Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Good morning! Can you believe today is the last day of September and there's only 3 months left in the year? It's crazy I tell ya... Gladys here thanks for stopping by the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. Today I'm sharing this card which is not my usual but I wanted to make a card other than critters. I really love my floral stamps and this one called  Bold Blooms by My Favorite Things is no exception. It's no surprise I love MFT products! I used MFT premium inks to color my background and flowers. Did you know you can buy MFT inks pads in the shop ? Some of the images on this stamp set allows you to layer on top of each other. Using my MISTI tool I was able to get a nice stamped image of my flowers. Then I cut them using the Bold Blooms coordinating dies . On my card panel I used the Big Hello dienamics . Oh hello, everyone! It's Lynnea and I'm back with another project for you! I have a lot of photos to share, so let's just get going! Remember that you can pick up the products I've used for today's cards from the  Butterfly Reflections, Ink Shop ! I've used the  Geometric Menagerie Stamp Set  from Altenew along with some Distress Inks to make this set of watercolored cards. I started by stamping two of each animal from the set with some  Versafine Onyx Black Ink  and sprinkled on some  Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder  and heat set the powder with my heat gun. I made 6 backgrounds total - 3 green and 3 yellow. I smooshed some  Twisted Citron  for the green and Fossilized Amber  for the yellow Distress Inks onto a piece of acetate and sprayed it with some water that I mixed with  Perfect Pearls . I transferred the ink onto some watercolor paper and set the backgrounds aside to let them dry. While the backgrounds were drying I start

Good Morning, all! I'm super excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog to share another card with you today, because I've been dying to play with this stamp set since I saw it. The Sunny Studio set Autumn Splendor  has had me drooling lately. The cards being made are amazing, and I knew I needed to make a card with it ASAP. So here's what I came up with!    This stamp set is great for stamp layering, but honestly I don't have a ton of coordinating inks. So instead I knew I'd be making a Distress Ink card. (Oh, shucks. I was so torn up about it) I started by cutting out a stitched rectangle with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles dies. The paper I used was Bristol Smooth cardstock. I started pulling the leaves I wanted to use and the inks I wanted to use. The ink colors I used were Fossilized Amber , Fired Brick , Tea Dye , Candied Apple , Carved Pumpkin , and Ground Espresso . Karen B. from The Bald Dragonfly  here, with a card creation that features two products from different companies. I really enjoy combining unlikely images to create a fun, clean card. I started this card by stamping with black ink and clear heat embossing with clear powder the Tree Ring from Concord & 9th onto watercolor paper as well as a sentiment from  My Favorite Thing's Forest Friends . Onto a separate piece of watercolor paper, I applied the same treatment to the bear and leaves from  My Favorite Thing's Forest Friends . I colored each image very loosely with Gansai Tambi Watercolors , then die cut the leaves and bear with the My Favorite Things Forest Friends Die-namics . The tree ring panel was mo unted onto a piece of patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Trail Mix 6x6 Paper Pack , which was then mounted to a white card base. I finished the card by adhering the bear and leaves with dimensional adhesive and adding a mixture Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Blac

