Away We Go Layout

Hello! Samantha here again! And today I have another fun layout to share with lots of goodies from the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop ! (I'll go ahead and hold here while you shop for a while...*whistle*...) Ok! You're back, let's take a lookie-loo at my layout, shall we? First, I used some Distress Ink and a stencil to add those tone on tone triangles to the background of the page! Then I kept the stencil in the same spots, and used the Translucent Embossing Paste on top...the result is shiny, texture goodness! I love it! I also used some white embossing paste and a striped stencil to add some white stripes! Because...mixed media lite!! :) Ha! I used some tiny alpha stickers to create the names of the places (we were flying from South Carolina to California for Thanksgiving...I LOVE the stitched flight path of the wood veneer airplanes! Ha!). I also included some stamping on my layout...with Lawn Fawn, of course! :) I stamped the US map from the Wi

Guest Designer Sunday with Heather Pulvirenti

Hello and another happy Sunday to everyone! Today is the last post from our beyond talented and nice and amazing guest designer, Heather P! Please read below and feast your eyes on the beautiful card she created today! ______________________________________________________________ Hi, everyone!  Heather P.  here with another watercolor card using Distress Inks, they are so fun! To create my card, I started by stamping the hello greeting from  AveryElle's Peonies  set repeatedly in light gray ink onto a piece of white CS.  I then die cut a window shape from a piece of mint CS, then adhered it to the stamped background with pop dots before attaching it to a medium gray card base.   I then stamped the flower, leaf and vase images onto watercolor paper using Stazon gray ink, then colored them in with  Picked Raspberry , Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar,  Peacock Feathers  and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks.  While the images were drying, I stamped the green in Versafine ink

Hug Me! - Sharna W.

Hello again, Sharna! My card today is using the adorable new stamp set from WPlus9 Happy Mail along with one little birdy from the Party Animal set. They are all colored with the same warm grey copics w1-w5. The background is made using Distress ink in Marigold, Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord blended on watercolor card stock. The wave in front of that is made using the new Lawn Fawn wave dies. I then cut both out using the the second largest of the stitched ovals from Lawn Fawn.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the Happy Mail set on black card stock and popped that on foam dots. A Birthday Card using Altenew Sets

Hello friends, Today, I'm sharing a birthday card using Altenew stamp sets: Lacy Scrolls (with matching dies) and Birthday Greetings .   First, I die cut my frames (PTI), stamped the sentiment and the gray stripes.  Using Lacy Scrolls and matching dies , I made the flowers and green leaves.  Next, I created the shaker and adhered my flower at the corner.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine .   Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Tank You!

Good morning, Jessica here!  I am LOVING the most recent Lawn Fawn release!  The aquatic theme stamp sets are SO cute!  Today, I made a shaker card using Fintastic Friends ! To create my card I started off by stamping the critters and fish tank accessories with Versafine Onyx Black ink  and heat-embossing them with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper .  Then I colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and blended them with a watercolor brush.  I fussy cut all the critters so there wouldn't be a white border and added a little sparkle with my wink of stella clear glitter brush pen .  Next I used foam mounting tape and glue dots to adhere the fish to the tank.  The foam mounting tape gave some of the fish a little dimension!  I outlined the fish tank with foam mounting tape and filled it with 4mm sequins in various shades of blue and lots of white and clear seed beads.  I stamped the fish tank onto a piece of dark blue cardstock and used a craft knife to fus

Amazing

Hello, Rubeena here with two simple cards for you. I used some of the latest releases from Avery Elle and My Favorite things. I took MFT's Lace Background Stamp , stamped it on white cardstock with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I die-cut a rectangle size from it, smaller than A2 and then die-cut the center with MFT's Die-namics Pierced Fancy Flourish . I die-cut Avery Elle's Simply Said Amazing Elle-ments Die three times from pink cardstock and once from black cardstock. I glued them together using Glossy Accents . The first card was simple to put together: I glued down the fancy flourish die-cut in the center. I scored a frame around it with my scoring board. Then I added the 'Amazing' die-cut over it. I finished it off with black enamel dots. Here's a closer look at the depth of it. I think these colors create a beautiful contrast.  For my next card, I die-cut the fancy flourish with pink cardstock and placed i

