Welcome crafty friends! Candice with you today starting my Christmas cards early and I love to create with non traditional color palettes!
I used lots of products from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink:
- Mama Elephant Yappy Woofmas stamps & coordinating dies
- Mama Elephant Snow Friends stamps & coordinating dies
- Mama Elephant Oh Kitty Tree stamps & coordinating dies
- Mama Elephant Big Happy Holiday die
- Hello Bluebird Typed Christmas stamps
- Trinity Stamps Scalloped Card Panel and Banner dies
- Sunny Studio Slimline Nature Borders dies (snowhills)
I began my slimline card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which is just right for your standard size envelopes.
For my background, I first die cut the scalloped panel from Bristol Smooth, heat embossed some white snow and inked with broken china and tumbled glass and adhered to the front of the card. I then die cut 3 snowhills and adhered to the bottom. I then die cut multiples of the Happy Holiday and inked the top layer with wilted violet and shaded lilac.
Next, I stamped all the images from the stamp sets listed above, colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I colored a few of them with a gold pen and added some gold accents to the images.
To put the card together, I stamped the sentiment on a banner and adhered under the happy holiday with foam tape. The rest of the images I added with either glue or foam tape to add lots of dimension.
I hope you find some inspiration for creating some of your Christmas cards with fun colors!
