Hi there, crafty friends! Kimberly here today to share a fun way to get more mileage from your stencils! I used a stencil from Neat & Tangled, Zig watercolor markers and heat embossing to get this look!
SUPPLIES
To create the stenciled border, I lightly adhered my stencil to regular cardstock with some washi to hold it in place. I colored in the parquet pattern with Zig markers - I really like the not-perfect watercolor look coloring this way provides! Before lifting up my stencil, I smooshed a Versamark ink pad over top of the colored area, being sure to get all the exposed areas. I carefully lifted the stencil, sprinkled on some clear embossing powder and heat set it.
I added a strip of black cardstock to hide where my stenciling stopped, and then die cut one of the diagonal stitched stax frames from white cardstock. To make it coordinate perfectly, I colored it in with the light blue Zig marker and then added my Versamark and clear EP and heat set it as well. I did the same with the 'Happy' sentiment. I adhered the square frame on a diagonal and added my die cut sentiment and the stamped Birthday label. A few of the sparkly Gumdrops embellishments finished up this card!
I hope you've enjoyed my card today. Stencils are such a versatile (and inexpensive!!) crafting tool....have fun creating with yours!
