Hello!
My name is Chari and I love to create fun bright happy designs. I am married to my husband of almost 5 years Matt, and we live in the mountains of North Carolina with our little dog Penny. She is a bit of a diva and an instagram star as well. :) I am an architect, so during the day I design buildings, so it's my free time when I get crafty. I have always had an interest in stamping from a young age but it never took off until about 5 years ago when I discovered Lawn Fawn stamps which were just my style. That was when I started my blog and things just developed from there. Now I am part of the most amazing design team at Lawn Fawn, I have had cards published in a handful of publications and I have taught a couple lessons for popular card classes as well. I am super excited to be sharing creations with you this month as a guest designer here at Butterfly Reflections Ink!
I got to meet Vanessa and her Butterfly Reflections crew last month at CHA. What a fun bunch of girls, and super sweet too. So I was happy to accept the invitation to be a guest on the blog for February. I do play with other companies stamps from time to time but most of my stash is of course Lawn Fawn so that is what I used mostly for today's card. I even threw in some of the new goodies that I know you all just can't wait to get your hands on! And seeing as today is Valentine's Day, I of course made a valentine for you!
I started by cutting a piece of the "Lynette" Perfectly Plaid 12x12 paper with the largest Stitched Rectangle Stackable die, this die is A2 size and covers the front of a card perfectly. Using the colors in the the pattern paper as my inspiration I then cut a Stitched Heart from the new Guava cardstock from Lawn Fawn and a Scalloped Rectangle from the new Chili Pepper cardstock. I used the coordinating size of Stitched Rectangle Stackable die to cut a piece of Neenah Natural White cardstock to layer over the scalloped rectangle.
I used the Hearts Deco Tape runner to add hearts on my cream rectangle for a little more interest. I stamped out and colored my favorite nerd birds from Lawn Fawn's Science of Love set. I colored them with copic markers in colors that coordinated with my papers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. For my sentiment I cut some new Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock with one of the new Everyday Sentiment Banner dies and stamped it with Hippo ink. After getting everything assembled I finished off with some Doodlebug Love Matte Sprinkles and Frosted Lace stickles around the heart.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card today. Have a Happy Valentine's Day. Treat yourself to some craft goodies and creative time.
