Hello friends! Thank you for taking some time out of your day to visit the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. We are so happy you are here!
I am Janette, and today I bring you a card that features the newly released Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. They do indeed sparkle, they are scrumptious! Raise your hand if you are all about the adult coloring book craze currently sweeping the nation? My hand is sky high and I believe instead of letting those colored pages hide inside a book, we should give them life.
Next, I used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in Pink Garnet and Red Berry for the petals. A word of caution, do not open or shake your new pens over your art. Ask me how I know, x2, gah. Sometimes I have to learn a lesson more than one time to make it stick, haha! No, no - really, not funny. Fortunately, the fine point black Sharpie used for the matte black covered most of those little splatters. Turns out that the matte versus sparkle really made the petals pop. The other splatters were hidden by the Signo White Gel pen. Another solution could be to make more intentional splatters across the card.
Finally, fussy cut the flower (with or without leaves and buds) and adhere to A2 sized navy card stock panel with foam tape for dimension. I added the "Smile" mirrored gold sentiment from the On Trend 2 acrylic shapes for added drama (the only place I like it, on my cards!).
If you are interested in winning 2 brand new Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens of your own, Crystal Clear and the exclusive Inspired Violet, head on over to my blog here and enter the GIVEAWAY. There are multiple ways to earn entries. The giveaway will close at 11:59pm PST Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016. The winner will be announced next Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at 6am PST on janettekausen.com and here on the BRI blog.

All that glitz is hard to capture on film or rather, in pixels, so I've included several shots. Rest assured, it is spectacular!
This flower is from the Tula Pink coloring book. I began by copying it onto a heavy weight card stock. Often the paper found in color books is not suitable for wet mediums, so if you favor one of those techniques, I highly recommend you copy the design onto paper that is.
