February Mood Board

Most of the US seems to still be covered in snow right now, but we're seeing an early spring here in Oregon. It's raining consistently, flowers are blooming, the air is cool...This girl is ready for some color! What do you think of this month's mood board? Link me up to your own projects using these colors and I'll be sure to come back and share my own as well!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hey, everyone! As much as I wanted to play along in this fun Coffee Lovers blog hop ( Spring Edition ! haha), I just couldn't find the time with the kids being on school vacation this week! Lame, I know. :P I am however still one of the sponsors! Create a card and link up for your chance to win a prize from my shop or one of the other Super Sponsors . Enjoy the hop and please leave lots of love for more chances to win flash prizes and/or blog candy.  So go ahead and grab a hot cup of whatever your preference is and use that caffeine to get hoppin'!!! ;) Also, I'm trying to get more likes on my shop's FB page . Dino Delight

Paper piecing and creating cute scenes.  Two things I LOVE about stamping.  Adorable stamps and fun patterned papers make it so easy to do!  I started with the Project Life Playful Edition 6x6 paper pad and Cuteasaurus by Paper Smooches . Is it just me or do others like fussy cutting images too? I don't find it tedious at all. So soothing! Stamp images on patterned paper in black ink , put on favourite TV show, and cut as you watch. :) Easy! The hearts were stamped in Grape Jelly ink and then again over top with Versamark and heat embossed with sparkly embossing powder . After stamping the sentiment, the final touch was adding white gel pen to the eyes and teeth. The dinos were popped up with foam tape.  Paper piecing can be addictive! I think piecing Surf & Turf from Paper Smooches, Critters in the Jungle from Lawn Fawn, or the umbrella from Weather It by Avery Elle would be adorable.  Have a great day everyone!

Bugs & Kisses

Hello everyone! Coralynn here with a colourful card as I am getting a little bit tired of seeing white snow everywhere around me!  So I thought I would do a card with lots of bright colours. This is a 4bar size card base and I used distress inks for the background.  I took the edge of a scrap piece of card stock and pushed the ink off the card stock on to the base overlapping the colours.  I stamped the sentiment and lady bugs with black ink and watercolored them with distress ink as well. Be sure to pop over to the the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop as there are awesome goodies Vanessa adds every day!  Also stay tuned for a couple more spring releases that are on the way!!! Supplies: Lawn Fawn Bugs & Kisses  stamps & dies Ranger Distress inks See you again soon! Coralynn

Unicorn

Hi everyone. It's Shawna back with another 8.5x11 layout share.  Today I have a layout using the beautiful Bella Rouge collection by Pink Paislee. I think this is one of my favorites right now.  It has such pretty pinks and yellows which i love! For this layout I took a humorous approach. This is actually a photo of myself around Halloween time in a costume store. Everyone likes to get a little silly so I thought this would make for a fun page.  I did lots of layering with the papers and the unicorn die cut was, of course, the perfect touch.  I also really love the sparkle of the sequin butterflies. Here is a look at my page. Thanks so much for stopping by!

You're Awesome

Hi all!  Angel here with a CAS card using some Waffle Flower stamps .  I just adore this In Every Way stamp set, so I'm using it again !  I used several MFT inks and then embossed the sentiment in Gold EP .  I cut out part of the image with an element from one of my Blueprints die-namics sets, then layered it with metallic gold paper, then placed it back over where I had die cut it.  With all the pretty colors and the gold embossing, I didn't think any embellishments were needed.   Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to stop by the Butterfly Reflections Ink Store !!!  Vanessa is expecting LOTS of new goodies in soon and she is Awesome with getting them uploaded to the store ASAP and her shipping is just as quick!  :D Hugs ~ Angel

Perfect Wedding Day

Happy Monday! Just to start the week off with a little fun I should let you know that this is going to be a FUN week in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink shop. Stayed tuned for new releases from CHA, new MFT, and Avery Elle. Check back everyday for new goodies. :)  My card today uses Waffle Flower's In Every Way set for an elegant wedding card. Check out how some of the other designers with BRI have used this fun set. Here , here and here are perfect examples!  Clearly we love this set!  For this easy to-put-together card I embossed my sentiment in gold on white cardstock and adhered it to some lovely patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6x6 collection. The Lawn Fawn hearts were die cut from scrap white cardstock, coated in Versamark , then embossed in gold.  Thanks for stopping in today! Have a great day and don't forget to see what the store has in new for you...there are still some awesome new Lawn Fawn goodies available too.

