Hi crafty friends, it's Heather here with you today sharing a not-so-spooky birthday card threesome that I created by mixing up Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant products with a dash of Distress Oxides for fun!
OK, I confess, I'm NOT good at making holiday cards (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc). However, I LOVE making seasonal themed BIRTHDAY cards for my friends and family members!! If you're on my Birthday Card List - and your birthday falls in September or October - you're probably getting a Halloween themed card haha! So, you get the point, friends, these LOOK like Halloween cards - but I don't send Halloween cards - they're actually Birthday cards with a Halloweeny theme!
These cards started last year, actually! I used a combination of Mijello Mission Gold and Daniel Smith water colors to paint the ghosts from Lawn Fawn's Booyah Stamp Set and cut them out using the matching dies. They then sat in my craft room waiting for the perfect project... THEN Mama Elephant went along and released the most adorable Little Boo Agenda Stamp Set and all I could think to myself was that my Lawn Fawn Ghosts were about to become ghostly parents y'all!!!! Bahahaha I know it's crazy but, well, I'm crazy. So, I used the same water colors to color Mama Elephant's teeny ghosts and cut them out using the coordinating dies
Then I went to town creating night sky backgrounds using several Distress Oxides (Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberries, Spun Sugar, and Scattered Straw). I spritzed them with water/let it dry and then splattered a bit of India Ink onto the backgrounds. Once they dried I cut a few clouds and Polaroid frames out of heavy white card stock, stamped a few fun sentiments from both stamp sets, and popped them up with foam tape. The inside of the cards say "BOOYAH it's your birthday!"
Thanks for peeking! So, tell me, do you guys send seasonal/holiday themed birthday cards too, or is it just me??
Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for the first time and loved it! I cut my own Tim Holtz watercolor paper to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer. I stamped my sentiments that are by Lawn Fawn Hello Baby with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks . I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies for the girl and Magical Dragons for th
