Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Hey Everyone, its Trish from Techniques by Trish here as your guest designer today.  Its been quite some time since I've had time to craft as we just recently moved our family from New Jersey to North Dakota.  After the how was unpacked and the kids were settled into their new routine, I was finally able to unpack my crafting corner and create! For today's card, I'm featuring one of my favorite stamp sets from Neat & Tangled because it is so incredibly versatile.  It can be used for various different occasions and is easy to put together for a card.  And as a bonus, the Succulent Journaling Card Stamp Set & Die Combo is currently on sale in the BRI store, so head on over and pick it up! I paired the stamp set with some Ranger Super Fine Detailed White Embossing Powder and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to create a really easy but beautiful watercolor look for the card.   Added some glitter card stock and sequins and this card came together quite nicely!

Hi there, Butterfly Ink-ers!  Kimberly from Kimplete Kreativity joining you here on the BRI blog today.   Don't you just love when you are able to create multiple cards from just one background?   Today I have three cards to share with you, all using just one background.   I found that after creating my first card I had scrap pieces left that were too fun to toss in the trash, so I just kept going, lol! I started by stamping Concord & 9th's Mosaic Turnabout stamp using four colors of Catherine Pooler inks (Party Dress, Lime Rickey, Fiesta Blue & Sauna).   Next, I covered the entire stamped piece with a layer of Nuvo Glimmer Paste (in Moonstone).   I love how it lets the colors show through - like sugared candy! Once the glimmer paste had a few minutes to dry, I used a circle die to cut a hole from the center of the panel.   I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in the center of a pink card base, and adhered the sentiment strip to the back side of

I've got a super sweet baby card for you today featuring Honey Bee Stamps products. I started stamping and Copic coloring the sweet critters from the Forest Friends Stamp Set and cut it out with the coordinating Forest Friends Dies . I used a softer, pastel color palette as I knew I wanted to repurpose this stamp set into a baby card! Aren't those critters just the sweetest? I then stamped the sentiment onto a mint green panel, which is a mixture of stamps from Gather Together and Flakey Sentiments Stamp Set. This was adhered over a tiny scalloped border cut from MFT's Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames  and all was adhered to a light blue card base. Hello, BRI friends! It's Dana here with another Wednesday inspiration. Today, I pulled out Hero Arts Woodland Tea Party stamp set again and created spring tea party card. Here is what I came up with. To begin, I stamped images from Hero Arts Tea Woodland Party stamp set with Altenew Permanat Black onto bristol paper. I mainly colored them with Copic markers and used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers for some of them as well. I added Signo White where I wanted and fussy cut all pieces with scissors. I prepared another bristol card stock and ink blended them with Distress Oxide Inks. I used Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, Peeled Paint and Bundled Sage with Mini blending tool. I arranged all elements on the background panel and mounted them using Plus Glue Tape and foam adhesive. I then stamped sentiment from same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black. To finish, I mounted bristol panel on A2 sized black card base and embellished some clear droplets here and there using Ra

