Birthday fishes!

Hello crafty friends, it's Veronica here! Have you left for your holidays yet? As I'm waiting august to finally go to the seaside, I'm making some summer cards and I thought these cute fishes by Studio Katia would be perfect! To create my card, I first stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Transotype paper, colored them with my Copic Ciao markers and fussy cut them.   For the background I smooshed some Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Ink, plus I splattered some drops of Blueprint Sketch on a piece of watercolor paper. They're difficult to spot, but I also added some drops of Glossy Accents . I die cut a rectangular panel from a white card stock and I created an oval window in the middle. I layered all the pieces with some foam to give dimension and I finished off my card with a black card stock base. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white powder. Hope you like it! From Italy wi...

Santa and the Mrs.

Happy Thursday to all of you crafty people!  It's Amanda Fitterer back with you today sharing one last card for October!   When I saw Mama Elephant's Santa Baby stamp set , I immediately imagined peeking through Santa and Mrs. Claus's window and seeing them share a sweet moment.  I knew I needed to make a card like this!   To create this scene, I used Heffy Doodle's Stitched Rectangle Dies and Studio Katia's European Window Die . To create my bricks, I used the Salvaged Brick Stencil by Honey Bee Stamps and Candied Apple Distress Oxide .  I masked off where my window will be using Heffy Doodle Memo Tape . Next, I masked off the brick to create a "light" inside the room using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide . Next, I stamped my images from the Santa Baby Stamp Set and the Toasty Friends Stamp Set .  I colored my images with Copic markers. Then, I adhered everything together using 3D foam squares, strips, and liquid glue! Such a sweet mome...

Slimline Shaker Halloween Monster

Happy Tuesday!  Amanda here!  I hope you're all having a great week so far!  I'm happy to be back this week sharing another Halloween card!  For this week's card, I am creating a slimline shaker card!  I'm using many of the same products as I used for last week's card . To make this card, I'm starting with Heffy Doodle's Stitched Slimline Tri o Dies and the Slimline Pull Tab Dies .  I'm using Oreo Crunch and Plum Pudding colored cardstock from Heffy Doodle.  For my base, I'm using 80# Neenah Solar White cardstock. For the grass that will be peeking through my shakers, I'm using Trinity Stamp's Slimline Card Series: Scenic Border Dies . My cute little monster is from the Monster Love stamp set from Concord and 9th.  I'm stamping this spooky little guy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring him in with Copic markers. For my little flags and sentiment, I'm going to use Taylored Expressions Pennant Parade Stamp Set . I'm usi...

Suns Out, Buns Out!

Hello there! Samantha here today, and I'm happy to share a fun, summery card! Because it's still hotter than hades here in South Carolina, and we're still longing for some beach days! ha! I used a combination of Avery Elle stamps and Lawn Fawn dies for this card! Let's check it out, shall we? eeeep! So cute! As SOOOOON as I saw the Suns Out stamp set , I could NOT stop laughing! I knew it had to be mine! lol! I also stamped the speech bubble from Speech Bubbles ! I fussy cut my images out, but you could use the coordinating dies to die cut yours out speedy Q! I added some  Icicle Stickles  to the unicorn's horn...because....glitter! So then you know I had to add some  Glossy Accents  to the sunglasses for some shine! My images were colored with Zig Clean Clear Real Brush Markers, and the background is where it gets fun (and inky!)!! I used Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid Lagoon to create the watercolored background! I smooshe...

Bear Hugs

Hello everyone! It's Ashley back to guest post again! Vanessa just can't seem to get rid of me! Today I have a super cute card for you using the Bear Friends set from Pretty Pink Posh. It's perfect for Valentine's Day or just because! Look how cute those bears are! I started my card with a pink background in honor of Valentine's Day. I blended Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides, fading into white towards the center. I then splattered it with water and gold watercolor for a bit of shine. I used the bushes from the Hello Bluebird Pond Builder dies for a bit more background interest. I blended Distress Oxides in Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey for a golden color, then splattered with two different gold watercolor paints from the Starry Colors palette by Gansai Tambi.  For the trees, I used the Hello Bluebird Birch Tree dies with white cardstock, then I made my grass with another die in the Hello Bluebird Pond Builder set. I used...

Rainbow Happy Birthday Cards with Erica and Studio Katia goodies!

Hi guys! Erica here! Today I have the pleasure of being a guest designer here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! I have two bright and happy birthday cards using the It's Your Birthday stamp from Studio Katia . Both are heat embossed, the backgrounds are faux water coloured and both are sprinkled with Studio Katia sequins. To start with I cut out two panels of water colour card stock , and on these I dragged mini Distress Ink cubes in thick lines. With a wet wide paint brush , I blended the colours together to create the faux water colour look. You can get a similar look with any kind of water based mini ink cubes . It doesn't have to be Distress Inks. These I set aside to dry. They had to be absolutely bone-dry before I could carry on with the next step: Heat embossing. Even with an anti-static tool , I find that the powder gets stuck in places you don't want it in, if the panel isn't dry enough. The sentiment, Happy Birthday To You , was heat emb...

Loads o' Layers - Stamped Decoupage Cards - VIDEO

Hi Everyone!  It's Jenny here and I'm so excited to be back guesting on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog after what seems like forever!    I have three cards for you today, which all feature a decoupage style technique.  I'll show you how you can cut up your stamped images to create a 3D effect, and I have a video which show you how I created it in more detail which you can find here : My first card uses the  Pinkfresh Studio Lined Floral Background .  I stamped it five times in copic friendly black ink and then fussy cut it out at various sections used my Copics to color it. I colored each layer a different color of the rainbow, using three different shades for each layer.  I also didn't color all of each layer - only the bit I knew would be showing.  To get the edges nice and neat, I used a Memento Tuxedo Black marker to go around the edges of each piece. Once all the pieces were lined, I adhered the main back stamped panel to...

New Year's Card

Happy Saturday, everyone! It's Dana here from Dana G.Crafts and I'm sharing New Year card with you today. To begin, I stamped critters and bicycle images from Neat & Tangled Ride With ME Stamp Set using MFT Extreme Black Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and added highlight with White Gel Pen. For background, I ink blended A2 sized white card stock using Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. I splattered Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink with clean water here and there and let it dried. I then stamped only '2019' image from Altenew 2019 Stamp Set and stamped another sentiment from Neat & Tangled Ride With Me Stamp Set.  Next, I embellished 2019 numbers with Studio Katia crystals using Multi Medium Matte. I used July Crystals, October Crystals and Sparkling Crystals. To finish off, I foam mounted colored images as shown in the picture. Hope you enjoyed this card. Thank you so much for join...

You're the Zest! Featuring Studio Katia

Hey crafty friends! It's Jess and I'm excited to share this card featuring Citrus Trimmings from Studio Katia. When I saw this set, I just knew I had to have it. So, one order ( of way more than I intended to buy, as per usual ) from Butterfly Reflections Ink later, I was ready to start creating. I started off by stamping one of the large border stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black ink since I knew I'd be doing some Copic coloring. I colored up all of the adorable lemon and lime images and then fussy cut the whole thing. I grabbed some patterned cardstock from my stash and paired it with some plain black cardstock. I love how that strip of black gives a nice contrast between the light yellow and the citrus images. I layered everything up and adhered it so my card base. I snagged some cute green and white twine and positioned it on the top portion of the card. Then, I die cut one of the smaller circles from the My Favorite Things Inside Out Stitched Circle STAX an...
