Good morning, friends! It's Cassie here with a couple cards for you today. I'm one of the many who were drooling over the new My Favorite Things release, so today I used two sets for the same card design.
I followed Jennifer McGuire's example and started by cutting my cardstock to 3 1/2 by 11. Then you score the paper at 4 inches from one edge and 2 1/2 inches from the opposite edge. The flaps overlap and that will be where you place your die to cut the opening flap. I used the Sunny Studio Fishtail Banner dies. I made sure that the two flaps were over lapping where the die was going to makes the cuts. After the cuts were made I started stamping.
For this card I used the Llama Love stamp set's cactus images to create a pattern for the background. To color them in I used multiple green Copic combinations. I stamped, colored in, and fussy cut one of the llamas. I LOVE these adorable llamas. I think this is probably my favorite stamp set to date for MFT! Next I took the Stitch Line Circle die and colored it with an orange Copic marker for a pop of color. It's hard to see in this picture, but it gave a good point of interest! Then I stamped the sentiment on some kraft cardstock, cut it down and adhered it to the top flap.
For the second card I did nearly the exact same thing. I used the Harvest Buddies stamp set. I used the adorable raccoon, and nature scene building images. The sentiment I used was too big to place the same way as the first one so I put it on the bottom flap instead.
Alright! That's it for me today. I hope your all having a great hump day! I'm going to head back to the craft cave and keep working with my new MFT haul! Did you get anything from the new release? If so what?! I'll see you all again soon with another card :)
