Roses for a Dear Friend

Welcome to today's edition of the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog! It's Janette here and it feels like it has been so long since I've said hello to my dear BRI friends! Helloooo! Today I am sharing a card with this amazing stamp set by Concord & 9th, You Are Here . Notice the sentiments and how many variations you can make with them. Really, this set is just wowzers! To create this card I began with watercolor paper , a Misti and Copic friendly and waterproof Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink . Using the Misti Precision Stamp tool is invaluable when stamping on textured cardstock like watercolor paper. The Misti allows for the image to be restamped multiple times in the exact same position so that your image will be nice and solid. I stamped the flower image 3-4 times for complete coverage and then watercolored with the darkest shading where the petal would connect at the base. The watercolor portion was completed with a beautiful blue background.  Once dry

Just for You

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple, really cute card for you today featuring products from Reverse Confetti available at the  store . I started by creating a custom background from cardstock and the Triple Chevie Die . I selected three coordinating colors, die cut the chevrons and adhered them to a cardstock base, and added a frame. I then stamped and colored the super sweet koala bear from Bear Hugs . I added some freckled details with a White Signo Uniball Pen . The koala was adhered over the chevrons and then I stamped a sentiment using  Bear Hugs  on a die cut banner from MFT's Blueprints 27 . Just a reminder that if you see something that is out of stock at the  store , please click the "Put Me On The Waiting List" button so that Vanessa knows you absolutely need this item and can try to order more!

Find Joy in the Ordinary

Well hello everyone!!  Laurie  here!!!  I'm pretty happy that March is a long month, only because it gave me the opportunity to post here...I've missed you guys :) I've really been drawn to clean and simple card making lately and am learning how to embrace white space.  So let's get started! I started by stamping the largest flower image from the  Scandinavian Prints Stamp Set  with  Memento Tuxedo Black  Ink onto white cardstock.  I stamped the centres of the flowers onto a scrap of yellow cardstock, also using black ink.  I left the flowers white but to take away a bit of the starkness, I used a cool grey alcohol marker around the edges and blended it out with a colourless blender.  I used the  Co-ordinating Dies  to cut each image out.  For the leaves, I used the new  Medallion Flower Builder Dies .  I chose two of the leaves with the open centres and the three other small solid leaves.  These were all cut out with a light grey cardstock. Once all the cutting w

Somebunny Card!

Hello everyone, this is Nicky back with you again sharing some pastel springtime goodness with this new card featuring the ultra adorable Somebunny Stamp Set by My Favorite Things . I ink blended a panel ever so delicately in pale pink, yellow and orange using Distress Inks and utilising the amazing Clarity Stencil Brushes .  I die cut the panel using Blueprints #25 by My Favorite Things to provide the stitched edge affect. I then stamped all of the images from Somebunny including the clouds with archival ink.  The clouds were ink blended in pale blue then  I watercolour painted the bunnies and chicks using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush  markers and die cut them out.  One of my clouds received a friendly smiley face care of the Rainy Days stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh . Before adhering the elements with dimensional foam tape I used Copic markers to dot in a little suggestion of ground, pebbles and grass.   I also added some subtle twinkling dots to the sky using a Gelly

Watercolor with Altenew

Happy Monday crafty friends, Kim with you this morning with a no-line Altenew watercolored flower! Products can all be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop :) I bought a new set of watercolor paints and I wanted to practice so I pulled out one of my favorite Altenew flower sets Beautiful Day . I always love to practice colouring on Altenew florals due to the size of their stamps.   I started by stamping my image using Distress Ink in Old Paper and slowly building my color. Once I finished my flower I fussy cut it once it was dry (moral to this story, always by the dies...lol)  I then used some accompanying foliage stamps from the Beautiful Day set along with the leaves from the Winnie and Walter In Bloom  Addie's Garden set . I stamped my sentiment in a mix of black and lavender inks using my Misti to mask and be able to double stamp the sections. I cut a matching card base from my Canson watercolor paper popped up my card sprinkled some Pretty Pink Posh Spa

Yo Ho Ho Take Two

Ahoy! Happy Saturday! Today I'm sharing the fun new set from Neat and Tangled called Yo Ho Ho . I adore these sweet images illustrated by Elena Roussakis.  To create the boat I used Avery Elle's Double Pierced Circle Dies . The variety of circles is perfect for making the large ship bottom and the small port holes. I painted the boat with Gansai Tambi Watercolors .  Next, I hand cut sails in a messy rectangle shape and cut a thin strip of black for the mast.  The characters from Yo Ho Ho were stamped, die cut and colored with Copic markers. I tucked them behind the boat and adhered them with glue dots .  The card was finished by embossing the sentiment on black cardstock. I bent the banner using a scoring board and trimmed the ends with scissors.  Thanks for stopping by!

