Rain or Shine - My Favorite Things

Hey friends! It's Jess and I'm back with another card for you! I decided to take a break from all things Halloween and Fall for a bit and create something adorable with an all year set from My Favorite Things. For this card, I used Rain or Shine . To start my card off, I stamped this adorable little girl in black ink. Then, I colored her up using Copic markers. Once I finished all of her shading, I moved on to the background. This was total experimentation, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Hooray for stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something I'm not comfortable with yet! I started by adding color around her feet to make it look like she was splashing in a puddle. Then, I decided I wanted to go the whole nine yards and give her an entire scene to play in. I did a little more coloring in the street area, then moved on to the sidewalk. I even put in (what I hope looks like) a little sewage drain. I colored some grass using a few different gr...

Box sets....

Hi, hello!   Norine back again this week with some card sets in boxes.  I love making cards (that's kinda why I'm here) but I'm not as good at sending them out, so sometimes I'll collect a few that go together, make them into a set and give them away to others who can use them.  Today though, I began with the intention to made 3 sets specifically for gifts. This set was created by experimenting with ink colors.  It wasn't actually the look I was going for but after stamping off a 2nd generation inking a couple of times, I decided I really liked the look of distressed denim and I expect I'll b...

So Grapeful!

Hey Everybody! It's Saturday again, which means I'm up on the design blog with another card. A few weeks ago, I talked about coming up with some "template" type ideas to roll out when I wanted a simple card. I incorporated that idea into today's card. I love a good pun on a card. I especially love the contrast of an artsy or classically colored card with a funny or snarky sentiment. It's just kind of....jarring, for lack of a better word. And I think that's so fun when you open a card and see that. I began by using one of the images from the Memory Box We Gouda Together stamp set and stamped it repeatedly over my paper with my favorite black ink . I then broke out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and picked out some purples and went to work coloring these grape images.  I then stamped the sentiment from the set on to a piece of purple cardstock in Versamark ink and white heat embossed it. I mounted it on a piece of patterned pap...
