Fox with Flowers Friendship Card with Christy Gets Crafty

Hello friends, it's Christy here with a card using the adorable  MFT Hooray Kind of Day  stamp set designed by Stacey Yacula. All of the images in this set are just so cute, but the fox is my favorite, and I just had to use her on today's card. I colored her and her little snail friend in with Copic Markers and trimmed them out with the  matching dies . For the focal panel, I cut a MFT Wonky Stitched Circle out of Bristol Smooth Surface and watercolored a background using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens . I stamped a sentiment at the top using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink , and stamped a few more images and another sentiment on the inside of my Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers card base with Peachy Keen Ink . I selected some patterned paper from the  MFT Fun in the Sun  and  Positively Peppy  6x6 pads and trimmed down the largest floral print with the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I layered them on my card front with Tombow Mo...

Strawberry Jam Picnic Card with Christy

Hello friends! It's Christy here with a sweet card featuring a friendly picnic in a strawberry patch. Doesn't it look like they're having the best day? I wish I could join them. I used the adorable  Hello Bluebird Strawberry Jam  set and colored my images with Copic Markers , then trimmed them out with the matching dies. For the focal panel, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames and die cut it out of white cardstock . I set aside the frame and used the center piece to do a simple Copic colored background that even a beginner could do! It really was so easy!  The Carta Bella Summer Market 6x6 pad had this gorgeous strawberry pattern that was just meant to live on this card, so I trimmed that down with the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and adhered it to my card base. Then I glued down my colored background and popped the frame up with Scotch 3M foam tape .  I trailed my strawberry vines up the frame then ad...

Unicorns & Rainbows

Hello there, friends! It's Christy from Christy Gets Crafty here today with a cute card featuring  My Favorite Things Fairy-tale Friends . These unicorns and rainbows are so much fun to color! And to make things even sweeter, I added in a few cupcakes from  Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay . After I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers , I trimmed them out with the  matching dies.  Then I die-cut two cloud panels using  Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders . I glued the back one down flat to the card base with liquid glue, then stamped my sentiment on the front panel with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and popped it up with foam tape . I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, then stamped out the little sparkle marks from A Little Sparkle in Forget-Me-Not and Moonstone ink . As a finishing touch, I dabbed on a bit of Crystal Stickles to my unicorns horn and wings, the rainbow, and cupcake liners to  bring some...

Toucan of Friendship

Hey friends, it's Christy with my last Friday Feature as part of the BRI design team. On Monday Vanessa will introduce a whole new team, and you guys are going to love them! So many talented ladies. My card today features the beautiful Reverse Confetti Toucan of Friendship . I colored my images with Copic markers to match my Simple Stories Faith patterned papers , then die cut them with the matching dies. I made a card base from Lawn Fawn's guava cardstock , then die cut my patterned papers with Lawn Fawn's Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables , Neat & Tangled's Scalloped Dies , and Lawn Fawn's Stitched Journaling Card . I layered them together and then added my images to the focal panel. My sentiment was stamped in Deep Sea ink . For embellishments I added a few Pretty Pink Posh 4mm  and  6mm Sparkling Clear Sequins  then dabbed a little Crystal Stickles  in the centers of my flowers to give them a little sparkle. I also did some fun stamping o...

Hoppy Birthday, Ribbit!

Hey friends, happy Friday! It's Christy here with a fun pond scene featuring  Memory Box Hoppy Holidays . This set is super versatile because it does double duty as both a Christmas set, and everyday. Today I paired it with the bright and cheery  Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6  papers to create a birthday card. I colored my images with Copic markers then die cut them with the  matching dies . Then I layered a strip of grass cut with Lawn Fawn's Meadow Borders  and  Stitched Hillside Borders . I added it with foam tape over a panel cut with the  Large Cross Stitched Square Stackables  to create the sky at the top and the pond at the bottom.  For my card base, I trimmed my patterned paper down to 4'' x 5 1/2'' to leave a blue border all the way around, then added a banner down the center with the end trimmed down using the  Stitched Party Banners . Then I popped my focal panel over top with some more foam tape and finis...

Koala Bear Hugs

Hey friends, Christy  here. Today I'm hear to share a super sweet card with you all featuring  Reverse Confetti Bear Hugs . I wanted to do some soft Copic coloring to match the look of my patterned papers, the gorgeous Wildflower by Kaisercraft . This one print stood out to me, because it reminded me of eucalyptus, so I knew it would work beautifully with my sweet koalas. Once my images were colored, I die-cut them with the matching dies , then layered them on top of a focal panel of patterned papers cut with the  Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circle Stackables  and Scalloped Circle Stackables . I also threw in two clouds from the MFT Cloud 9 dies , using the larger one to stamp my sentiment. I added the leaf print to cover my card base with just a thin strip of a white on white stripe down the side as an accent. Then I popped my image up with foam tape. As a finishing touch a added a few Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Sparkling Clear and 6mm Marshmallow sequins ....

Go Nuts!

