Hello crafty friends and happy Artist Sunday! Ashley D. here. I’m so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog on the most perfect day to help celebrate those of us with a passion for creativity. The holiday season is officially underway, and I’m so excited to be finally breaking out all those fun Christmas supplies. Today I created a fun card featuring a wintery scene with some of my most favorite Mama Elephant Little Agenda friends.
I started by ink-blending a background with Distress Oxide ink (Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Candied Apple, Barn Door, Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw), onto Bristol Smooth cardstock, then die cut it with the Mama Elephant Hillside Cover Creative Cut. I ink-blended another scrap piece of Bristol with the red and yellow Distress Oxide colors and die cut it using the new Mama Elephant Big Oh So Jolly Creative Cuts for my bold sentiment.
I cut and colored the mountain backdrop from the Mama Elephant Scene Builder stamp (and coordinating Scene Builder Creative Cuts), and gave all three a good splattering of watered-down white acrylic paint for snowfall. I paired the mountain backdrop with the house/mountain scene from the Mama Elephant Snow Globe Scenes, which coordinates perfectly, to act as Santa’s forest cottage. I colored a variety of Mama Elephant little agenda characters with Copic markers and a white gel pen (Little Fox, Little Sloth - a.k.a. Yeti, Little Elf, Little Snowman, Little Reindeer, Little Santa and Little Agenda Trains) and added them to the scene with foam adhesive.
I love the versatility of the Little Fox Agenda set, the newest addition to the line. Instead of a traditional red fox, I colored him more like a Husky dog, but he could easily become and an Arctic Fox too. A perfect way to bring that set into winter! Hope you all have had a wonderful holiday weekend, thank you for stopping by, and go support some local artisans today! And don’t forget the awesome BRI Black Friday sale going on NOW through Monday!
