Birthday Bash

Hello everyone and happy Friday! It's Ashley with a sweet birthday card that I made for my amazing mother-in-law using Mama Elephant's The Birthday Bash . It's her birthday today! Happy birthday, Tina! I didn't want to lose any of the image, so I decided to make a slimline card. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to make a soft background on watercolor paper , then splattered it with shimmer . I cut it down to 3 1/2" x 8 1/4" and mounted on a piece of Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock  cut to 3 3/4" x 8 1/2". I stamped the main image from The Birthday Bash along with two of the heart balloon clusters onto Bristol smooth cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I watercolored the images with my Zigs before cutting them out with the matching dies . I really wanted to give the main image dimension so I die cut it four times from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock for a peek of color. I

Slimline Peek-a-Boo Pals

Hi everyone, Julianne here bringing you some holiday cheer! I’m super excited to share these cards, I have been seeing a lot of slimline cards lately and thanks to all the inspiration from Davina I decided to create my first slimline card. Have you all started making Christmas cards for this year? I always find myself so behind making them, so I decided to start early this year. I just love this stamp set by Avery Elle, and thought it would make the cutest Christmas cards to share with you all. To start both cards I stamped the Avery Elle Polar Bear Peek-a-Boo Stamp Set with some black VirsaFine Ink with my Misti. I wanted to use some of the cute accessories like the hat and scarfs so I started by stamping those first than masking them off before stamping the penguin and reindeer. I love when stamp sets come with additional stamps to customize. Once I had all my images stamped it was time to color, once finished I used my ScanNCut to cut all the images out, if you don’t have thi

Mason Jar Shaped Card Set!

Hello crafty friends! Heather back again to share a fun card set that I created using a variety of goodies that are available in the shop! First of all, I have to tell you that I have been crushing so hard on the Honey Bee Mason Jar Die ! I love the look of shaped cards but I rarely actually make them. They seem so complicated but this die set is perfect for getting your feet wet with shaped cards - and https://butterflyreflectionsink.3dcartstores.com/Honey-Bee-Stamps_bymfg_91-4-1.html has several to choose from!! Here is a look at the fun card set that I created The Mason Jar Die cuts out the entire card base with a score line at the top to fold it into the perfectly shaped Mason Jar card. For each of my cards I used some Neenah 110lb (she’s thic y’all!) so that they’d be super sturdy, however, any thicker cardstock would work great too! Now, I think it is important to let you know that while I DO have a Big Shot machine, I use the small plates. You DO NOT need a Big

Happy Birthday Chickens!

Hello everyone, I'm back with a birthday day card.  It was such a nice weekend here after having what felt like weeks of rain I wanted to make something bright a cheery. My daughter loves chickens so this is a card for her birthday which is in a few days. I used MFT stamps and dies for this card.  I started with the chickens from The Whole Heard and coloured them in with my copics. I then used the stitched rounded rectangles and grass dies and cut them out of some green card stock that I had left in my stash and added one layer with glue and the other I popped up with foam tape. I then added the sentiment with black ink and I thought the top of the card was missing something so I found a couple of clouds in my baggie of extra die cuts.  I don't know who these are from but we have tons of cloud dies in the shop . Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my card.  I hope you get a chance to head over to the shop and browse all the wonderful goodies. Co

Father’s Day Reveal Wheel Card

It’s Britney here and I am showing off a fun Father’s Day card featuring the  Lawn Fawn  Rawrsome  stamp set and  Reveal Wheel die . We need to let dad know how much we love him and just one sentiment won’t do.  I like to start with my background and build from there. I started off by cutting 4 panels of Bristol Smooth paper using the  Reveal Wheel die , one with the window cut out.  I cut a panel  using the largest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle  Stackables . I inked it up using  Seedless Preserves distress oxide ink  and attached it directly to my card base  to create a nice frame around my Reveal Wheel.  I inked up  the panel  with the window using  Mustard Seed ,  Barn Door , and  Seedless Preserves .  I used these same colors to ink up the wheel of the Reveal Wheel.  I cut one of the backgrounds using the  Stitched Mountain borders  and I colored this with my  Copics  to match my volcano.  I used the   Simple  Stitched Hillside borders  to cut another one o

Slothsome Birthday!!!

Hello Friends, Waleska from craftinglovew again here with you!!! I am so so so happy to be back sharing with you this card that I had so much fun making.... I am so grateful for this Cardmaking community that helps each and everyone of us in different ways!!!  So who is ready for a Slothsome Party??  I know I am... CARD DETAILS: To create this fun card I started with a card base a little longer than normal because I wanted to use as many of this Sunny Studio Stamps Sloths in my card.  I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Cloud Backdrop for the background, I used Oxide Inks in colors Peacock Feathers   and Worn Lipstick  . I used a branch die to create the scene and colored it with markers.  For the adorable sloths I used Versafine Onyx Black ink  and Zig Markers.  The party hats and the balloons are from the Birthday Smiles Stamp Set  and the Froggy Friends Stamp set  (which are on sale at the shop... so run) I loove those two. I adhere all the cute sloths around the c

Sunshine and Rainbow Clouds!

