Hello Crafty friends!
I'm so inspired to try new things by what I see on Insta, Pinterest and Youtube on a daily basis and I'm sure many of you are the same.
This week, I was totally inspired by a beautifully soft watercoloured card by Dawn Waleslagle (who is the founder of WPlus9) and I though this look would translate well to some subtle but special cards for Mother's Day which is just around the corner for many of us.

Its the perfect opportunity to use the WPlus products Happy Mail and Strictly Sentiments 4! (bonus is they are both on sale at Butterfly reflections inc! at the time of writing this blog post).
Wplus9 stamps have delicate, fine-lined images - perfect for that light whimsical feel. The stamp styles totally complement the softness of watercolouring! I'll admit....I'm not an avid water-colourer, but have to say this was fun and easier that you think!
I used Tim Holts Distress Watercolour paper and guided by Dawn's technique, stamped the images in Frayed Burlap Distress ink (stamp off first onto a scrap piece so the image is only alight impression). The bunny was stamped in Hickory Smoke. I coloured the images with distress inks and my waterbrush.
I stamped the sentiments in Vintage photo - using my misti I stamped 2 times to get a nice solid colour. I stamped the butterfly trail in Tea Die Distress ink.
For the second card, I used the same technique and ink colours but just stamped the bear and the butterfly similar to Dawn's card. Another admission - I do ship my stamps if the need arises!! - I know some of you will gasp in horror!! In this case it's necessary - I had to 'modify' the Mom to Mum as obviously spellings are different here in Australia! I think it turned out ok!!
I also stamped a small sentiment from the Happy Mail set & attached with 3D foam.
Hope you enjoyed the cards - love trying new techniques and the sharing of ideas and inspirations is what makes the cardmaking world wonderful!