Guest Designer Sunday with Annette Witherspoon

Hello Butterfly Inker Fans. Annette Witherspoon here again as your friendly February guest designer. Today, I made a funky, freestyle collage tag. First, I stamped a kraft tag with the Falling Hearts background stamp by Neat and Tangled using White Unicorn pigment ink from Hero Arts. This has to be my favorite ink. The images always turn out opaque, giving you a nice, crisp look. You can find it in the  store  in the small cubes. Now, for the star of the show – the  Serendipity 6x6 paper pad by Dear Lizzy . All of the banners are from this super trendy set. I love it. The  gold heart Thicker  is part of the same collection. Speaking of trendy, I used the new In Every Way set by Waffleflower Crafts to stamp the sentiments. If you look closely at the word “Perfect” you may notice that I double stamped it. I first stamped it in  Memento Luxe Wedding Dress   and then stamped over it in black just slightly below and to the right of the first image. It gives it

Hello...Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone!   Coralynn here with a shaker card for you today. I am in love with the WPlus9 release and I have to say that the Sunshine layers dies have to be my all-time FAVOURITE!   I've been using it like crazy! Now, let's get to the card.  I used the Sunshine Layers scalloped edge die to cut out the panel as well as a circle die to make the opening for the shaker.  I stamped the heart shaped talk bubble and the Hello sentiment from the Bubble Talk stamp set with Memento black ink on the back panel. I used foam tape to close in the sequins and glued some of the sequins to the card base along with some white enamel dots just to add interest.  For the elephant, I coloured him in with my copics and I did some partial die cutting so that it would be all one layer.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom corner from the Unforgettable stamp set in Memento black ink.  For the sweet little elephant, I coloured him in with my copics and I partially die cut h

A Very Lovely Day

Hey guys! It's Shawna and I am back with another 8.5x11 layout to share.  Recently we had some beautiful weather here in WA state so i had to do a layout of my daughter playing outside.  It rains so much here it's like a rule to go outside when we have sun! Here is a look at the supplies i used to pull the layout together. From the shop:   Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine 6x6 Clear Scraps Clouds Mask Pebbles Happy Day Thickers My Mind's Eye Jubilee Enamel Shapes I started the layout using mist and the stencil. I like to use the Post-it tape to hold the stencil in place and it doesn't tear your paper. It's kinda like the painters tape of scrapbooking! Here is a look at the complete layout. I hope you have enjoyed today's inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by!

Nothing but blue skies ahead

Hi all!   Angel here with a CAS card using a sentiment but the lovely Blue Skies Ahead set by MFT. The clouds were done by using the Cloudy Day stencil and some embossing paste. I sponged on some lemon drop ink around the sentiment and added a few enamel dots.  I also rounded one corner of the card base for balance.  Can't get much more Clean And Simple!  :) Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs~ Angel

Lucky Stars

What did we ever do before clear stamps?  After stamping with wooden stamps for several years (I still love my wood stamps!) I remember being at a crop and trying out someones clear stamp mounted on an acrylic block and thinking, "Woah. I REALLY like this."  The whole ability to see where you are stamping makes so many techniques possible.   This card uses a drop shadow effect for the sentiment ( WPlus9 ) that wouldn't be easy to recreate using a wood block stamp.  The clear stamp makes it super duper easy.  After stamping my sentiment in navy ink, I gave it a quick heat set using an embossing gun, then used my embossing powder applicator to make sure the area was good and covered. I wanted to make sure that ink was really dry before the next step, which was stamping it again over top in Versamark ink. Add a little silver embossing powder, heat set, and done! The end result is a nice shadowed effect for the main panel. The rest of the card came together easily wi

I love you

Hello everyone, I'm here is a card that I made as a "just because I love you" card. I use the ever so sweet Unforgettable and Bubble Talk stamp sets and Sunshine layers dies from WPlus9.  The images and sentiments are stamped with memento ink.  I coloured in the adorable elephant with coloured pencils and blended it with mineral spirits. For the background panel I used the WPlus9 Sunshine layers dies to cut out some kraft and white card stock and popped that up on the card base.  To add a bit of interest to the card base I used the bubbles from the Avery Elle Story Book stamp set and stamped them with Versamark ink.  To finish off the card I added a couple of enamel hearts. Supplies: WPlus9 Unforgettable stamps and dies  Avery Elle - Storybook stamp set We go together - 6x6 paper pad Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Enamel shapes Versamark Ink Thanks for stopping by! Baby Card

