Dragon Adventure

Hello crafty friends! Today I'll be sharing a magical mini slimline scene that's great for any event. Using non-specific sentiments is a great way to assure your cards can be used for lots of different occasions!

I started by stamping my images and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 120-pound white cardstock. I colored the stamped images using Copic Markers and Chameleon Pens. Afterward, I added some white gel pen accents.

Stamps Sets Used

  1. Ahoy, Matey
  2. Little Dragon
  3. Gnome Sweet Gnome
  4. Gleeful Gardens
  5. Oh Gnome
  6. You Are Sublime

To create the background, I cut out the Trinity Stamps Wonky Stitched Wilderness slimline die on 80-pound white cardstock. Then, I cut the slimline down to 7 " by 3-1/2". On another Wonky Stitched panel, I cut out two grass layers using Lawn Fawn Meadow Border dies

Next, I inked the sky with my blending brushes.  I started inking from the middle up using Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade, leaving room for the next two colors. Then, I blended in a small amount of Distress Oxide Milled Lavender followed by Distress Oxide Tattered Rose. This step may need to be repeated until you achieve a smooth blend. Later, I added clouds using more Distress Oxide Milled Lavender. To add extra texture to the sky, I flicked a mixture of water and Distress Oxide Dusty Concord onto the inked background. For the grass panels, I used Distress Oxide colors Pine Needles and Bundled Sage. Afterward, I splatted each panel using watered-down white acrylic paint.

Time for assembly! I like to start by gluing any overlapping images together. I use a small clear stamping block to weigh down the images, then wipe away and overflowing glue. I find that it saves me time and is a lot less messy.  Afterward, I adhere the images to their coordinating panels with my handy dandy Glue Tube. Using tape runner, I attached the front grass layer to the middle grass layer. Using double-sided foam tape, I attached the grass layers to the sky panel.

With the grass lifted with the foam tape, I slid in some mushrooms behind it. Then I added the sentiment using glue dots. I love using many different forms of adhesive because it helps add lots of dimension to the scene.  Lastly, I matted the scene and adhered it to my card blank. I've listed the measurements below and some other materials I used to make this card. Thanks for stopping by! 1. So love this. Just starting copics. I love the teal colors in here. Do you remember which copics they were? Building my wish list. :)
