Good morning everyone! It's Cassie here, and I'm back with two fun cards to share with you. Today's cards feature the fun My Favorite Things set Llama Love stamp set and the Mini Fringe die. I wanted to create a card that had the texture of a piñata, and that had a piñata on the card front. Here's what I came up with:
I made the two cards with the same basic layout, but varied the color combinations that I used. For both cards I die cut enough of the fringe pieces to cover a card front. Then I took my Distress Inks and applied color with my mini ink blenders. You have to be careful when doing this because the little pieces are easily bent. For the first card I only applied the color at the bottom of the fringe to keep the card front plain enough for the colorful piñata. Then I spritzed them with water to get a splattered/distressed look.
Next I stamped two of the llamas from the stamp set onto some Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I colored one in with warm grays for the bright card front, and one with a rainbow of colors for the more pastel/light card front. I like them both a lot, but the rainbow one is more authentic piñata to me. I used my Copics for this, but you could use a lot of different things to achieve this look! I cut the piñatas out and ran a black marker along the edge.
To put the card together I attached all of the fringe pieces with tape runner, added a string to the back of the llama piñata and popped him on to the card with foam tape, and heat embossed the sentiment onto some kraft cardstock which was cut out and also applied with foam tape. I also gave the llamas google eyes to give the card a more playful look :)
And that's it for my cards today! I really enjoyed making this fun, bright card and I hope you liked it too! Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon with another card!
