Hey friends, Britney here with my very first post for Butterfly Reflections Ink. I am super excited to be joining the design team with such wonderful and talented card makers. Are you guys getting graduation announcements like I am?! I have gotten several this year and I just couldn’t wait to make these upcoming graduates a cute card to go with their gift.
I absolutely love Lawn Fawn and I have been having so much fun with the new Magic Picture Changer die. I started out by using the Fancy Lattice Backdrop die. Using the same color paper, I cut a frame using the Magic Picture Changer Add-On die. Using a coordinating color, I cut the frame and pull tab included with the Magic Picture Changer and a piece to go behind the picture device (for lack of a better word).
Then it was time to get started on my image. I colored the Owl from the Jump for Joy stamp set using Copic markers. I masked my owl off and stenciled my background using the MFT Mini Cloud and Drifts & Hills stencils with distress oxides inks (Cracked Pistachio and Mowed Lawn).
For the next image, using the graduation cap first from the Simply Celebrate Spring stamp set, I masked off my cap and then stamped my Owl. I used the same technique as before to make my background and colored my images using Copic markers. I used a white gel pen to create highlights on my colored images.
I assembled my magic picture changer, cut four “Congrats” cut out of cardstock using the Scripty Congrats die, and threw a few coordinating sequins from my stash to finish off the front of my card. The one in red, white, and black, I used Nuvo Crystal Drops (Ebony Black, Red Berry, Gloss White) instead of sequins. For the inside, I stamped "Happy Graduation" using the Celebration Scripty Sentiments stamp set.
Now, I just need to get these puppies ready to mail. I hope you enjoyed reading about how I made this fun graduation card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
