Good morning, everyone! It's Cassie here with another fun card for you all! I'm super excited about this card because it uses a really fun die by Concord and 9th. Let's just jump right in :)
I was so pumped to finally use the Hugs Card die. I was worried it was going to be too complicated, but luckily it was not difficult at all to figure out. The interlocking feature is such a fun and unique touch. I started this card by cutting my Strathmore Bristol smooth paper to 5x11. I die cut the hugs letters off each side and creased the card so it folded in. Then I masked the card so I could work on the front panels that you see here. This is when I used my WPlus9 Friends For All Seasons: Spring set and stamped the images all over the front. I made sure that images were hanging off the side so it looked like a continuous pattern.
I used my Distress Inks to color the images. Like I've been doing lately, I used a messy water color technique. I LOVE doing this because I'm not the best at water coloring and it hides my imperfections. Once that was completely dry I used a marker to carefully color the letters of the hug die and added shimmer with my Spectrum Noir shimmer pen. I love this pen. It's got even more shimmer than the Wink of Stella. You can even see it in the photos it's so shimmery! I couldn't stop there though. I also added gloss with my Glossy Accents.
The inside of the card is very simple. I colored the back of the letters so that they matched the front and stamped the flowers and sentiment in the center. I wanted to tie in the colors from the front so I colored them to match.
That's it for me today! I really love the interactive portion of this card. I don't do many interactive cards so I'm especially excited about it. Have you tried this die or any other fun interactive techniques? If so how'd you like the results!? I'll see you again soon with another card! Thanks for stopping by!