Sepia Thank You

Good morning!  Heather  here from  Houses Built of Cards ! Today I'm sharing a thank you card with a vintage feel - or at least that is what I was trying to accomplish! There is something so fun and simple about a monochromatic card! I used the new Wplus9 Watercolored Anemones stamp set - another favorite of their newest release! I stamped it in various shades of neutral brown tone MFT ink, then die cut the panel borders with MFT's Die-namics Stitched Basic Edges  and the sentiment which came from Party Animal . Added some pattern paper from Crate Paper's 6x6 Poolside paper pad and tucked a doily behind. Added a couple strips of white cardstock with torn edges held on with a paper clip and tied with some jute twine, then a sprinkling of Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars and white enamel dots . As a final finishing touch, I added some shimmer with a Gold Wink of Stella Marker . Hard to see in the photos, but shows up a tad better on this picture - I hope!

I Know You Layout

Hello! And happy Father's Day to everyone out there! Samantha here with you today, and I don't have a Father's Day project for you...sigh. I know, what's wrong with me?! Ha! But I do have an awesome layout to share that I created with the June Mood Board! Need a mood board picture refresher? Yeah, I am in LOVE! So let's dive into my layout, shall we? First, I used some Distress Ink (Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar) to create the watercolored background. Then I used LOTS of goodies to embellish in the pinks and blues from the mood board! I used stickers from the Rise and Shine Amy Tangerine Collection , and wood buttons from Dear Lizzy and Shimelle collections! I used some of my favorite Thickers to create the title, along with some tiny alpha stickers from My Minds Eye ! Oh, and I can't forget about those sweet little pinky enamel stickers - those are from the Pool Side collection ! LOVE! Oh, I forgot to mention! I used pap

Lift Me Up - Sharna W.

Hi hi! Sharna here again! This time I have a card mixing Lawn Fawn & Wplus9 because they are two of my favorite companies. The sweet giraffe & balloon are from the new Party Animal stamp set. I colored these using a mix of copics & prismacolor markers. I really do like both. I have way more colors of copics but I blend better with prismacolors. The background is the new puffy cloud boarder dies from Lawn Fawn & the largest of the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts. Birthday Card Using Foiling Technique

Hello friends, Emily here.  Today I'm sharing a card using Altenew's  Peony Scrolls , and  Super Script  stamp sets. First, i randomly stamped images from Peony Scrolls set... waited for it to dry or heat set.  Next, I stamped "friend" word in versamark and added HA embossing powder on top (STOP right here, do not heat the embossing powder).  I place a small piece of foil over, enough to cover "friend".  Then place my card in between a folded piece of parchment paper.  To set the foil, i used my Scotch laminator (so far I've been pretty happy with it).  I ran through the laminator twice, then gently remove the extra foil.  The result is really pretty in person. Thanks so much for stopping by! A close up look at the gold foil

Thinking of You

Hi there! Amber here :) I recently got some of the new Wplus9 goodies and just LOOOOVE this Watercolor Anemones stamp set! It has a coordinating die set too, which makes this amazing stamp set even more versatile! I stamped the blooms in Daffodil ink by MFT and a blue ink from Mama Elephant. The "thinking of you" sentiment is from Watercolored Anemones and the "smile" die is from WPlus9's Flower Doodle dies.   The stamp that I stamped in the center of the blue flowers is from Avery Elle's Petals and Stems The little binder clip in the top corner is from Heidi Swapp . See those black specks? I used my handy dandy spritzer tool from Ranger and a black Tombow marker and spritzed some black specks on the card, it really gave it that fun little extra detail I like! I thank you for stopping by today and hope you have a super fun Thursday!!