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I wanted to share a baby card with you today! I was totally inspired by this card  and I pretty much used the design as a sketch. I used the Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy die and Lawn Fawn Milo's ABC's stamp set to create my sentiment. The hearts were cut using the Lawn Fawn Snow Day dies and the cute bow decorative pin comes from Maggie Holmes Flea Market . Stop by and check out the store, there are tons of awesome goodies and still some Maggie Holmes Flea Market items left (they are fabulous items and on SALE). The fun patterned papers are from Avery Elle . The star washi tape is from Little B I usually color my images...today I went with paper piecing. I also changed the sentiment a bit by stamping it in two halves...and using red for the word"amazing". Hope you all liked this card! A Very Love-y Layout

Hello! Samantha here, and happy Valentine's Day! :) I'm here sharing a super lovely, and love-y layout on this day of LOVE! :) I used a lot of goodies from the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop, so let's get to it! :) See? Lot's of goodies! I found this picture of my littlest Mann, when he was just a wee one! (3 years ago - ack! Where did the time go?!) I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Hello Baby, and heat embossed on the photo itself! Shh, don't worry, the photo wasn't sad or scared!  I also used the Sharp Backdrops stamp set to add some texture to the watercolored areas. And speaking of texture - I also added some more texture with a stencil and some embossing paste ! All of the papers and layers behind the photo are from the amazing Kiss Kiss paper pad - LOVE that paper pad - swoon! I used some white paint to lighten up the busy background paper, and then when it was dry, I also added some watercoloring with the Worn Lipstick Distress ink

Good Times Card

Today I am sharing a card using the Fancy Pants True Friend collection. I used both the 6x6 papers and the buttons .  I used nesting dies to create a shaker with star shaped glitter.I have been holding on to this for awhile and finally got around to using it.  I love the cute chipboard animals in the buttons pack, especially the fox.  I layered more from the paper pad and used some washi tape at the top for a little added interest.

You're Amazing

Hi all!   Angel here with a card using a Waffle Flower set called In Every Way {currently out of stock}.  I embossed some flowers from the set with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  Then I stamped my sentiment on vellum using MFT's Black Licorice hybrid ink and embossed it with Clear embossing powder .  I love the softness that vellum adds to projects.  The strip of DP on the bottom is from the As You Wish Fancy Pants paper pad .  I also added a trio of enamel dots .  And I must mention the preeeettttyyyyy new sequins that Vanessa has in the store!  Have you seen all the colors??!  OMG!  I know what I'm getting soon!   Thanks for stopping by! Hugs~ Angel

Trio of Celebration

Marcie here today with a trio of cards using the super cute Bunting set by Avery Elle . I wanted to use as many elements as I could from the set, but even after making three cards, I still left some parts of the set untouched. It really does have unlimited possibilities! All three are one layer making them perfect for sending through the mail. For fun I added some glittery embossed stars to the first card as well as some ink splatter.  The second card reminds me of being under a party tent while the festivities are in full swing! The final card uses some darker inks and less glitter and splatter as to keep it masculine.  Avery Elle is always generous by including so many little stamps in their sets so you can mix and match freely. Love it!  Thanks for stopping in today! What stamp sets do YOU find really versatile? Supplies:   Stamps: Bunting set- Avery Elle Ink: Grape Jelly, Razzle Berry, Spearmint, Black Licorice, Blu Raspberry- My Favorite Thin

You Drive Me Wild!

Hello everyone! I'm here today am here with a non-traditional, shaped Valentine's day card. When I was going through my stamps to see what I was going to for the week's post I wanted to do a Valentine's day card but something a bit different.  So when I saw the Happy Trials stamps and dies I knew these were the ones.   I used the sun from the  Spring showers dies  and the stamps and dies as well from the  Lawn Fawn  Happy Trails set.  I coloured in the images with my copics and stamped the sentiment with  Memento Tuxedo Black ink.                                       Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon! Coralynn  :)

That Was Fun

Today's layout is an 8.5x11 page using the some fun products from the My Mind's Eye Jubilee collection.  First i used the Journey journaling cards on either side of the photo for colors and pattern. I added some die cuts that matched the collection to balance it out as well as some Evalicious puffy stickers.  The Hershey Park title uses the Jilllibean Soup beanboard alphabet .   I like the clean feel of this page and how quickly it came together.

