You are Mermazing!

Hello there! Gladys here and I'm excited to be back on the BRI blog today. I have a mermaid shaker card for you with lots of products from different companies. Let's get started shall we?   I always start out by cutting watercolor paper using a stitched rectangle die for my card panel. Then I create my own background colors, this time I used distress oxides inks in wilted violet , broken china , cracked pistachio and fossilized amber . As you can see these inks blend so well together you won't even break a sweat! I splattered some water onto my panel and let it completely air dry.      While that was drying I colored my images from the Mermazing stamp set by My Favorite Things using copic markers. I also used  MFT dye inks for the solid images such as the corals and kelp. I used the  Mermazing coordinating dies to cut my images. Back to my card panel, I used the  lacy layers die from Waffle Flowers that I scored awhile back during one of the da

Happy Birthday Card

Hi crafty friends, Joann here today and I cannot tell you how excited I am today to be sharing a card with you! I am sharing a birthday card with you today using some adorable paper from  Cute Girl  by Crate Paper! This adorable paper pack has some beautiful patterns in some fun colors!! You can see all of the products in this collection  HERE ! I took a black and white pattern design from this paper pad to create my base.  I took 4 different ink pads and stamped some floral images from  My Favorite Things Pretty Posies  stamp set. I scattered them and glued them down.  I also took the  coordinating die set  from this stamp set to cut a few images from some gold glitter card stock. I then placed some vellum on top of my flowers and used my Cricut to cute the Happy Birthday phrase from the same gold glitter card stock and popped it up with some foam adhesive.  To finish off the card I created my own enamel dots using some  Ranger Enamel Accents . I kept this car

One Layer Cards | Two Ways | Rainbow Edition

Hi Friends!   Kari  back with you today sharing some rainbow goodness!  First, before I get started with today's post, I would like to take a moment and thank all of the men and women in uniform on this Memorial Day who sacrifice themselves on the daily, so my family and I can live a life of freedom.  Today is a day to remember and reflect, but honestly I feel we should do this everyday don't you?!  You are all brave to serve, and I know that saying a simple thank you isn't enough compared to what you do, and what you sacrifice.   OK - so with that said - lets's move on to these One Layer Wonders :)   So if you are like me, coming up with ideas to create one layer cards can be a challenge.  So, my go-to for this when I can't think of anything else, is to create a rainbow somehow somewhere on my card.  Today, I wanted to share what I did with the  Altenew Halftone Circles  stamp set as well as the  Concord & 9th Fill In Phrases  stamp set.  I did ver

It's Been Ruff

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple, really cute card for you today featuring products from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things available at the  store . I started by creating a light sky background with the MFT Cloud Stencil , a blue cardstock base and white ink. (Love how many options this simple stencil provides!) I then die cut a white fence from the MFT Frightful Fence and some grass in two shades of light green from the MFT Grassy Hills Die-namics . On the top most layer of grass, I die cut Twice the Hugs from MFT so that the darker green could show throw. Then, I stamped and colored the super cute puppy from Avery Elle's More Furry Friends , fussy cut him out and then adhered him to the card. For a finishing touch, I extended my sentiment with a banner from a cute pun, also stamped from  Avery Elle's More Furry Friends . Just a reminder that if you see something that is out

Under the Sea!

Hello, crafty friends! You guys.....I can NOT get the beach off my brain. We are headed there next week for a family vacation and everywhere I look, I see the ocean, and waves, and the sand, and...and... I'M SO EXCITED!! Naturally the only obvious conclusion to this story is that I'm up sharing this fun underwater card with you today! Ok, let's talk about shaker cards. Perhaps one day I will write a short novel on my love/hate relationship with shaker cards and how it has morphed over the last year or so. When I saw my first shaker card, I immediately fell in love. I've tried multiple methods of creating shaker cards, and this method has been the best that's worked for me. First, I stamped all the fish and other sea creatures on watercolor cardstock .These images are from the Lawn Fawn Fintastic Friends , Critters in the Sea , and So Jelly  stamp sets. I used a combination of Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers  to color the images, and then I fussy-cut

You Are Magical

Happy Friday friends! Crystal here with a very glittery card to make your weekend extra sparkly. Today I am playing with Waffle Flower Stamps Cross Stitched Unicorn s tamp set. This card was super fun and simple to make. I began by die cutting the white card stock with Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Board Dies . Next, I stamped the sentiment using Altenew Jet Black Ink.  To follow, I stamped the unicorn and all the stars in various shades. Once I was done stamping, I wrapped the card stock with silver thread and adhered it to the pink glittery base. To finish I added Pretty Pink Posh sequins from their March release benefiting Compassion International. All products for this card can be found in stock on the Butterfly Reflection store. I was super happy how cute this turned out, and the stamping was very simple. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a fab weekend! Crystal