Hey crafty friends, it's Christy here with an adorable card I hope you're going to go nuts over! Today I'm featuring the sweet MFT Harvest Buddies . Squirrels are one of my favorite animals, so I had a blast playing with this little guy. I colored my images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers , then die cut them out with the matching dies . Next, I added some color to a piece of Hero Arts Woodgrain Texture Vellum using some distress inks, then die cut that with the largest of the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables to give it a finished edge. I adhered all my images with foam tape, then used Tombow Mono Multi Glue behind the images to add my vellum to a piece of white cardstock that was die cut with the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables . My sentiment was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and die cut with the second smallest Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Stackables . Then I glued the whole thing down to an aqua card base to match the sky. ...

Yo Ho Ho

Hey crafty friends, it's Christy here. Today I've got a super duper fun card for your guys featuring the new  Neat & Tangled Yo Ho Ho  stamp set. When I was a little girl, I used to pretend I was a Pirate Princess, so this set just spoke so much to my inner child. I actually created TWO cards because I wanted to use every image. The boy version is on my blog , if you'd like to check that out. :) I colored my images with Copic markers and die cut them with the  matching dies , then combined them with the perfect papers --  Echo Park's Pirate's Life . Aren't they just a match made in heaven? I die cut my focal panel with the  MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die-namics , then popped it up with some foam tape over my card base. As a finishing touch, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh 4mm  and  6mm Clear Droplets  with some  Ranger Multi Medium Matte I also stamped an additional sentiment on the inside using  Lawn Fawn Walnut Ink , ...

Giraffes Gone Wild

Happy Friday, crafters! It's Christy here with a card using these sweet giraffes from  Reverse Confetti's Lift Me Up . Aren't they just the cutest? And so fun to color! I used my Copic markers on these guys and die cut them with the matching dies . The  Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles  works great for so many occasions, but today I'm using them to create a birthday card. I pulled out several festive patterns that I thought worked well together and layered them up by die cutting them with the  Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables  to cover my card base, the  Stitched Journaling Card   as my focal panel, and the  Grassy Border  to add some interest. I also used one of the  Neat & Tangled Scalloped dies  on a pretty floral print to frame up that focal panel. I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Another Year Wiser

Hey everyone, it's Christy ! Happy Friday! Today I've got a bright and cheerful card to share with you using the  I'm Owl Yours stamp set by My Favorite Things . The set includes several birthday-themed sentiments, but I needed a few extra images to complete my scene, so I added in the presents from  Beast Friends  and the party hat and leaves from  Lawn Fawn's Hang in There . I watercolored my images with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens  and die cut them with the  matching dies . To assemble my card, I die cut several patterns from the  Shimelle Little By Little 6x6 paper pad  with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and the  Stitched Party Banner Lawn Cuts  and layered them over a pale yellow card base. I popped all my images up with foam tape on a circle die cut with one of the  Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Circle Stackables , and adhered that to one of the  Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables . I ...

Happy Purrthday (Masculine Card)

Hey friends, it's Christy here! Today I have a cute masculine card for my little guy's birthday. He absolutely loves cats, so I just had to make him a card with Lawn Fawn's Meow You Doin'? .  So I have a couple of tips that I always adhere to when making boy cards: use bright, primary colors, simple shapes (in this case I used circles and stripes), and little to no embellishments. For some reason boys just typically don't go for the froo from stuff! ;) Bearing that in mind, I colored my images with Copic markers and cut them out with the  matching dies . I layered them on top of my focal panel, from the  Shimelle Little By Little 6x6 pad  die cut with one of the   MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die-namics .  I used a blue card base (his favorite color) accented with strips of red cardstock. I added just the teensiest bit of embellishment by die cutting the cross-stitched pattern into the bottom strip with one of the  Lawn Fawn Stitc...

Sweet Forest Friends Flop Card

Hey friends, Christy here with an extra fun interactive card -- a flop card! This was my first attempt at one, but I will definitely be making more of these babies in the future! I just can't stop playing with it! These Sweet Forest Friends by MFT were clamoring to be inked up, so I chose them to be the today's stars. I colored up practically every image included in the set with Copic markers, then set them aside. For my card base, I first adhered some patterned paper from the Shimelle Little By Little 6x6 , then to create my "flop" panel I used the MFT Flop Card Rectangle Die-namics . To finish off the scene I added a couple of MFT Cloud 9 dies , as well as some Lawn Fawn Grassy Borders to both the front and inside panels. The trick of this card is to make sure to assemble your scene so that there's a surprise when you open it up. So I placed my tree and critters to the far left on the inside. Then I let a cloud, butterfly and flower be visible on the...

A Novel Birthday

Hey crafty friends, it's Christy , back with my Friday Feature at BRI. This week I needed a special birthday card for a very special lady in my writer's group, and I knew that the  MFT Our Story  stamp set was going to work perfectly to create the look I was after. I did a combination of Copic coloring and paper piecing using the absolutely gorgeous  Flora 6x6 by Carta Bella . Now, I'll admit, it did take me a while to fussy cut those beautiful patterns for the chair and some of my book covers and layer them over the matching die cuts , but since the Birthday Girl, Alice, was turning 85 years young, it was totally worth the extra effort. I even added her little dog, Gypsy, into the scene. To create a soft background and ground my images I did some simple masking and sponging of Distress Inks . Then I framed up my focal panel by giving it a nice stitched edge with the  Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables  and used lots of foam tape to laye...

