Hello there! Gladys here and I'm excited to be back on the BRI blog today. I have a mermaid shaker card for you with lots of products from different companies. Let's get started shall we?
I always start out by cutting watercolor paper using a stitched rectangle die for my card panel. Then I create my own background colors, this time I used distress oxides inks in wilted violet, broken china, cracked pistachio and fossilized amber. As you can see these inks blend so well together you won't even break a sweat! I splattered some water onto my panel and let it completely air dry.
While that was drying I colored my images from the Mermazing stamp set by My Favorite Things using copic markers. I also used MFT dye inks for the solid images such as the corals and kelp. I used the Mermazing coordinating dies to cut my images.
Back to my card panel, I used the lacy layers die from Waffle Flowers that I scored awhile back during one of the daily deals Vanessa was having. This die is very pretty, it has a scallop edge along with piercing details inside and outside which adds a nice touch. Before adding the acetate I placed my card panel on top of my card base and only glued the inner panel that way it is lined up nicely. I then heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set on the center of the panel and also arranged some of my images. Now I was ready to create the shaker component. I used various Pretty Pink Posh iridescent sequins to match my color scheme. I adhered acetate and foam tape onto the frame and placed it onto my card base. Lastly, I placed the mermaid, rock and kelp on top of the acetate.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed this card! Have a wonderful day!!
Its Wonderful !

DeleteLove, love, love this card and your mermaid is stunning!! Do you remember the Copic color numbers you used for her (or at least her hair)? I would love to copy your card, but my mermaid must be as close to yours as possible because this the the prettiest mermaid I've seen.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly thank you so much for the sweet comment!! I colored her hair with V09, V04, B04, B02, and BG32. I'm so happy you like it. Have fun coloring!
