Mothers Day Bri Moodboard Inspiration

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the blog with fun Mothers Day card I created using some wonderfully  tropical products in the shop, and the May BRI Moodboard colors. All of the items I used are in stock at the  Butterfly Reflections Ink website.   Once again Amanda had gifted us a beautiful Moodboard to inspire our creativity. Rose Water, Aurora Magenta, Marine Green, and Tropic Canary. The jewel tones of this months colors scream tropics to me, so I made a tropical scene. That amazing Fantastic Fronds   slimline cover plate is from Trinity Stamps, and I only used one, small yet mighty, cute stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh called  Tropical Toucans .  I used some heavy weight cardstock to make my slimline base for my card. Next, I cut the 4 inch remaining piece of cardstock with my  Fantastic Fronds   slimline coverplate. On a piece of 3.5 X 8.5 Bristol Smooth Cardstock I blended  Lucky Clover,   Mowed Lawn,  and  Twis...

Go Bananas! by Gladys

Happy Monday friends! Gladys here with a fun slimline card featuring Mama Elephant products.  To begin I stamped and colored the images from  Everyday Monkeys  using alcohol markers. I used the  coordinating dies  to cut them out. Next, I used the scalloped slimline die from  Slim Window Dressing  to cut from Bristol smooth cardstock. I used tape to mask along the stitched line to give a nice white border on the panel. I inked the panel using distress oxide inks in the color  twisted citron ,  cracked pistachio ,  peacock feathers , and  mermaid lagoon . To give interest I splattered water droplets, diluted mermaid lagoon and white gouache using a small paint brush.  While the inked panel dries, I started on the sentiment. I white heat embossed part of the phrase on black cardstock. For the letters I used the  Headliner Alphas  to create the word "BANANAS!". I cut each of the letters twice on white cardstock and once ...

BRI Moodboard inspiration with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the  Butterfly Reflections Ink  with some March Bri Moodboard Inspiration. Every month, Amanda puts together an incredibly amazing Moodboard for us to play along with. The March Moodboard is no exception, full of moody gemstone colors. Heather, BlackBerry, Olive, and fir. Now, I’m not going to lie, it was difficult for me to step away from the bright sherbet spring colors I had on my desk. It took me some time to come up with a card idea, but once I pulled these sets out everything came together.  I decided to build a green and purple animal party in the pond. I was going to use some fluffy critters at first, but I didn’t want all of that brown fur. So I thought cute green toads and soft purple swans were just what I needed. I flipped through my  Pretty Pink Posh  collection and came across this storybook set called  Pond Friends . I also got out a few of their birthday sets like the new  Birthday Wreath  stamp...

Yeti or Not, Christmas is Coming!

Hi crafty friends! Peggy here with a cute Christmas card using Mama Elephant stamps and dies. I recently got my hands on the Me and My Yeti stamp set and this is the first card I created with it! Let me show you how I made this card! I started by cutting a panel of sturdy white cardstock roughly the size of the stitched slimline die in the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics die set. I used Versamark embossing ink to stamp all along the top of the panel. For this I used the Pine and Posy stamp set, but there are many stamp sets with which you could create similar results. I used white embossing powder and a heat tool to emboss my stamping. Next, I used Peacock Feathers , Salvaged Patina and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide to ink blend, leaving the bottom portion of the card fading to white. I used watercolor and metallic watercolor to paint the stamped foliage. I dried the panel with my heat tool and set aside between a heavy book to flatten. If anyone has a better method, please let...

Fa La La

Hello, Friends! It's Allison here, and I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today. I am sharing this cute slimline card featuring some of the Peek-a-Boo animals from Avery Elle . Everything used on this card can be found in the online shop . This card was really fun to make and pretty straightforward. I started with a panel of white card stock and blended Distress Oxide Inks in the following colors: Prize Ribbon, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot. I created the snowy background with a white gel pen. I then cut a panel of white card stock using the Slimline Stitched Square Trio Die-namics from My Favorite Things .  I stamped three of the animals from the Polar Bear Peek-a-Boo Pals stamp set, colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I did use masking to stamp the scarf on the bear instead of having the scarf be a separate element.  I trimmed the window panel down so that it was even on all sides, and then I created a blue slimline ...