Magical Princess Birthday

Hey friends! Christy here. As a mom of three boys, I don't often give in to the impulse to buy ultra-girly images, but this  Once Upon A Time set by My Favorite Things  was simply too cute to resist! Sweet princesses, adorable unicorns,... this set is just so playful, I swear it'll make you feel young again just inking it up!  I colored my images with Copics and die cut them with the  matching dies , then set my scene using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Stackables as my focal panel, the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders to create my grass, and added one of the clouds from  MFT's Cloud 9  to my sky. The gorgeous Posh 6x6 paper pad by Simple Stories  served as inspiration for my color palette, and I just had to use as many of the beautiful patterns as possible on my card. I die cut the pink confetti print with the  Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders  and used the  Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables  to f...

You're Earresistible

Hi friends! Christy here with a super duper cute card for you today. Aren't these bunnies from  Penny Black Woodland Friends  just the sweetest? I love coloring bunnies because there are just so many ways to make them unique. The Spring Fling 6x6 by Pebbles  is one of those paper pads I keep coming back to because the color palette and patterns are so versatile! It works for everything from Valentines, Easter, Spring, Birthday, New Baby, or just All Occasion cards. I'm definitely going to have to grab another one before I run out. ;) I searched through my stamp sets for the perfect sentiment for these guys, and my eyes lit on this one from the  Lawn Fawn Eggstra Special Easter  set, and I thought it was too funny not to use! I die-cut my panel with the  MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax die-namics  and used the  Lawn Fawn Party Banners  to give a little stitched detail to one of my patterned papers.  I also did some fun sta...

Lumberjack Love

Hey friends! It's Christy here. You know that old saying, "great minds think alike?" Well, I had to smile when I saw  Mayra's post from Thursday  and her absolutely stunning projects using the  Neat & Tangled Lumberjack Love stamps  and  dies , because I already had these guys colored up and sitting on my desk for today's card! I thought about trying to come up with a new idea, and even pulled out a few different stamp sets and supplies, but nothing seemed to click, so I thought, what the heck, why not just show how versatile these stamps can be! With all the various coloring choices of markers, and mediums, and techniques, you're practically guaranteed to get a different look every time. I set the scene for these guys by stamping  Newton's Nook Whispering Pines  with Lawn Fawn's Freshly Cut Grass  and  Noble Fir  inks, utilizing not only the tree cluster image, but also the two single trees included in this set for a nice ...

Completely Wild About You

Hey friends, it's Christy here with a super cute card featuring a brand new line in the BRI shop: Reverse Confetti ! I fell in love with these sweet giraffe's from Lift Me Up and just had to make a card with them as soon as I got them in my hands! These cuties are completely customizable! The polkadots make them so fun and festive and you can color them to match your patterned paper, as I did here, or you can color them more realistically if you prefer. I vote for fun! ;) This Simple Stories Posh 6x6 is sadly out of stock at the moment, but Vanessa carries so many gorgeous paper pads in her shop that you're sure to find one or two (or five!) that you can't live without. I know I always do. I colored my images with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die and Grassy Border die to create a focal panel for them to stand on and borrowed a sentiment from  WPlus9's Party Animal  stamped in Lawn Fawn Deep Sea ink . I used a sketch I found o...

I'm Owl Yours

Hello friends, Christy here! Happy Friday! While Vanessa is away at CHA shopping for fabulous new goodies for the store, I'm popping in here to share a card. This sweet  I'm Owl Yours set by My Favorite Things  is chock full of adorable owls and punny sentiments that work for all sorts of occasions.  I colored these two cuties in with Copic markers to match my Simple Stories Love & Adore 6x6 patterned paper and die cut them out with the matching dies . I watercolored a background using Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock and Spun Sugar Distress Ink and added a couple clouds from  Lawn Fawn's Spring Showers  to complete my scene. I also did some fun stamping on the inside, which you can check out in the video. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

You're My Favorite Little Nut

Hey friends! It's Christy here with my first post for Butterfly Reflections Ink, and I can't tell you how excited I am to be here! BRI is my faaaaavorite online store (Vanessa ROCKS, don't you agree?) and it feels awesome to be a part of this amazing team. In case you don't know me, I blog, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube as Christy Gets Crafty , and I loooove polar bears, squirrels, and birch trees. So of course, I had to feature one of those things on my very first design team project! The recently released  My Favorite Nut set by Neat & Tangled  just captured my heart, as I'm sure it did for many of you. This set is chock full of adorable squirrels and squirrel-y accessories and super cute sentiments! I paired it with the lovely  Floral Heart stamp  and watercolored everything with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens . Then I die cut just the inside portion of the heart with the  matching dies  to create a window. To frame up my fo...
