a Wink and a Nod to Mixed Media in Cardmaking

Hello! Samantha here on this Halloween eve! :D I have a super FUN card to share that I made with AMAZING products from the Butterfly Reflections Ink store! Here's a little snippet of what this post is all about! Oh yes! Lots of layers, texture and fun!! Ok, here's the full card: First I used some gelatos to create the blue background. I scribbled them onto some Tim Holtz Watercolor paper and then added lots of water with a paintbrush to blend and move the colors around! I also finished off the color (once it was dry!) with some Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink on a few of the edges! But you could totally create the SAME look with watercolors! Then I stamped a few the adorable and beautiful small, text style sentiments from the Over the Rainbow Butterfly Reflections Ink EXCLUSIVE stamp set multiple times. I also did some 2nd generation stamping with the same sentiments. Then I stamped some of the small clustered stars in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink  to add a li...

Altering Patterned Paper and More!

Hi there! Samantha here again, and I'm sharing this super FUN card I made using lots of products that can be found RIGHT HERE in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop !! :) For my card today, I used the EXCLUSIVE stamps designed by the amazing Shanna Noel that can only be found at the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop ! Love it!! I also used patterned papers from three , count that: 1, 2, 3 different 6x6 paper pads! lol! I used Allison Kreft Hello World , DIY Simple Stories and Echo Park Capure Life ! :) Honestly, I am a 6x6 paper pad ADDICT and there are sooooo many in the shop! I never check out without getting another one...or two...  *whistle* I altered the patterned paper by spraying on and spritzing on it with lots of fold mist! Totally adding to the already BOLD and awesome pattern! I used this super AMAZING die from Memory Box for those cool clouds!! LOVE! I used a strip of washi put on the side over some patterned paper and then heat embossed the sentiment! ...

Here's my general layout, and where I'm deciding which stamps to use and where to place them.  I was sooooo excited when it rained because I KNEW the perfect stamps to use for embellishments!! ;)  I even stamped right onto one of the pictures and I love how that turned out! Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you stop by the shop and pick these up before they are gone! <3 Kristy

distress ink technique with my head in the clouds

Hi there! It's Samantha here, and I'm SUPER excited to share this card with you all today! Did you know that Butterfly Reflections Ink has THEIR OWN STAMPS now?! Oh yeah! Have you seen them? They're designed by Shanna Noel , and they're SO COOL!! I used both sets ( Head in the Clouds and Over the Rainbow ) for my card today! Along with some enamel dots (swoon - i'm addicted to enamel dots ...and the Butterfly Reflections Ink store has the cure! ... MORE enamel dots ! lol!) Ok, here's my card: I used a bunch of shades of blues/teals distress inks , stamped the solid cloud image onto some Tim Holtz watercolor paper , and the spritzed it with my mister! I LOVE the bleed look! I also did the same with the tiny heart image, for some pops of red! :) Then I put a vellum banner over top and heat embossed in white the sentiment and open cloud with the cutest smiley face ever! :) That panel was popped up over some glittery gold tape to go with...

New Stamps and Watercolor

Have you seen the new EXCLUSIVE Butterfly Reflections, Ink stamps ? They are simply darling and I could not wait to create with them! The ideas keep coming, so I needed to get started! One of the things I love, is that both sets go together like peanut butter and jelly!  Here is my creation using some watercolor: To allow the colors to 'POP', I stamped the images and then embossed them with either clear or white embossing powder. Stop by the Butterfly Reflections, Ink to check out the selection of embossing powders and other tools ! Seeing Stars!

Hey everyone!!!  Sorry, I am a bit late on this post. Time got ahead of me!!  I was so excited to play with the new stamps made Exclusively for Butterfly Reflections Ink by Shanna Noel .  These are just AMAZING!!!  You better get your hands on them before they sell out!!! I have been very inspired by the hand painted Galaxy shoes, I have seen on Pinterest. They do the technique to Vans, and Chuck Taylor's.  Now I noticed it's starting to pop up in the crafty world. So I tried my hand at it using watercolors!!  It's so fun I think I will try the technique with some other mediums as well.  You can make the same card with items in the shop!!
