Hi Friends! Kari back with you today sharing some rainbow goodness! First, before I get started with today's post, I would like to take a moment and thank all of the men and women in uniform on this Memorial Day who sacrifice themselves on the daily, so my family and I can live a life of freedom. Today is a day to remember and reflect, but honestly I feel we should do this everyday don't you?! You are all brave to serve, and I know that saying a simple thank you isn't enough compared to what you do, and what you sacrifice.
OK - so with that said - lets's move on to these One Layer Wonders :)
So if you are like me, coming up with ideas to create one layer cards can be a challenge. So, my go-to for this when I can't think of anything else, is to create a rainbow somehow somewhere on my card. Today, I wanted to share what I did with the Altenew Halftone Circles stamp set as well as the Concord & 9th Fill In Phrases stamp set. I did very simple stamping, so anyone could create these cards...heck you could even get your kids involved too!!
For all of the stamping I also used my Distress Oxide Inks in Fired Brick, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, and Wilted Violet.
I simply laid out my circles onto my white card base, and stamped down in a random pattern in rainbow pattern. Then, for my sentiment, I chose 'You make all the things better" and stamped it in one of my favorite black inks - VersaFine Onyx Black and the contrast between all of the color and the black sentiment really just makes me giddy!
This card came together so quickly, why not create another card. This time I switched it up a bit, and used the Concord & 9th stamp set, and stamped the flower image in black for a silhouette look, and stamped my sentiment in Rainbow order! Love this look too!!
To finish off my cards and give them an extra "something" I added some shimmer spritz, and it really makes these cards complete!! Rainbow and Shimmer! I'm sold! HAHA!
If you'd like to see the shimmer in action - I have a video tutorial as well over at my Youtube Channel
Thank you my friends for stopping in today! I will see you next Monday right back here!
Kari
