Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Hello everyone! Today is my last post as part of the DT here at Butterfly Reflections Ink and I thought I'd go out with a big of a bang. Or rather pop-up-box card, that's the equivalent of a 'bang' in crafting, isn't it? I have had such a great time on this DT, it's by far the breeziest team I have every been on. No drama, no confusions etc. Just loads of inspiration and so much support from the current DT as well as the "oldies" who are on hand for help and the goodies are a big plus too, I'm not going to lie. If you want to be part of a great DT, you should definitely apply to this one! Right, I'm here to talk about a card, so I'm gonna get on with that now rather than getting even more nostalgic. Hello crafty friends (and a goodbye for now too!!) Well, it's here - my last blog post for my DT term here at Butterfly Reflections Ink! It's been great fun, thanks so much for the support and I will hopefully see you every now and again for a post here and there!! As mother's day is on it's way (hope you have all left your crafty wish lists in strategic places so the family can see what you want!!! - or they can just get you a voucher from Vanessa at BRI hehe!!) I used this cuter than cute stamp & die set from Avery Elle - Pixie Dust .  I had a fun - concept in mind of how Mums are the "cleaning fairy", "cooking fairy", "washing fairy" etc - just a thank you to the "fairy" in your household! Had to put a little interactive slider element into it too so she could fly!   To make this card, I started by cutting a stitched rectangle and sponging it with Distress Oxide inks - tattered Rose & Worn Lips

Hello everyone, Coralynn here with a wedding card for you.  I have always loved these dies from Concord and 9th.  They work for so many cards. Here I took pink and blue oxide distress inks (any colour will work) and added each colour to a piece of water colour paper.  I then sprits it with gold spray I had in my stash and water to move the colour around.  I then heat set it and I did this a couple of times until I got the results I was looking for. I then to the butterfly from the Floral & Flutter dies by Concord & 9th and cut out one from each colour of distress ink and adhered them to the card base.  I then took the sentiment from MFT's Make a Wish stamp set and stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and then popped it up with foam tape. I then added a few dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in pale gold and took a gold gel pen I had and added more dots to finish the card. Thanks for stopping by!   Coralynn 

Hello and Good-bye.  Norine here, from The Velvet Lemon , with my last post for this Design Team term.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 months here and I hope I've shared with you some ideas and techniques that have inspired you.  I hope to continue sharing my work here in the future when there are gaps in the blog schedule that need to be filled!  Todays cards were just such a pleasure to create!  I used the stamp set from Strawberry Jude called Squirrel Mail , as well as the Focus on You floral stamps from Altenew to create the little flower bush around the base of the mailbox post.  I stamped with Copic friendly ink and colored the images with Copic markers.  I also stamped the images onto Eclipse masking paper so that I could blend-ink the background with Ranger Distress Oxide inks .  To delineate the line between grass and sky better, I sketched a line and added some grass strokes with a Copic Multiliner pen. Hello Crafty friends! I'm so inspired to try new things by what I see on Insta, Pinterest and Youtube on a daily basis and I'm sure many of you are the same. This week, I was totally inspired by a beautifully soft watercoloured card by Dawn Waleslagle (who is the founder of WPlus9) and I though this look would translate well to some subtle but special cards for Mother's Day which is just around the corner for many of us. Its the perfect opportunity to use the WPlus products Happy Mail and Strictly Sentiments 4!   (bonus is they are both on sale at Butterfly reflections inc! at the time of writing this blog post). Wplus9 stamps have delicate, fine-lined images - perfect for that light whimsical feel. The stamp styles totally complement the softness of watercolouring!  I'll admit....I'm not an avid water-colourer, but have to say this was fun and easier that you think! Happy Wednesday, BRI friends! It's Dana with my final blog post as a part of the Butterfly Reflections Ink design team. I don't believe how quickly the 4 months have flown by. Especially for today, I'm sharing two cards featuring many Altenew products. Let's get started! I began by die cutting both backgrounds from white card stock using Altenew Dotted Debossing Cover Die. I then stamping layering images from Altenew Garden Treasure Stamp Set. For my first card, I used Altenew Tea Party, Summer Afternoon and Green Fields Mini Cube Set. I stamped from solid image of bottom layer to top. I then finished off each stampings by inking outlines using the lightest color which I used for the bottom layer. For small flowers, I stamped them with Memento Desert Sand and colored with Altenew Artist Markers Set B. I then fussy cut all images using scissors and added details to flowers and leaves with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Signo White. I splattered dar

Good Morning, Alix here to say Hi and bye "temporarily". I had a great time spending last four months hanging out with everyone here. This is my last card for Spring Design Team term. But I will be back sometimes to the blog and show you guys more of my crafting experiments and adventures! Today's card is all about how grateful for us to have our moms. I used multiple Lawn Fawn stamp sets. Lawn Fawn Rub-A-Dub-Dub stamp set for ducklings, Lawn Fawn Mermaid for you stamp set for you for rocks, Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome stamp set for grasses, Lawn Fawn Happy Village stamp set for the house, trees, clouds and sun. I colored all images with copic markers and set aside. To build a scene, I wanted to create a lovely and calm scene of Mommy duck taking all kids to river playing while sun was just rising up. Hi guys! Erica back on the BRI blog today, with my penultimate blog post as part of the Design Team here at Butterfly Reflections Ink . I can’t believe how quickly these 4 months have gone and I have so enjoyed my time here, I can only hope I have provided some inspiration for you all. Right, before I get too soppy and emotional I am going to get on with today’s card. I have used a flower stamp from Studio Katia called ‘ Thank You Very Much ’, which I heat embossed with Gold Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger Ink . I stamped this up with VersaMark directly onto my Canson XL watercolour pad four times and sprinkled the embossing powder directly onto it. This was NOT a good idea by the way. DO not attemp this yourself. Save yourself the hassle of getting embossing powder all over your craft room and pull the sheet off the pad before stamping! Hello crafty friends!  It's Jung here, and today I am sharing a trio of cards featuring the cutest bunnies from Hello Bluebird stamps. Are you guys comfortable with no-line coloring?  I've only attempted no-line coloring a couple of times, so I decided to practice.  I ended up trying it with 3 different mediums: color pencils, watercolor, and Copic markers.  Funnily enough, the medium I am most comfortable with turned out to be the hardest: Copic markers, and the medium that I have the least experience using turned out to be my favorite: Prismacolor color pencils.  I think it's probably because I can sharpen the color pencils to be super sharp, and can fit in these tiny images.   To make my card: I stamped some of the images from the  Hello Bluebird McGregor's Garden stamp set  onto white cardstock.  I used Lawn Fawn Manatee ink for the images I was going to use the Copic Markers and Prismacolors, and I used Distress Ink in shaded lilac for the image I w

   Hello crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Gladys here and I'm sharing this two scene in one card today. I have quite a few steps to cover so let's get started shall we.   So the weather where I live has been bonkers lately. In one week we've had rain, wind, sunshine, and winter temperature...I'm so confused sometimes I don't know what to wear for the day. (Ok I lied that's pretty much everyday for me, the struggle is real people!) Well today my card is all about weather and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is ready for warmer temps and to see all the pretty flowers in full bloom.Yes bring on the sunshine because I sure need some Vitamin D.    For my card I used a lot of MFT products. I adore their new stamp set called Rain or Shine from the amazing Birdie Brown collection.