Guest Designer Sunday with Annette Witherspoon

Hello crafty friends. I'm Annette Witherspoon and I'm thrilled to be guest designing for Butterfly Reflections, Ink. this month. Before sharing my card, I thought I'd introduce myself. I’ve been married to my husband John for nearly 12 years and I am a mommy to two a son, Jack age nine, and a daughter, Elise age six, who keep me on my toes. Before joining mommy world, I was a public relations professional for 10 years. I fell in love with the idea of creating one-of-a-kind cards made straight from the heart. Four-and-a-half years ago, I ramped up my crafting endeavors when I started my blog,  www.aspoonfullofsugarcrafts. blogspot.com , which is a play on my real name. You & Me

Raise your hands if you love to get inky! While they're up there, check em' out to see if they're covered/stained with ink. Sometimes I come away from a card looking a bit like a rainbow threw up on me. This card was one of them but it was worth it.  I wanted to play around with some of the new lovey-dovey type goodies in the shop, so I pulled out the Background Hearts Mixables Stencil by My Favorite Things , paired it with some of their inks, and a custom sentiment using a Lawn Fawn alphabet.  After taping the stencil over top of my piece of paper, I masked off the hearts carefully so I could get each one a different colour using Razzle Berry , Blu Raspberry , and Grape Jelly inks. For the hearts that I left ink-free, I traced them using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker .  I hand cut a banner from white cardstock and stamped my sentiment using a Lawn Fawn alphabet set . On a scrap piece of white cardstock I inked up two more hearts, cut them out, and scored t

Shine Bright shaker

Hi all!   Angel here with a NO stamping card!  WHAT??!?  I know, right!?  So I have all this preeetttty sequins sitting around and it's been screaming for me to use it!  The sparkly puffy stickers are from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge pack .  They are adhered directly on top of the acetate.  The sequins inside are from the Jillibean Holly Berry Borscht collection and the stars are from the Teresa Collins Tinsel & Co pack .  That cool ombre designer paper is from the As You Wish paper pad - I just used a circle STAX to cut out the circle and backed it with black card stock.  The card base is smooth white card stock.   Thanks for stopping by! Hugs ~ Angel

Wish Big

Hi everyone, Today I have a card that can be used for a number of different occasions.  I am going to use it for a birthday card.   I used the sweet Avery Elle  Story Book stamp set and  More Stories Elle-ments dies ,   Lawn Fawn 's Sky's the Limit and dies, Lawn Fawn's Teeny Tiny backdrops, Grassy Borders die and the LF Stitched rectangles for the panel. I stamped the images with  Memento Tuxedo Black  and coloured in them with copics.  I used distress inks to colour the sky and grass and  Hero Arts  Pale Tomato for the tiny hearts background.  I stamped the clouds with  Versamark  on vellum and heat embossed with white  embossing powder .  For the sentiment and the butterflies on the panel I used  Hero Arts  black ink. Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon! Coralynn  :)

Watercoloring with Lawn Fawn

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts ! This is the second posting for today, so in case you missed Danielle's beautiful creation---check it out HERE ! Just like Danielle, I am using watercolors on my card as well! I think I am in love with the watercolor technique! Today is using stamps from one of my favorite stamping company, Lawn Fawn ! I love the selection Butterfly Reflections carries! From the new and the old! Check out the Lawn Fawn selection to see what is in the store now! Here is my card using Lawn Fawn's Wish You Were Here stamp set:   The bottom sentiment came from Lawn Fawn's Milk and Cookies stamp set . I love how simple it is to create the sentiment on a curve with clear stamps! I believe it adds so much to overall look of the card!   I attempted to watercolor the map to resemble the landscape of the US. I love how watercoloring can be somewhat forgiving!   Check out the Butterfly Reflectio ns for

Under the Stars

Hello there my scrappy people!!! Danielle here from GirlRacerScrap bringing you a fun watercolored card!  Featuring stamps from Butterfly Reflections Ink Exclusive line and Neat and Tangled .  For this card I first stamped the Origami map with Delicata Gold Ink then, embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  It's my new favorite way to gold emboss everything!!  I then watercolored over the map gently. As the vellum wrinkles very easily.  I also watercolored the pink piece of paper and stamped the sentiment from the Exclusive Stamp Se t.  For added texture I did some messy stitching to attach the vellum added some enamel dots and mist sprinkles and called it done! Thank you for stopping by and be sure to get you some goodies in the shop !  ~Danielle

Have a Perfect day

Hi all!   Angel here with a card using the Waffle Flower stamp set, In Every way {currently out of stock, oops!}.   I used our January  Mood Board for inspiration - it's just SO pretty!!  The flowers were stamped in cotton candy and Razzle Berry inks.  I love that the sentiments are already broken up so you can easily stamp them in different inks.  I had to be sure and add some gold to go along with the Mood Board inspiration, so I stamped "Perfect" in Versamark then embossed with gold EP .   The rest of the sentiment was stamped in black Memento ink .  The pink DP is from the  We Go Together paper pad  and the black and white dp is from the True Friend paper pad . I used cotton candy card stock for my base and Razzle berry card stock for layering. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Angel