Hello Everyone and thank you so much for stopping by today! This Yummy Card was inspired by an ice cream my kids love! It is called "Rainbow Ice Cream" they can combine 3 of their favorite flavors in one cone!  While I was there inspiration hit me to create this fun card for you today! I started making some tests with different inks, and I found the results you get with Oxide Inks are fantastic and very bright, even when mixing very different colors. CARD DETAILS: I started with the ice cream layers on my MISTI Tool , for the first layer I used  Lawn Fawn ink Ballet Slippers  I stamped it twice, for the second layer I used  Distress Oxide Ink Broken China  for cone #1 and for cone #2 I used  Distress Oxide Ink Cracked Pistachio  also double stamped, and for the 3rd layer I used  Distress Oxide Ink Wilted Violet , because this is the most vibrant color it looks great as the last layer! for the cones I used  Lawn Fawn Ink Doe .

Hello there...you're so lovely!

Hi friends - happy hump day; hope you are having a great week! I was so inspired by THIS card that I used it as my inspiration for today's creation...and the colors at Color Throwdown (below). I used the MFT scalloped die to cut the edge of Copic paper, embossed some flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts You're So Lovely set, then sponged on distress ink in Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron. Once complete I added droplets of water, let them set for a bit then soaked them up with a paper towel. I stamped the sentiment in Lawn Fawn black several times and finished it off with some yellow Nuvo drops and Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Pretty clean and simple, I love the color combo. Thanks for visiting, see you again soon! Hugs, WHAT'S IT TAKE? Stamps : Hero Arts  You're So Lovely , MFT More Essential Sentiments , PTI Round and Round Papers :  Copic , PTI Hawaiian Shores (inside), Neenah 110 lb. white I Ink :  VesaMark , Lawn Fawn   Black , Hero Art

You're One Smart Cookie!

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday to you! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 and I have a cute graduation card to share with you today.  This fun, shaker card is for my grandson, Brayden, who is about to graduate from Kindergarten.... I used some fun Lawn Fawn products to create this card for my smart little cookie.  The adorable images are from the Smart Cookie Stamp Set .  After stamping and coloring the images, I used the Smart Cookie Lawn Cuts dies to cut them out.  I also used the Scripty Congrats Lawn Cuts die to cut out the word "congrats".  I cut out the sentiment three times and layered them together using some Multi Medium Matte Adhesive . To add a little sparkle, I covered the word "congrats" with some Frosted Lace Stickles .  I also added a bit of Glossy Accents to the glasses on my cute little cookie.  While the Stickles and Glossy Accents were drying, I started working on my shaker frame.  Using the Die-namics Stitched Dome Frames

Smiles Start With You - Newton's Nook

Welcome back friends!   Kari  here to share with you this card featuring the adorable stamp set from Newton's Nook called  Newton's Bird Bath .  I think this set is absolutely adorable and a cute one to create a fun Spring/Summer scene. I wanted to color in my images today with my  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers .  I started by stamping down my images onto a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper with  VersaFine Onyx Black  ink and covering with Clear Embossing Powder, and used my heat tool to set.  I used for the cat - Gray and Light Gray, Bird Bath - Mid Brown, Water - Light Blue and Cobalt Blue, and Birds and Butterfly - Pink Flamingo, Light Carmine, Pink, and Orange. Once I was satisfied with my images, I set aside the panel to dry before using the  Newton's Bird Bath Dies  to cut them out.  Next, I wanted to start building my scene, so I used the new  Cloud Stencil  from MFT and some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a beautiful blue sky. I also die

I Love You to the Stars and Back!

Hello everyone, Coralynn here and I'm very excited to be back guest designing today.  I have a "just because" card but really can be anything you want by added another sentiment inside the card such as Happy Birthday or You did it. I started with the Lawn Fawn Out of this World stamp set with is simply adorable and I love how they have all the planets. I coloured in the planets, rocket and astronaut with copics and then cut them out with their dies. I then worked on the galaxy background. I took  distress inks and blended them on a piece of watercolour paper.  I used Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet and Squeezed Lemonade.  Once I had all the colours blended the way I thought would look good, because at this point it's just a hot mess.  I then sprayed some water drops and took paper towel to remove the water and leave the spots.  I then took some acrylic paint I had in my stash and added the splatter. I used the "I love you to the ST