Good Morning!!!   I'm  back with a new card featuring Concord and 9th products, some older, some new!! As soon as I looked at the  Give Thanks  stamp set,  I instantly gravitated toward the leaf image that looks like a heart.  I also used the  Friend Like You Dies . I really struggle with color combinations so I used one of the Distress Ink Recipes.  Recipe #5 to be exact. Those colors are Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters, Scattered Straw and Stormy Sky. I only inked up the edge and stamped directly onto some  Watercolor Paper  and smoothed the ink out with my  water brush . After stamping the entire background in this way, I added a few layers using the same inks with less water so the color was more intense. Without taking apart the dies, I die cut the Friend Like You dies in the middle of the panel.  And look at all the prettiness that was left over!! Hi peeps. How's it going? It's me, Vera, here today. As you may or may not know, I am a fan of cute stuff and today's card is no exception. I am playing with one of my favorite MFT set, the Adorable Elephant set. I start by die-cutting the triangles and coloring them with various inks, then adhere them quite randomly. I am quite into this color combo lately. There were a couple cards on my blog post recently using this color combo thought in slightly softer tone. That's what I love about playing with cover up dies, you could really play with the positive parts. Now, from graphic element we transition to the cute element of the card. I love elephant. They're such majestic creature. While writing this post, I just realized that I have stuff animal version of all animals I love, but I don't have elephant, yet. Good morning everyone! Are you glad today is Friday? I am. :) Gladys here with a Halloween card for you today. Do you celebrate Halloween where you're from? In Hawaii it is a huge thing for the kids to dress up and go trick or treating. I don't dress up but I do like seeing people in their costumes except for the scary ones. The costumes on my card is nothing but scary. I used Lawn Fawn new stamp set called Happy Howloween  which is available in the shop . The stamps include 3 dog images and various costumes. I love the hot dog costume but unfortunately I didn't use it on this card but will definitely make it's way onto a future project. I also used an older stamp set called Happy Haunting.  For my background I colored it with distress inks: dusty concord, abandoned coral , mustard seed, and black soot. The dogs, costumes and haunted house were colored with Copic markers. I die cut the dogs and costumes using the coordinated dies which is also available in the

Hello, all! I hope you won't be too angry that I'm bringing you another Lawn Fawn card today! I promise that next time I'll use another company...but I had this idea and I couldn't let it go! Autumn is one of my favorite seasons because I just love the colors! Deep oranges, yellows, and reds are just gorgeous! I started with  THIS  Lawn Fawn stamp set. I stamped the scarecrow with  THIS  ink and heat set it so that I could do some water coloring with Distress Inks. I used  THIS  red,  THIS  blue,  THIS  orange,  THIS  yellow, and some Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs. Good morning, friends! It's Cassie here with a couple cards for you today. I'm one of the many who were drooling over the new My Favorite Things release, so today I used two sets for the same card design. I followed Jennifer McGuire's example and started by cutting my cardstock to 3 1/2 by 11. Then you score the paper at 4 inches from one edge and 2 1/2 inches from the opposite edge. The flaps overlap and that will be where you place your die to cut the opening flap. I used the Sunny Studio Fishtail Banner dies. I made sure that the two flaps were over lapping where the die was going to makes the cuts. After the cuts were made I started stamping. For this card I used the Llama Love stamp set's cactus images to create a pattern for the background. To color them in I used multiple green Copic combinations. I stamped, colored in, and fussy cut one of the llamas. I LOVE these adorable llamas. I think this is probably my favorite stamp set to date for MFT ! Next I

My local zoo was the delightful recipient of two orphaned Kodiak bears from Alaska, and they are thriving in their new environment. They are so fun to watch! These two little guys from Wplus9's Curious Forest Friends stole my heart and I had to have this set to create with! If you are in love with cute critters, this stamp set is for you too! I started by stamping and then masking the two cute bears from  Curious Forest Friends  and then watercoloring a light sky background with Salty Ocean Distress Ink and Zig Markers . Hello everyone and welcome back!!   Laurie  here to share a card using a couple of different companies.  I love combining products from different brands and today I'm using Create A Smile and My Favourite Things. I started by using the  Botanical Love  set from Create A Smile and placing a few of the images on my  Misti . I knew I wanted to create some sort of "frame of flowers". After you have your first corner stamp placed, it's as easy as flipping your card panel around to get an exact match on the other corner, does that make sense??  I needed to do some simple masking to add my last images. An here is the finishing stamping!! It's very plain with some rather large gaps, but I'll fix that!!  I chose orange, teal, blue and pink as my color palette.  I used alcohol markers to color in the flowers. Sympathy cards are not something we want to have to send, but we do. We send them to let those we care about know that we are thinking of them at a time of loss. We may not know the right words to say, but a handmade card just might touch them in a way that words cannot. Hi friends! I am glad to be back on the BRI blog today! Follow along to see how this fantastically foilicious (but hard to photograph) card is made. All the awesomeness just cannot be captured in a still image! I began with a 110lb 4.25" x 5.5" white cardstock panel. I pulled a stencil from my stash (any will do!) and placed over the panel. Secure to craft mat with washi tape. Next, spread Minc Reactive Paint or Art Screen Ink haphazardly across the taped down stencil. Carefully pull up the stencil while paint/ink is still wet and set panel aside to dry. Take a minute to wash the stencil with warm water (better now than later!).  The viscosity is a bit different between the Minc Reactive

