Hello friends! I'm so happy to be back on the blog to share my card inspired by the current moodboard challenge. Did you know there is an Instagram account for this challenge? Follow @BRImoodboardchallenge to play along with the monthly color challenge and you could win a $20 gift card to the shop!
For today's card I used lots of products from Lawn Fawn using only die cuts. This is different from the cards I usually create but I'm happy with the end results. I really wanted to play with the stitched poinsettia die cuts after seeing all of the beautiful cards made with it.
To begin, I looked through my cardstocks and pulled out the colors similar to the moodboard. I know poinsettia's are normally red but I thought the pink and teal would be great together. I think it's such a pretty combination. I cut all the petals from pink cardstock and the leaves from a dark teal cardstock. To add some sparkle I cut the stamen from gold glitter cardstock.
For interest I ink blended picked raspberry on the edges of each of the petals. I also used a small paint brush to curl the ends of the petals to give it some dimension. I placed a small dot of glue on the center of the petals to glue them together. For the card panel I used a gingham pattern paper to match the pink poinsettias. I also cut a scallop frame from light teal cardstock and vellum.
For the sentiment I used the scripty merry die cut from light gray cardstock 4x and once on silver glitter cardstock. I adhered the poinsettia's on bottom left corner of the frame. To complete my card I added some details using white gel pen on the leaves, english mustard crystal drops on the center of the stamen, and Studio Katia crystals.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope it inspired you to join the December moodboard. Be sure to tag #BRImoodboard on instagram for a chance to win $20 gift certificate to Butterfly Reflections Ink!