Thinking of You

Hello there! It's Saturday! Or as my niece calls it, "Party Day!" I'm back with another installment of yet another WPlus 9 stamp set. When this stamp set was released, I just shook my head and thought, "How did she do it...AGAIN?!" I think I mentioned this in my last blog post, but I think I own every floral stamp set that Dawn has produced. Her images are some of my favorites to use for no-line watercolor, and so I decided to bring in that technique for this card. My husband recently went out of town for his friend's wedding and was gone for almost the entire weekend. To keep from going crazy, I decided I'd tackle the Kind Soul stamp set and get out my distress inks ! I knew this process would probably take a while, but since it's more a form of therapy than anything else, I didn't mind! I first stamped the floral image on Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper  in a light colored ink. I then selected Shaded Lilac, Worn Lipstick, a

So Cool

Hi there friends! Crystal here with a "cool" card (no pun intended) made with Sunny Studio Perfect Popsicle. This Popsicle was screaming to be paired with Glossy Accents . Therefore I left the stamped imaged be the focus of this card. I decided to make a set of these as the sentiment was just super versatile. To make these, I stamped the Popsicle in 3 inks from Altenew in the following order Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee. Then I fuzzy cut and adhere them to the base of the card. The sentiment is stamped in Hero Arts Cup'O Joe. Of course we can't forget the glossy accents. On one card I placed the accents on the entire Popsicle and the other was just embellished with it. Both cards were embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Clear Confetti and Honey Bee Stamps diamonds. The background patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn. That is it for us today! Thanks for stopping by and  I hope you get some crafty time this weekend. Stay Cool!

Awesome Purse-N!

Hello Friends, use a lot of black in a card can be a little intimidating  for some people.... specially for me, but when I saw the floral pattern from the Waffle Flower  Purse-nality Stamp Set   I knew,  I wanted to use a lot of black. For this card I used a mix of black and soft colors. To start my card I stamped the first layer of purses with  Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad  and added  Embossing Powder Super Fine Clear , for the second layer I  did the same. That gave the purses a great reased look. I die cut the biggest square from the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched 4 Bar Rectangles Lawn Cuts and with a very light hand sponge it with  Lawn Fawn inks in colors: Ballet Slippers ,  Merman and  Squeezed Lemonade  distress ink. With the same colors and with a more heavy hand sponge  the purses for more vibrant colors.  For the card base I used Lawn Fawn   Black Licorice  cardstock  and with versafine ink I sponged the whole front part, I ad

Little bits of Kind Soul

Hi friends - happy hump day! :D I wanted to created some bright and cheery flowers celebrating spring! I've had this Kind Soul set from WPlus9 for a couple weeks, but only used small portions of it in each corner embossed in white and colored with Zig Clean Color Brushes. Once colored and dry, I added a light blue wash over the entire background and then a bit darker blue closest to the image. I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 That is All set, embossed with Hero Arts Liquid Platinum, and splattered on some watered down gold paint. Finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins - the ones with no holes. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Hugs, WHAT'S IT TAKE? A Magical Birthday

Hi there and happy Tuesday to you! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 to share a magical birthday card with you today. My youngest granddaughter, Hannah, is turning 4 years old in a couple of weeks. I love that she loves sparkles, glitter and princesses because it gave me a chance to create a card with the adorable Once Upon A Time stamp set by My Favorite Things: I really love the way this turned out - this stamp set is so much fun to work with. To get started, I cut out my scalloped background panel using the MFT Die-namics Blueprint #27 die set.  Next, I created a shorter panel using the MFT Die-namics Rolling Hills die.  I also used the Rolling Hills die to create a mask so that I could ink up some hills and clouds on my card background: The grassy hills on my card were created with Distress Ink in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn . To created the look of clouds, I used Distress Ink in Broken China along with the new Cloud Stencil from My Favorite Things.

I've Always Looked Up To You | My Favorite Things

Hi Friends!   Kari  here with you today, and since we just celebrated Mother's Day here in the States yesterday, I thought this card would be appropriate, although this isn't technically a Mother's Day card.  I think this images in this  Giraffing Me Crazy  MFT set are so sweet! I started off my card with the popular  Cloud Stencil  from MFT, and inked up a piece of smooth white card stock with  Broken China Distress Oxide  ink.  Then, I took the  Peek-a-boo Square Die-namics , and die cut it twice from the white card stock as well as some older 6x6 paper from Lawn Fawn.   I set that aside to work on my giraffe images.  I stamped it with some  Jet Black  from Lawn Fawn since it is a Copic friendly ink.  I colored in my images very simply using my Copics in E34, E37 and Y21.  I also stamped out some leaf clusters and used YG67 and YG17.   I die cut my images with the coordinating  Giraffing Me Crazy Dies .  I played with the layout a bit, and started to asse
