Happy Friday, Everyone! It's been a few weeks since I posted on the blog, and I'm happy to be back. I hope you all got a chance to participate in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop last Friday. Personally, I prefer coffee ice cream to actual coffee, but then again, I could eat ice cream for every meal! You know what else I can't get enough of? These zodiac animals from Mama Elephant. You can make just about any kind of card with them. Today I made a fun holiday card using the Sheep, the Ox, and the Pig stamp sets.
First, I cut a panel of white card stock to 3.5"x8.5". I blended two Distress Oxide colors - Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio. I splattered the panel with water and white acrylic paint. I then cut the panel using the scallop die from the Slim Card Basics set and mounted it on a 3.5"x8.5" red card base.
Out of the same red paper, I cut the "falala" script word twice so that I could make it into "falalalala." I mounted both pieces on the card panel to make the word look seamless.
As for the cute critters, I stamped them on white card stock. I did do some masking with the santa hat, so that the hat really looked like it was sitting on each animal's head. I colored everything with Copic markers. The hat is part of the Pig set, the stocking comes from the Sheep set, and both the present and candy cane come from the Oh Kitty Tree stamp set. After cutting everything out, I popped them up on foam tape and adhered to my card panel.
To finish off the card, I added some sparkling clear sequins and some Aqua Shimmer to the present, stocking, and candy cane. I love how the card turned out, and I really hope you love it, too! Thanks for joining me again, and I will see you next week.
Wishing you a crafty day,
Allison
