"2015" New Year's Eve Shaker Card

Hi crafty friends Joann here with you today! I hope everyone is having fun getting ready for the new year! Today I am sharing with you a shaker card! I am totally in love with these types of cards, they are so fun to make and my family totally loves them. Here it is: I took the small images in the Lawn Fawn Snow Day and Avery Elle Cake & Candles Stamp Sets with some Gold Delicata Ink (this stuff is FABULOUS) to create my background. I tend to forget about those smaller images all the time and I'm glad I was able to put them to good stampin use, lol! I then took some CTMH Black card stock and cut a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 square and used the 3rd largest rectangle from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Stackables to create the open area in the middle. Placed some clear transparency and added a few layers of Kool Tak Clear Foam Adhesive (great stuff when you are making a shaker card that includes black on black to help hide the adhesive) to the back. I die cut some

We belong together!

Hello there friends!! It's Chitra here with a card share for all you beautiful BRI blog readers!! I have a super cute Valentine card using one of my favorite Lawn Fawn stamp set.. I have used Lawn Fawn's Milk and Cookies stamp set for my card and the card base is 110lb white Recollections cardstock. For the background I used the small hearts stamps which is in the set and repeatedly stamped it using Memento Luxe Rosebud and Love Letter inks . The milk carton, cookie jar, milk glass and cookie plate are all stamped on Neenah Solar white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copics. Then used We R Memory Keepers circle die to die-cut them and adhered using foam dots . The Sentiment is white embossed using WOW white embossing powder on red cardstock and adhered using foam dots . Hope you liked it and inspired you to start on your valentine cards!!! Thanks for stopping by!! Hugs, Chitra

Warm Hugs and Kisses

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts and I am excited to share with you a fun and simple card!   When I saw this fun scene paper in the AC Jack Frost 6X6 pad , I wanted to create a scene with this adorable penguin from Winnie & Walter .     The scenery paper is used for the back layer of the card. The snowdrifts are created with white cardstock and snowdrift dies (similar to these in the BRI shop). The image is stamped/colored/amd cut out. A sentiment is stamped to follow the flow of the snowdrift. To finish the card, I attached a few punched out snowflakes.   Thank you for stopping by today! Don't forget to stop by the shop for the special sale going on now!   Supplies:  American Crafts - Jack Frost Winnie & Walter Stamps My Favorite Things - Snow Drifts

Guest Designer Sunday with Vanessa Menhorn

Hello! It's  Vanessa Menhorn  again with my second post as Guest Designer for  Butterfly Reflections, Ink. ! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful time with your loved ones. One favorite holiday is over, so it's time to start making projects for the next one :) Today, I have a little Valentine's Day set for you: I started the card with a panel of cardstock that I trimmed slightly smaller than my pink cardbase. I stamped the cookie from Lawn Fawn's  milk and cookies set  using  Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I stamped the cookie onto a sticky note, cut it out and masked my image on the panel. Now I stamped the milk box and masked it, too. I then layed a striped stencil over my panel and applied Spun Sugar Distress Ink with an ink blending tool. After removing the stencil and the masks, I colored the images with Copics. Then I stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel to my cardbase. Finally I die-cut hearts using Lawn Fawn's  hearts lawn cuts

So Dreamy..

Happy Saturday my crafty friends! Danielle here from Girlracerscrap . I hope you have had a GREAT Christmas. I know I did!    I really enjoy making shaker cards, even though they are sometimes a bit of a pain.  I think I have a system going that makes it easier to create.  If you didn't know already, but BRI has exclusive stamps you can't get anywhere else!!! I used the Over the Rainbow set below with my favorite sentiment Kiss Under the Stars.  I created the dreamy background on watercolor paper with Distress Inks and sprayed them heavily with water to make them bleed and blend.  Once dried I then flicked some sprays all over and used some Gesso to create a patch in the middle for my sentiment to stand out.  Once I cut out my panel and added my acetate the fun begins!  What to put in side for the Shake part.  I gathered up sequins and wood veneers. For the final touch I stamped out some of the stars on vellum for the front of the card.  The supplies I u

Hey

Happy Friday! I have a fairly short, to the point post for you.  Today I have a fun, bright shaker card to share with you all. I used the Evalicious camera stamp again. I love this stamp.  I embossed the image and used my craft knife to cut out the middle to make a shaker.  I used some It Factor patterned papers for this one. I thought it had a bit too much white space so i added the dot stamp and misting.  I hope you have enjoyed my card today. Thanks for stopping by.

It's Christmas Eve and I want to be the Hostess-with-the-Mostess!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! This will be my last project for the Butterfly Reflections Design Team :(. It's been so much fun to share my projects on this blog. For my final assignment, I actually created a few projects for a little hostess-with-the-mostess wow factor! I will be hosting Christmas Eve at our house again this year and I wanted to jazz up my party a little bit with some handmade items. I usually have a coffee and cocoa station all set up for anyone that would like a hot beverage. I created a little sign for my station and used the "&" from the Gossamer Blue Get Happy Wood Veneer set. This year, to hold the cocoa packages, I used a mason jar. I glued some of the snow flakes from the collection on the lid. Since its glass and self explanatory, I just used some Christmas paper and the stamp set Fa La La from Kaisercraft, I just love that Elf quote! Last year  I had the fire pit going on my patio and a few people were enjoying the pit but it was a

December Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here with you today to share this month's mood board and the layout it inspired! I started by covering my paper in gesso and then used a couple different shades of blue gelatos to create the background. Once that was dry I used the MFT stencil and some modeling paste to add some dimension and texture.  I love mixing vintage elements with more modern/bold pieces, the Pinkfresh Studio wood drops were perfect to contrast them here. Supplies used: MFT Large Snowflakes Stencil , Pretty Little Studio Diecut Watercolor Clouds , Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Chevron Wood Drops , Wink of Stella Brush Marker Clear Are you inspired by these wintry colors? I'd love to see what you create! Just leave a comment with a link to your project.

