Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a birthday card with LEAPS of happiness! Get it...because it's LEAP day! So, I just *had* to make a card with some kind of leaping action! ha! And these frogs are just too sweet to not share on a birthday card! I used the images from the Toadally Awesome and brand new Really High Five stamp sets! All of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out! I also used the Stitched Pond Frame die set to help create the scene! That die is SO sweet and fun! I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch , Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers for the pond! and Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade for the sky! I also used Pine Needles and Cracked Pistachio for the tiny little grass areas! Then I used the Sunscape stencil from Newton's Nook to add the pretty sun rays in the background with white embossing paste! Hopefully this card made you smile, and also reminded you that

everywhere a bug, bug!  I have two cards to share today featuring the adorable new Lawn Fawn a bug deal stamp set .  Disclaimer:  I'm NOT a bug fan.  That said, my kids and I started a butterfly garden last summer, and I just fell in love with the caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly in this set!  (The butterfly "egg" on the leaf in the first card is actually a bubble from the mermaid for you stamp set .) For both cards, I used a scattered stamp technique and colored the images with  Copic markers .  I do have the  dies  to match this set, but I chose to fussy cut certain images to add dimension on these cards because the shapes are fairly simple (and  spring scissors  make all the difference in fussy cutting, in my opinion!).  I've found two ways to scatter stamp:  you can either arrange the stamps close together on an acrylic block (or, even better, a Misti tool ) and reposition the paper as you stamp that cluster, OR you can randomly stamp images, starting

Hello my crafty friends! I don't do many "masculine" cards, which is funny, because I have four sons, but I'm always drawn to the girly stuff. This little guy fishing, however, is as cute as they come. Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog to share another card with you! I'm constantly inspired by the beautiful underwater scenes I see made by fellow cardmakers, and I have slowly built up my collection of underwater-themed stamps over the past few years so that I can join in the fun. I experimented with some non-traditional water colours for the background of this card. I blended Distress Oxide inks in Dusty Concord , Faded Jeans and Cracked Pistachio onto a piece of watercolour paper, and then splattered the whole panel with water and gold watercolour paint. I then cut the top with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Banner die to give it that fun wavy edge. I layered the whole water panel onto a piece of Lawn Fawn Gold Rush cardstock , which I had die-cut at the top with Lawn Fawn's Simple Stitched Hillside border die . I adhered both pieces onto a pool-blue card base. Then, I was ready to start adding images!

Hello there! Silvia's here today sharing a sweet shadoxbox card. I started die cutting two 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" rectangles from white cardstock and I folded each of them at 5 1/4" and 4 1/2". I then used the B die from the Hello Bluebird "Strawberry Jam" die set to cut a window in one of the panels and I used some vintage photo Distress Oxide ink to give them a vintage look (I also splattered some liquid ink loosened with water on it). I stamped images from the Hello Bluebird "Strawberry Jam" , "Field Mice" and "Fall Banner Buddies" (for the little bird) stamp sets, I colored them with my alcohol markers and I cut them out (I fussy cut the mice and I used the coordinating dies for the strawberries). I also die cut two grassy borders with the Hello Bluebird "Grassy Knoll" dies, I ink blended with shabby shutters and evergreen bough Distress Oxide inks and splattered with gold. To make the bac

Hi friends! Tammy here with a fun and bright Spring card, featuring Lawn Fawn...old and new. I love how versatile Lawn Fawn's sets are, allowing me to really have fun mixing and matching sets to create a unique scene! To begin, I cut a rectangle from the new Dandy Day Petite Paper Pad  to use as my background.  Next, I cut a scalloped rectangle from white cardstock, and a stitched rectangle from Bristol Smooth cardstock. I inked my background with Worn Lipstick  and Dried Marigold  Distress Oxide's, splattered with a bit of clean water, and set aside to dry. Hi Everyone!  Happy Sunday!  I'm sharing with you this card I created using color inspiration from the February mood board.   Below are a list of supplies I used to create this card. I also find myself wanting to try different styles of cards lately, and I always love the mini scenes that story board dies create, and since I have rarely used mine, I thought it was time to get it out. I started by cutting some rich red card stock with my Lawn Fawn  Peekaboo Backdrop  and cutting it again from some Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I used so

I had planned to use the Lawn Fawn  stitched cupcake die for classroom valentines this year, but my kiddos had very specific designs in mind that didn't involve cupcakes!  So, I decided to make a SWEET birthday card for my card stash instead. For this card, I started with watercolor paper cut to 4 x 5.25."  I used the Newton's Nook  cascading stars stencil  with Nuvo glimmer paste in pink opal  to add stars to the top half of the background.  I let this background dry overnight, just to be safe! I cut the cupcake pieces from Bristol smooth card stock and used distress oxide inks to add color:   milled lavender , wilted violet , vintage photo , picked raspberry and touches of squeezed lemonade and spiced marmalade .  I used VersaMark ink and some clear glitter embossing powder to add some sparkle to the icing and candle.  I like to see how other crafters do things, so I thought I'd show my set-up:  I use some tape runner to temporarily tack the pieces to a

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so happy to be sharing another card with you on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! Today, I played along with the Butterfly Reflections Ink February Mood Board. If you want to find out more about the mood board, check out this post on the BRI blog. I challenged myself to stay within the colour themes of the board (pinks, red and silver) while building a scene that wouldn't normally be built with those colours. I think the final result is pretty cool! To make the background, I first blended some Distress Oxide Ink in Spun Sugar onto a panel of watercolour paper using the My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil . I then used more ink blending (Distress Oxide Ink in Festive Berries , Barn Door , Worn Lipstick and Iced Spruce ) to make the puff of lava and smoke erupting from the volcano. Hello and welcome back to the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. It's Silvia here today with an absolutely yummy card. I started by stamping images from the Mama Elephant  "Baked with love" stamp set with  Memento black ink , I colored them with alcohol markers and I fussy cut them (if you prefer, you can use the  coordinating dies ). I die cut a4 1/4x5 1/2 white rectangles and I ink blended it with salty ocean and faded jeans Distress Oxide inks and I splattered with clean water, inks and some liquid stardust drops. I then die cut two panel (one from white cardstock and one from Lawn Fawn  kraft cardstock ) using the  "Peekaboo Backdrop" die. I used the white inside panels to create the grass, using Hello Bluebird  "Grassy knoll" dies and  shubby shutters and  evergreen bough Distress Oxide inks. I then assembled all my elements with liquid glue and I added some Trinity Stamps  "Boiled Sugar-Jelly drop hearts" embell