Friends Forever

Good morning, Jessica here!  I am absolutely in love with the new release from Lawn Fawn and I was so excited to see that Vanessa is carrying the entire release in the shop!  My card for today uses one of the smaller new stamp sets, So Jelly ! I started off by stamping the jellyfish from So Jelly onto a piece of watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink before heat-embossing it with clear powder .  Then I used a Clean Color Real Brush marker in dark pink to color the jellyfish.  I added a little color to the top of the jellyfish, the spots, and the tops of the tentacles.  Then I used a clear wink of stella glitter brush to blend the color out across the jellyfish and add a little sparkle!  After the jellyfish was totally dry I used the matching dies to cut out each one. Next I took a piece of watercolor paper trimmed to 4" by 7" and taped it to my craft sheet.  Then I smooshed salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, chipped sapphire, and peacock feathers distress ink

Hang in There

Hi,  Rubeena  here with a birthday card featuring  Tweet Tweet stamps  and  dies  from Avery Elle's latest release. This was fun to put together. I stamped all the images in Memento black dye ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I die-cut them and set them aside.  I used the large die from Wonky Stitches Elle-ments Dies to cut out the stitched background. The background was colored with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Tumbled Glass and then sprayed with white and shimmer spray. I arranged all the colored pieces over it and added foam tape for dimension.  I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush over the perch...just because. I love sparkle! The sentiment was stamped with Memento black dye ink.  Hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks so much for visiting!

Party like an Animal

Good morning!  Heather  here from  Houses Built of Cards ! I totally have a thing for cute little critters, so as soon as I got the first sneak peek of the new Party Animal Stamp Set from Wplus9 , I knew I had to get my hands on it! Thanks to Vanessa's amazing shipping - I had it just a couple days after it released, and was able to make this! I stamped all the layers with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink pad - and colored it in with Copics - especially coordinating it with some pattern paper from the newest Crate paper 6x6 pad - Poolside . Added some Coral Lawn Trimming on the top, a little distress ink along the edges to soften the color, and then layered with vellum and onto the card. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Guest Designer Sunday with Heather Pulvirenti

Happy Sunday! We have a special treat for you all today! Our guest Designer this month is none other than Heather Pulvirenti !  Here's a little introduction about Heather and then you can r ead below to learn how she created an incredibly stunning watercolored card!  Hi! My name is Heather Pulvirenti, though most people in the blogosphere know me as Heather P. :) I live in Columbia, MD with my husband Jason, our 10 year old daughter Lindsay, and an assortment of little boogers (aka our cats and dog).  Our daughter is a total spitfire, and I just love her to pieces. I was born in England, and have spent most of my life in the US (in Maryland and Virginia), except for the four years we lived in Canberra, Australia (my mom was career Air Force).  I am currently a SAHM, but since my daughter is off during the day at school, I fill my days working on remodeling projects around the house, and running my little Etsy business.   I started paper crafting a little over

Sweet Tidings - Sharna W.

Hello it's Sharna ! I have two cards for you today. I already shared one on instagram but I thought I would share again with some more details!   This first card is the new one. I've had this stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a while now and I just never used it. No idea why! Don't know how many of you are playing along with the 30 day color challenge but if you aren't you should give it a try! I find I can give many stamps that have been collecting dust a chance for some action. Today both my cards came from playing with coloring. This card was an experiment with distress ink coloring. I got a new water brush so of course I had to take it for a spin. The background is made with some simple heat embossing of the hearts in this set and some ink smooshing. That' s basically taking your ink, putting it on a block, spraying it and smooshing it to your paper. Its a lot of fun and super easy! I used Picked Raspberries for the background and the milk carton. The cookies

Have a Beautiful Friday!!