Harry Potter Card!

Hi crafty friends! Jenn here with a card inspired by my kids! They are really into Harry Potter right now so I thought a Harry Potter card would be the perfect way to end my Halloween cards for October. A few weeks ago, my daughter created this Harry Potter card (please click this link) ... she grabbed a bunch of craft supplies and disappeared into her room, and when she emerged, she had created this amazing card. I was totally inspired by her creativity and how she altered the stamps! So she really was the one who inspired today's card 😊  Remember my bear scene changing card where mama bear is reading books to her baby bear? This card is the sequel! Baby bear has been reading Harry Potter and fell asleep while reading... and now he is having Harry Potter dreams!  I used a lot of Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant stamps for this card so I will list each element and the stamp set it's from down below.  So to create this card, I stamped out my images and for the images that nee...

Chubby Snowmen Slimline Card

Hi guys! Kelly here. Im so excited to show you this slimline card I made using Art Impressions Chubby Snowmen Stamp/die set.  I started off with a 4"x9" 110lb Neenah Cardstock panel. I die cut a small circle mask and freestyle cut a ground mask & started blending Distress inks using finger daubers. I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry into Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and a bit of Black Soot around the edges. While I let that dry I stamped my images onto the same cardstock.  I colored them with Copics and die cut them out.  The set comes with 3 Snowmen and a sweet lil bunny. I only used 2 so I added the 3rd on the inside.  I die cut a black mat from PinkFresh Studio Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles Die and mounted that onto my white slimline card base. Put it aside & I took my inked panel and added white paint splatter, let dry. I then removed the moon mask and the ground mask and trimmed it down a ...

Pinkfresh Studio Flowers Card with the BRI Moodboard

Hi Crafty Friends! Stephanie here with a card inspired by the BRI September Moodboard!  I just love these colors! As soon as I saw them, I knew they'd be perfect for a flower card.  To make this slimline card I used Pinkfresh Studio's beautiful Miss Your Smile stamp set. That big flower is just so pretty! I stamped it with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and then heat embossed it with Ranger's Clear Embossing Powder so that the ink would look bold and not smear. After that, I used the coordinating Miss Your Smile Layering Stencils . I've never used layering stencils before but they were so easy to use. I'll definitely be using them again! I used Distress Oxides in abandoned coral , worn lipstick , and cracked pistachio to ink the flower and leaves.  I heat embossed the sentiment with Ranger's white embossing powder  on black cardstock. I topped it off with some metallic watercolor  and sequins. Thanks so much for checking out my card and don't forget to stop b...

Happy Haunting

Hey there, Everyone! It's Allison, and I'm super happy to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog! Today, I am sharing this fun Halloween slimline card featuring a mix of products, all of which you can find at the online shop . It has been awhile since I've played with my Nuvo shimmer powders , so that's where I started this project. I took a panel of watercolor paper, sprinkled some shimmer powders in different shades of blues and grays, and spritzed it with water. I added more powder and spritzed more water until I was happy with the results.  While my watercolor panel was drying, I pulled out my Slimline Rooftops Border Die from Trinity Stamps and used it to cut both black and white paper. I left the windows intact on the white paper and adhered that die cut to the back of the black die cut. I adhered the rooftop border to the panel and then adhered the panel to a white card base measuring 8.75" x 3.75". I also cut duplicates of a couple of the ro...

