently I was looking through my stamp sets, and I came across Lawn Fawn's Beam Me Up. I couldn't help but notice how much the UFOs reminded me of snowglobes. It didn't end up turning out the way I expected, but it was a fun challenge for myself to create a Christmas card with non-Christmas stamps!
To start, I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I cut out my images and colored them with alcohol markers. The stamps I used were from Lawn Fawn sets Frosty Fairy Friends, Booyah, Beam Me Up, Out of this World, Oh Gnome, and Christmas Dreams. I also customized the flower stamped from Booyah by adding sepals around the petals.
Next, I created the background on white cardstock. I blended Distress Ink Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, Mermaid Lagoon, and Cracked Pistachio randomly on the page to start creating a galaxy. Using my blending tools, I ink blended over the colors with Black Soot. For the stars/snow, I flicked some water and white paint on the background to add the finishing touches.
Lastly, I assembled the background to the card face using my tape runner. Once my background was together, I adhered my images to the scene with my Lawn Fawn glue tube. I didn't think there were enough snowflakes in the end, so I went back and added some with my gel pen.
You can find lots of the goodies I used for this card at the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop and you can find more creations by me on Instagram @CaveWomanCreations! In other news, I can't believe its December already, and I'm coming to the end of my DT term. BUT that means YOU could be NEXT!
