Hello, Everyone! Hope you all enjoyed a lovely holiday weekend. I am back to share a sweet slimline Christmas card. I don't know about you, but I keep seeing pictures of serene mountain villages on my social media feeds. It really makes me want to be in one of those towns, enjoying what looks to be a peaceful, quiet, no kids yelling and fighting, Covid-free, lovely place. I don't often make cards that are focused purely on kraft card stock, but I always love the look of them, and really wanted to have a muted tone-on-tone look for this card. I knew I wanted to use Trinity Stamp's Slimline Rooftops Border die, but I wanted to use it in a different way. So, I opted for a vertical slimline. I cut a few full die-cuts out of the kraft card stock and then cut them into individual houses. I began arranging them, and rearranging them, and then rearranging them some more! The options are endless. I also taped pieces of pastel card stock behind the windows. I cut a panel of kraft card stock using Mama Elephant's Slim Card Basics die set. I wanted to use this big sentiment from MFT, so I made sure the arrangement of houses would accommodate that. I stamped the sentiment first, using white pigment ink. I thought about embossing it in white, but I really love the soft look that the pigment ink gives.
I made sure that my arrangement of houses would fit on the panel, so I did do some trimming (and also took some liberties with a few rooflines). I also brushed the top edges of the houses with the white pigment ink to make it look like snow on the roofs. Then I just applied them to the panel with liquid glue. I finished up the card with some tiny snowflakes from this Lawn Fawn stamp set and some dots of white gel pen to mimic snow.