Good morning! Alix here to share a birthday + love card with you by using Pretty Pink Posh products. I made this card thinking it is perfect for a friend who has his anniversary and wife's birthday on the same day. I combined Pretty Pink Posh January and March releases to make this card having double meanings. To begin with my card making, I stamped my images from Pretty Pink Posh Buuny Friends stamp set and Birthday Friends stamp set onto Neenah Solar white 80lbs cardstock paper with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, then colored them with my copic markers.I used coordinating dies to cut them out and set aside. To create the background panel, I used a flat brush created some Not So perfect lines onto Tim Holtz distress watercolor paper using Gansai Tambi watercolor paint in #32 red mixed with #10 white, then splatter the same paint over the upper part of the paper. Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by the BRI blog today, it’s my turn today and I have two rather pawsome cards, if I may say so myself. It’s no secret that I am a certified crazy dog lady. I would have a whole house full if I could, seriously! Colouring dog stamps is about as close as I’m gonna get to have more than my two little fur babies in the house though and I do tend to go to town with the coloring, putting the images aside and then use them later. For today’s cards I skipped the ‘putting them aside’ step and went ahead and made two cards right away. High five anyone? Happy Spring friends!   Jacquie here today filling in on this first Sunday of Spring. The weather has warmed up wear I am, and I'm seeing flowers and bright fun colors everywhere! I was very excited that Vanessa started carrying Catherine Pooler inks and stamps ....I've been hearing great things about these.  And they do NOT disappoint!  Beautiful colors and coverage, and they are so versatile - you can emboss, color blend, and each time you get flawless stamping!  I'm in love.  (Ahem...I may or may not have gotten the entire collection. ;)) On to the cards!  Both cards were made using the Modern Calla Lilies set from WPlus9 .  I happen to LOVE this flower...so elegant, and simple.   I stamped all the flowers on Bristol smooth paper, and colored them with a sponge applicator using the Catherine Pooler inks -Aquatini, Mint To Be, All that Jazz, Tiara and Garden Party .  I cut them out and had enough for two cards, so  I made two! Hi, everyone! It's Lynnea and I have a cute little Lawn Fawn card to share today! My sister has a snowglobe with farm animals inside and it inspired me to make this card using stamps from the new Lawn Fawn  Hay There  stamp set! This card is super simple, but I love how cute it is! I started by stamping the snowglobe image from the  Avery Elle Snowglobe  stamp set onto white paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I die cut some green cardstock with the  Grassy Border  die from Lawn Fawn and some white cardstock with the  Little Picket Fence  border die also from Lawn Fawn. I wanted my whole scene to be inside of the snow globe, so I also stamped the snowglobe onto my grass and picket fence borders so that I could cut them out to be the shape of the snow globe. I stamped a bunch of images from the  Lawn Fawn Hay There  stamp set and colored them with my Copics. I also added some gray shading to the inside of the snowglobe and brown to the base. Hello BRI friends!  Norine from The Velvet Lemon back with you today with a critter card to share!  I'll confess, I'm not even positive I know what kind of critter this is, but that didn't stop me from having fun stamping, coloring and creating a card with him!   I used an aDORable stamp set from Waffle Flower called, Summer Time to stamp on Neenah Solar White card stock, color with Copic markers, and fussy cut all the pieces. To create the background of the card, I stamped the horizon line onto some Post-It paper and cut it out to use as a mask.  Then I used a foam blending tool to apply Ranger Distress Ink (Faded Jeans, Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough) above and below the horizon.  Then I spritzed it with water and daubed off some color as it dried. Hi Crafty Friends! Ali here with two cards made using the wonderful Sayings from the beautiful Wings of Hope Stamp set from Altenew along with Persian Motifs and Beautiful Day stamp sets, also from Altenew.The sentiments of this set offer both support and sympathy - two of the reasons why I love being able to handmake a special card for a recipient.    Both cards are simple but celebrate the classic beauty of these sets. The first card is on a kraft card base. I stamped the sentiment from the wings of hope set on some kraft cart in versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder . I trimmed it and backed with a piece of vellum . I then stamped the flowers from Persian Motifs on some velum with versamark ink and white embossed, making sure the heat gun was quite hot and heating from the back of the vellum to prevent buckling.I die-cut the images.I arranged the sentiment in the middle of the card and adhered with 3D foam. Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana here with another Wednesday inspiration. Today, I used Hero Arts and Waffle Flower Crafts products I recently got from Butterfly Reflections Ink shop. Here is what I came up with. I started by watercoloring the big tree for background. I brushed brown shades of Mijello Mission Gold Watercolor paints with water on watercolor paper. After dried it completely, I drew woodgrain with general fine liner. I only have a water based pen with brown color, but it's not bad if you don't have plan to retouch it with water.  Next, I stamped images from Hero Arts Woodland Tea Party Stamp Set and colored them with Copic markers and cut them using scissors. It's a my first Hero Arts clear stamp and I really love this! There are many cute images to be able to build several fun scenes! Good Morning and Happy Tuesday, I hope you all had a great Great St. Patrick's day last week. Easter Day is around the corner. I made this card today so I could prepare it early and avoid doing it at the last minute. I am so in love with these Bunnies and flower elements from Pretty Pink Posh Bunny Friends stamp set . I die cut them with coordinating dies and colored with Copic Markers couple weeks ago. I did A LOT. I meant I probably colored at least 30+ bunnies and 100+ flowers and foliage. Call me crazy. But it is so handy to make a card whenever I want to with free of stress. Now let us turn the topic into making this card. To prepare the background, I used a medium flat head brush applying Distress Oxide in Picked Raspberry mixed with water, and applied on a piece Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper . I kept moving around the water and add more color so I could build a little bit color gradient. I dried them with my Heat tool  and splattered some leftover paint ov

Hi guys! Erica here! It’s Monday which means it’s my turn back on the BRI blog. Recently, I’ve been totally obsessed with alcohol inks and I’ve made so many background pieces it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous. I’ve challenged myself to make cards with them all before I’m allowed to make any more. In a recent blog post on my own blog , I made seven cards and told myself I could play with the inks again buuuuuuut then I realised I had another EIGHT backgrounds laying around...! I had to put my foot down with myself and set another goal of using more before I can make a single other piece. With that in mind, I made three cards for today’s post. I picked out three panels and adhered them to the card bases with double sided tape and then trimmed the excess off with scissors. The pieces I picked out ranged from a dark blue to a light blue, aqua and white mix. I also had the idea to make the overall design the same for all three cards, just changing up the colour schemes. Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink. This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a card that is near and dear to my heart! My son and his sweet bride-to-be are having their first wedding shower today so this is the perfect time to share the card I created for their special day... I absolutely love these beautiful swans from the Splendid Swans Stamp Set from My Favorite Things.  After coloring, I used the coordinating die set to cut out my images. My background was created with the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil from MFT and Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick.   I used Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon to create the water.  It is so easy to blend multiple colors of Distress Ink or to work with stencils when using the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and I always love the results. After finishing my background, I adhered my colored images with  Scotch Foam Mounting Tape. For finishing touches, I added a little sparkle with a  Clear Spectrum Noir