Tis’ the Season with BRI Moodboard inspiration

Hello crafty friends. Davina here with a little BRI Moodboard inspiration. I made my first Christmas card of the year using the new  Avery Elle  release and the August BRI Moodboard colors. All of the items used are available at the  Butterfly Reflections Ink  online shop. The August colors are sky, pistachio, magenta and eggplant.  The latest stamps released by Avery Elle included a couple of Nutcracker themed stamp sets that I had to grab.  Nutcrackers  and  Christmas Dreams  work wonderfully together to create a fun and easy to make Christmas Card. Wanting to use many of the images, I decided to make a slimline card. I cut a full-size background panel from eggplant colored cardstock using the Large  Lawn Fawn slimline dies . And I cut 3 white panels from Bristol smooth cardstock using the Small  Lawn Fawn Slimline Di e. I trimmed two of those panels to crate the snowy slopes in the background using Lawn Fawn using the  Stitc...

Little Witches with the BRI Moodboard

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, with a pun filled slimline card using Mama Elephant stamps and the July BRI Moodboard. The Moodboard this month is full of spicy warm colors like lilac, honey, poppy and mulberry. They gave me very bohemian vibes and I played around with several, ideas. Ultimately I decided to focus on the rich purple mulberry color as a nighttime sky, and the rest as supporting additions.  I used all Mama Elephant products for this little slimline and everything is available in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop. I started by inking up my nighttime sky. I cut the panel using the Mama Elephant  Slim Basics  stitched panel, then heavily inked the sky using  Shaded Lilac  and  Wilted Violet . I tried to create a long cloud stencil using the cloud die and some scrap cardstock, but I didn’t apply enough white ink to make it visible. Next time I will have to make sure I put enough “oomph” into that.  From white cardstock, I cut some nice ta...

Fourth of July with Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends and happy Fourth of July. Today I’m sharing a fun Fourth of July Celebration, that I created using tons of LawnFawn stamps and dies. I wanted this slimline scene to be full of summertime favorites. I started by stamping tons of food and snack images from several sets;  Let’s BBQ ,  Sweet Friends,   Screen Time , and   Crazy Antics. I colored everything with my copic markers using lots of bold red, white, and blue combined with classic food colors. Then I cut everything out using the coordinating dies.  To build my background I used the  Small Slimline Lift the Flaps  stitched panel die to cut 3 pieces from different paper. I cut from white Bristol Smooth, Grassy green, and a dark grey cardstock. I trimmed the gray panel about 1/3 of the way down using the oldie but goodie  Village Border Die . I used the small rectangles to cut from yellow scrap paper for the windows. I inked the edges of the village with black and purpl...

Enjoy Your Summer with Leontine

Hello! Today I'm on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog again. I made a summer card with some cute stamps from Mama Elephant and I framed them with the Slim Film City dies. I mainly did copic coloring to fill the backgrounds, but I also used some colored cardstock and distress oxide inks to complete the colorful look. I was inspired by the thought of being able to go on holiday again. I’m sure most of us know that feeling. Until then this is my little getaway moment. I started using the Slim Film City dies on some Black Licorice cardstock and Mermaid cardstock . I made a white card base of 8” x 3 ¼” and cut a panel of smooth cardstock to fit the card base. Also I cut a panel of copic friendly paper, to fit behind the film piece. I adhered the film piece onto the copic friendly paper with liquid glue. I then started to color each frame with my Copic Sketch Markers. The colors I used were: B0000, B000, B00, B01, B63, B66, BG11, BG23, BG49, BG72, BG75, BG78, YR000, YR00, YR01, YR3...

April Bri Moodboard with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some fairy filled color inspiration. The beautiful April Moodboard is a collection of Honeydew, Robins Egg, Passionfruit, and Violet. I’m always so blown away by the monthly Moodboards that Amanda curates each and every month. I love the challenge of creating scenes using these color pallets.  I have impatiently awaited the arrival of the newest Doodlebug Design release. The adorable fairies from the  Fairy Garden stamp set, and the super cute bugs from  Fairy Bugs and kisses  were a must have me. I also ordered some paper pads and little extras and created this card last night after my package was received. Now I will admit that I strayed from using only colors from the color board on this card. I purchased the cute little mushroom  Fairy House  Doodle Pop, and couldn’t resist using it even though it was orange and bright pink. So you will see that I added a little bit of orange/yellow and pink to my coloring to ...
