Hey friends!!! Britney here with a fun birthday card series featuring My Favorite Things products. Here’s another set very unlike my normal style of scene card, but I couldn’t resist these adorable critters. I had to have the whole set.
I like to start with making my backgrounds first and build from there. I inked up a panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink. I had a bit heavier hand at the bottom and went lighter towards the top.
I used the MFT Ray of Light Stencil and inked the panel up again with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink. After everything thing was dry, I used the next largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frame and cut a frame directly out of my panel.
I also cut three additional frames from plain white cardstock to stack together to give my frame some dimension. I cut all my animals (MFT Friendly Fox, Little Piggy, Cottontail Cutie, Racoon Cutie, and Puppy Love) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock.
I was channeling Nichol Sphor when making these and I used Copics to color my animal pieces instead of using different color cardstock. I like the shading I’m able to get from coloring them with Copics.
I followed this same process when cutting out the heart from the Straight from the Heart Die-namics. I cut the arrow out of chrome paper. I assembled all my animals.
I left all the arms off adding them around the heart. One thing I did different for the piggy was I cut three more noses from white cardstock and stacked those together to give the nose a snout look.
I added highlights with a white gel pen and a black glaze pen on the eyes and some of the noses. I cut a white strip of paper wide enough to hold the Happy Birthday sentiment. I used the Block Happy Birthday Die-namic to cut my letters out of red cardstock to match my hearts.
I hope you enjoyed this fun set of birthday cards! Have a great day!
They're all so fab Britney!