Stickers and Stitching and Stars - Oh My!

Hello all!! Samantha here, and I'm sharing a super lovely layout that I made using lots of fun products from the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop !! So let's get down into it, shall we? I used a super fun yellow-green ombre-bokeh pattern from my base - (It's from the Bo Bunny Lemonade Stand collection, and the 6x6 can be found here - it PERFECT for summer!!). I  have been seeing lots of layouts popping up where rub-ons are Rub On's are layered and used to add design and whimsy to the background of scrapbook layouts, and I think that's AWESOME!! I took that layout, and used clear stickers instead!! Same idea - similar look! I used almost all of the DIY Simple Stories stickers and made a cluster going from top left of the page to the bottom right. I LOVE how it looks!! I also added some White enamel dots , My Mind's EYE Necessities Wood Shapes and I even heat embossed some stars a sun and a moon from the Butterfly Reflections Ink Exclusive Stamp

Hi, Beautiful.

Today I (Shawna), am sharing a layout of my daughter. It's an 8.5x11 with a white on white embossed background using the Evalicious Photo Shoot stamp set  and some white opaque Zing embossing powder. Just to add a little color, I used the Hero Arts Pastel Mint dauber . Here is a look at the final page. I used papers from the Bo Bunny Candy Cane Lane  line as well as some Basic Grey and Teresa Collins.  Some other products I used from the shop include the Doodlebug Winter Sprinkles , and the Pink Paislee chipboard .  Thanks for stopping by for some inspiration today. I hope you enjoyed it!

What to do with the leftover PL cards and die cuts……???

This month I had two Christmas parties to go to that requested a dish. The dish I decided to make was something I found on Pinterest last year called Neiman Marcus dip. I have to be honest it caught my eye first because of "Marcus" (that's my husband's name :)  but then I saw it had BACON in it soooooo, well, you know, everything is better with bacon! Anyway, my family loved this recipe last year and were asking for the recipe. I decided to create some cute recipe cards to sit by the dish for anyone that wanted it. I forgot to take pics from the first party :( Here is one of the recipe cards I created  for the second party. I thought this was a great way to use up the left over Project Life cards and die cut pieces that we all have after our layouts/pages have been created.  I used the Project Life Merry and Bright cards, Oh Deer! die cuts and Oh Deer! sequins. I figured out the placement of the recipe on regular copy paper then placed the PL card ov

A Warm and Cozy Day

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card using some new My Favorite Things products you can pick up in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop. Check out my video to find out how I layered these fun winter sets. I knew the mittens from the My Favorite Things Cozy Mittens stamp set would be the focal point. I used the Cozy Mitten Die Cuts  for a polished look.  I wanted to create a background with the fabulous My Favorite Things Nordic Knits . I struggled a bit because the pigment ink I was using at first was not stamping clearly. I recommend picking up some pigment inks like these Shadow Inks from Hero Arts  for stamping the background. For a finishing touch I attached the string with some Multi Medium Matte .

I Miss You

Guest Designer Sunday with Vanessa Menhorn!

Hi everybody! Don't get confused, but here is Vanessa. Not your lovely shop owner, but  Vanessa Menhorn  from Germany and I am thrilled to be a Butterfly Reflections Ink Guest Designer for December! Today I have two cards for your inspiration, so let's get started.  Here is number one: I used the sweet  WPlus9  set Winter Woodland to create this scene. First, I masked a snow-hill shaped area using a sticky note. Then I inked my "sky" using Antique Linen Distress ink with a mini ink blending tool. While the area was still masked, I stamped the trees using the same ink. Then I removed the sticky note and stamped the cute deer. To enhance the nose and the dots on its back, I used the  Reminisce Gel Pen . Now I stamped my sentiment and added some snowy accents with clear glitter Stickles to finish the card off. This card is a one-layer card, so it's perfect for mailing! For my second card I couldn't help but use my  Winnie & Walter  goodies:

Neat and Tangled Christmas

Hey Everyone, its Trish and I'm so excited to a guest designer this month here on the BRI blog! Today I have a simple and quick christmas card featuring a paper pad, gold embossing powder, bling, and a Neat & Tangled stamp set! Just a few products to create a great and festive holiday card. Today I'm using the My Minds Eye Sleigh Bells Ring 6x6 Paper pad ,  Rangers gold Embossing Powder , Neat & Tangled Very Merry Stamp Set , and some bling . Hope you guys enjoyed this card!!  And have a fabulous Holiday Season!

Merry & Bright

Today i am sharing a fun card using the Holiday Labels stamp set from Waffle Flower Crafts.  I used red embossing powder to make the stripe background on this card.  I thought it might be a fun effect. I really like the outcome.  I created the stripes by using some washi tape as a mask with my embossing ink.  I added some Mister Huey droplets to add some more green to the card. I have a little bonus project today with the adorable little Resin Deer Charms  by Maya Road as well.   I made a small "snowglobe".  This is a fun easy project for the holidays. Thanks for stopping by!