Hi peeps! How's thing going? Vera here today on this beautiful Saturday.  I am an animal lover at heart and for those that knows me personally, know that I am a huge dog lover. I am especially drawn to pug, but I love dogs in general. So, when I saw this Crazy Dogs Stamp Set , of course I have to have it (even though they don't have any pug on this set, hah!). There's just something about their wild eyes that call to me. Hm... does that make me weird? Maybe, but I am okay with that. ;) I have a dear friend that loves dachshund and this particular dog reminds me of her dog, so I am making this card for her. I colored it with Copic and then fussy cut the dog. I don't have the matching dies, yet, so fussy cutting it is. Aside from the dog, to make this card, I used mostly My Favorite Things products. I die-cut a stitched panel using the largest dies from  Die-namics Double Stitched Rectangle STAX  and framed it with patterned paper from Plaid Pattern

Good morning everyone! Gladys here and I'm back with another card featuring My Favorite Things new stamp set Happy Hedgehogs . Let's get started!  First I die cut my card panel from watercolor paper then die cut it again using the double stitched rectangle die-namics . I colored the inner panel with broken china, peacock feathers , twisted citron , and mowed lawn distress inks using a blending tool. After I let my panel dry completely I stamped it with the sentiment from the stamp set using VersaMark ink . You want your panel to be dry before putting embossing powder on it otherwise the powder will stick everywhere. Trust me I've done it before and it was a hot mess. If you are impatient like me you can use your heat tool so it dries faster. I stamped and colored my images using copic markers. Hello, all! It's Lynnea and I'm back to bring you another card! I've used some more Lawn Fawn goodies from the  SHOP ...both older and newer products! Last week I made a summer card. The temperatures are finally getting lower and yesterday I saw an orange leaf! Hooray! It's fall!! Let's jump right in!  I die cut a piece of 5.5" wide heavy weight cardstock with  THIS  new die from Lawn Fawn. I also cut two pieces of cardstock with  THIS  older die. I masked off the little houses and used Peeled Paint and  THIS  Distress Ink to color the grass. I inked directly onto a sidefolding card base with Broken China and  THIS  Distress Ink for the sky. Next, I masked off the bottom portion of the hill so that I could ink just the houses. I used  THIS  red Distress Ink,  THIS  orange Distress Ink, and  THIS  yellow Distress Ink. I flicked some water onto my pieces to distress them further. I stamped the wheelbarrow full of pumpkins from  THIS  stamp

Good morning, everyone! It's Cassie here with another fun card for you all! I'm super excited about this card because it uses a really fun die by Concord and 9th . Let's just jump right in :)  I was so pumped to finally use the Hugs Card die . I was worried it was going to be too complicated, but luckily it was not difficult at all to figure out. The interlocking feature is such a fun and unique touch. I started this card by cutting my Strathmore Bristol smooth paper to 5x11. I die cut the hugs letters off each side and creased the card so it folded in. Then I masked the card so I could work on the front panels that you see here. This is when I used my WPlus9 Friends For All Seasons: Spring set and stamped the images all over the front. I made sure that images were hanging off the side so it looked like a continuous pattern. I used my Distress Inks to color the images.