Hello Friends! It's finally Friday...my favorite day of the week:) I have to work, sure,  but I'm 1) Thankful to have an awesome job that I love, and 2) I have the next two days off, wooooohoooo! Today I have a quick little card to share! It might look like it took awhile, but it only took about 15 mins to make! The wonder of watercolor:) Using the inspiration piece from The Card Concept and these fabulous new stamps from Wplus9, Doodle Buds! I really really really really really love this stamp set! I mean doodle buds? You're speaking my LANGUAGE! This set has coordinating dies too, so fun!  To create this piece, I stamped the images in Versamark on watercolor paper and embossed them in white ink. Then I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to color it all in. The tag is from MFT's Stitched Tags dies and the sentiment also from Doodle Buds. This is a really simple card, but I think it's one of my faves! Those colors just...gah!!!  Thanks

Birthday Wishes Featuring Altenew

Hello friends, Today I'm sharing a birthday card using the stamp sets by Altenew.  First, on a piece of watercolor paper, I stamped some flowers from the set  Striped Florals  using purple ink and embossed them with clear matte embossing powder. With masking technique, i created a cluster of flowers at the bottom right of my card.  Next, i water-colored the background with Gansai Tambi watercolor .  The sentiment was from the set  Birthday Greetings , and it was embossed using Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I adhered my panel on the card base and added few clear sequins to finish the look. Thanks so much for stopping by!   A close up look of Liquid Platinum embossing powder... such a pretty shade of gold

You Make Me Happy...

Good morning, Jess here!  All week long I've been linking up to the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and seeing as how  Butterfly Reflections Ink is a super sponsor for the hop I thought I'd share my card for today here! :) I know this is a summer-themed hop and that most people equate summer with hot weather; but one of my favorite things about summer are the storms...the really quick thunderstorms that roll through most evenings, drop a ton of rain, bring down the temperatures, and then disappear just as quickly as they appeared.  So yesterday when we got another huge storm I made myself a cup of coffee while I watched the storm (and held my trembling dog) and got inspired for today's card! I started off by die-cutting the clouds, raindrops, and sun from the WPlus9 Sunshine Layers set in white and yellow cardstock.  Then I die-cut the scalloped edge panel from grey-blue cardstock.  I also die-cut the clouds from the blue panel to create a shaker card.  I cut apa

Happy Birthday

Hi,  Rubeena  here with a birthday card featuring  Swim Team stamps  and  dies  from Avery Elle's latest release. Also, it is my birthday today so this is an appropriate card. ;-) To begin, I began with coloring watercolor paper with three distress inks: Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Stormy Sky. I added drops of water to give it a watery look. I used the two rectangle dies from  Wonky Stitches Elle-ments Dies . I'm in love with this die set! It's pretty cute and unique. I taped down the center on white cardstock base and then added foam tape around it because I was going to create a shaker card. I stamped and colored some of the sea creatures with Copic markers and fussy cut them. I stamped the sentiment, the rocks and other sea elements on the center piece using black dye ink. I added the colored pieces with foam tape and threw in some matching sequins. I added acetate sheet behind the rectangle outline that I die-cut earlier and then added it on top to

Everything is Awesome

Good morning!  Heather  here from  Houses Built of Cards ! Today I'm sharing a fun movie inspired card! Yep...we finally watched the Lego Movie, and can you guess what song is now stuck in our heads? Uh-huh! I used some fun Altenew stamp sets to make a card using the title of the song: I used Altenew's Sketchy Cities (not currently in stock at Butterfly Reflections - although Sketchy Landmarks is a similar style of artwork) - then built a sentiment using Super Script Stamp set , stamped with Versamark Ink , then heat embossed on watercolor paper with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder . I discovered that the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers work wonderfully for the smooshing technique! I scribbled in lines on a piece of acetate, misted with water, then smooshed over my embossed images. I actually used 4 different colors - a blue, orange, yellow, and then a bit of soft gray at the top. I used some pattern paper from Lawn Fawn's Beachside 6x6 Paper Pad , an
