Hey crafty friends!
It's Jess and I'm excited to share this card featuring Citrus Trimmings from Studio Katia. When I saw this set, I just knew I had to have it. So, one order (of way more than I intended to buy, as per usual) from Butterfly Reflections Ink later, I was ready to start creating.
I started off by stamping one of the large border stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black ink since I knew I'd be doing some Copic coloring. I colored up all of the adorable lemon and lime images and then fussy cut the whole thing.
I grabbed some patterned cardstock from my stash and paired it with some plain black cardstock. I love how that strip of black gives a nice contrast between the light yellow and the citrus images. I layered everything up and adhered it so my card base.
I snagged some cute green and white twine and positioned it on the top portion of the card. Then, I die cut one of the smaller circles from the My Favorite Things Inside Out Stitched Circle STAX and inked it with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.
I thought it needed a little something extra, so I stamped and colored an extra lemon slice and fussy cut it. I popped it up on foam for dimension and finished my card off with a few clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
I really love how fresh and bright this card is. This is not really my normal style of cardmaking, but I love that I was able to step out of my comfort zone and create something really fresh (get it... like fresh fruit? Okay, I'll stop).
What's your favorite realistic stamp set? Don't have any yet? Why not start with this one!
Hugs and love to you,
