Hello crafty friends! As the blog post title says, today's card embraces classic Christmas but with a touch of cute! Classic Christmas colors, check! Festive wreath, check! Classic Christmas plaid pattern, check! And a cute Lawn Fawn Christmas-y deer, check!!
I love mixing brands and using new products with older favorites! I saw the new Concord & 9th plaid turnabout stamp and love how it can be a versatile background for occasions beyond the holidays. I made the background with some classic Christmas colors-- red, green, black, and silver.
I heat embossed the silver but let me give you some tips if you heat emboss with this stamp!! (1) Make sure your background is COMPLETELY dry, especially if you use pigment inks or else the embossing powder will stick to it. (2) Don't forget to use a powder tool before you stamp with embossing ink! (3) Stamp with embossing ink/heat emboss on your last "turn."
To create the wreath, I used 3 shades of green cardstock for the leaves. I created my own red glitter paper for the bow and berries by using red glitter embossing powder. For the sentiment, I layered black, silver glitter, and red cardstocks together for extra dimension.