Hello and happy Friday everyone! It's Ashley with a card full of sparkly, rainbow goodness! Today I'm going to share two ways that you can make this rainbow cloud glitter background for your cards! It really is the perfect backdrop for this sweet unicorn from Hello Bluebird. There are actually two ways you can make this background! For both, you are going to need the cloud stencil from MFT and a variety of Distress Oxide inks. I used Worn Lipstick , Spiced Marmalade , Fossilized Amber , Squeezed Lemonade , Cracked Pistachio , Tumbled Glass , Mermaid Lagoon , Wilted Violet , and Shaded Lilac . Whew! The first way to do this is to stencil the clouds on a plain piece of white cardstock. I started at the top and worked my way down, trying to keep my blending and colors soft. Once you finish, let the ink dry or hit it with a heat tool. Then cover the whole panel with a very thin layer of Tonic Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone . I used a palette knife to do this, but you can

Party Parade

Hi Crafty Friends, Julianne here sharing some fun birthday cards featuring the Hello Bluebird Party Parade Stamp Set . I needed to create some birthday cards to have on hand, I thought these would be super cute to give to a friend.    These cards ended up taking me a lot longer than I thought, because there was a lot of coloring involved but I love them so it was worth it. I started out by laying out all the images and stamping them with my MISTI . When doing a card like this I like to make multiple so that way I end up with a bunch of cards instead of just one. I then started down the long road of coloring :) choosing certain color themes such as pink & purple, blue & green. I find it easiest to color one image at a time on all of the backgrounds and then moving on to the next image.   Once I had all the coloring done I used the Waffle Flowers A2 Nesting Rectangle Dies to cut down my backgrounds. Using a variety of sentiment dies that I had I die cut my sentiments fr

Graduation Card - With Personalized Elements!

Hi crafty peeps, Heather here to share a Graduation themed card that I’ve made for my oldest baby - who will be graduating High School next week!! She’ll be heading off to college in the fall and I am just so unbelievably proud of her and all of her accomplishments! I wanted to create a Graduation card to fit to her personality - which is mermaid all the way! One of the things I love so much about cardmaking / stamping is personalizing the stamped images to match the recipient or event that I am stamping for! I really love that Lawn Fawn has so many products that present that opportunity and, of course, Vanessa always has the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop loaded up with TONS of Lawn Fawn goodies for us!!! To create this card I stamped and Copic colored a variety of underwater images from a couple Lawn Fawn Stamp sets: Mermaid for You , You are Sublime , the new Keep on Swimming , and So Jelly . I also stamped/die cut the graduation cap & diploma from Mama Elephant’s Pa

May Mood Board with Davina

Hello crafty friends. Davina here today on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog to talk about inspiration, and share a card I made using Mama Elephant stamps and the gorgeous  Butterfly Reflections Ink   May Mood Board. When we sit down to create something, whether it be small or a large project, we sometimes know right away what we want to make. And other times we know we want to make something, but need a little help or a jumping off point. When we are inspired by something we see, hear or experience we can quickly make a beautiful project. As a crafter/ maker I often find inspiration in many different places. One of my favorites is mood and/or color boards. Every month Butterfly Reflections Ink posts a Color Board and encourages you to play along by making a project and sharing it on the SM platform you like best, and tagging them and using #BRImoodboard. Inspiration is interpreted differently by every single person. They are a starting off point, not the finish line. If I see a p

Waffle Flower Be Her Set

Hey friends! Britney here with a fun set of cards featuring the  Waffle Flower Be Her  and the MFT Because You stamp set.  I went crazy and wanted to use all the images from the set. I stamped my images with  Gina K Amalgam Jet Black Ink  and colored my images with Copic Markers.  I finished off my images by adding some highlights with a white gel pen. For the color panels attached to my card base, I used Lawn Fawn’s  Really Rainbow paper pack ,  Really Rainbow Scallops paper pack , and  gold glitter cardstock.  Also, those were cut using the largest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I made my frames from heavy weight cardstock. I used the largest of the  Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackable s because it cuts off just enough to leave a nice background frame.  I used the middle sizes of Lawn Fawn  Reverse Stitched Scalloped Squares  and  Lawn Fawn Reverse Stitched Scalloped Circles  to create the windows. I popped my frames up using foam tap