Yo Ho Ho

Hey crafty friends, it's Christy here. Today I've got a super duper fun card for your guys featuring the new  Neat & Tangled Yo Ho Ho  stamp set. When I was a little girl, I used to pretend I was a Pirate Princess, so this set just spoke so much to my inner child. I actually created TWO cards because I wanted to use every image. The boy version is on my blog , if you'd like to check that out. :) I colored my images with Copic markers and die cut them with the  matching dies , then combined them with the perfect papers --  Echo Park's Pirate's Life . Aren't they just a match made in heaven? I die cut my focal panel with the  MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die-namics , then popped it up with some foam tape over my card base. As a finishing touch, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh 4mm  and  6mm Clear Droplets  with some  Ranger Multi Medium Matte I also stamped an additional sentiment on the inside using  Lawn Fawn Walnut Ink , and added the adorable im

Magical Birthday Wishes with Reverse Confetti.....

Hello !! Mayra here with you today . I am back today with this fun post ! I am obsessing over unicorns at the moment ! As you will be able to see, lol ! For today's cards I used the Reverse Confetti Unicorn Wishes Stamp Set  . The coordinating dies can be found here Unicorn Wishes  Confetti Cut Dies . I used the Neat & Tangled Scalloped Die s for both cards .  For my first card , I heat embossed the stars from the stamp set using Versamark Ink  and White Embossing Powder . The sentiments were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink  on both of the cards. I couldn't help myself I had to create a second card using this cutie .  I hope you enjoy these cards I created to share with you today !  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by !  Wishing you a wonderful and Blessed day .

Sweet and Simple

Hi, friends! Rebekah here today to show you a card made with super sweet products from  Pretty Pink Posh ! I don't know about you but there have been times when I sit down to make something and I almost feel stressed. I feel like as if every card has to be an involved process and has to outshine the last card I made. Well, here is a lesson in relaxing! Some cards can be beautiful and yet simple to make and still come from the heart! This card took less then 30 minutes to make and it even includes colored images and a shaker!  I kept my coloring  and design to a minimum and I love the results! First, I colored my images form the Pretty Pink Posh Friends Forever Stamp Set  and cut them out leaving a small border. Then, on a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of card stock I die cut a small heart using the  Stitched Heart Dies from MFT. . I also stamped my sentiment and colored a small shadow under where i will place my little girl images. I added  Foam Mounting Tape  to the panel and arou

Big Top Birthday - Neat & Tangled

Hello, Nicky back with you today with this card using the Big Top Birthday stamp and die set by Neat & Tangled . The panel of my card was cut using the largest die from Blueprints #25 by My Favorite Things .   I created a focal point by ink blending with Distress Ink in a light pink.  I die cut another panel with the same die and then used the medium sized wave die from Ocean Wave Borders by Lawn Fawn to cut 4 lengths of curtains. I ink blended 3 of these curtain pieces in a minty green and one in a pale blue and then applied them to the scene with dimensional foam tape. I then stamped the characters and other components with Ranger Archival Ink and watercolour painted them using Clean Color Real Brush Markers by Zig.  They were die cut and applied to the scene with yet more dimensional foam tape.  The final touch was a little Wink of Stella here and there for a subtle shimmer and then I set about highlighting certain points with my Uni-Ball Signo white pen, in

Spring Flowers with Lawn Fawn

Happy first day of Spring crafty friends! Kim with you on this Monday morning and I am sharing spring flowers with happy everything wishes with products that can be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop! When the new Lawn Fawn release was launched, like many of you, I wanted the whole release especially the fun critters! This Fab Flowers set however is probably one of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets ever! I stamped my flowers using my Misit in various Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts inks. I used LF Butter , LF Peachy Keen , LF Guava , LF Minty Fresh , LF Merman , LF Celery Stick , HA Fresh Lawn and LF Freshly Cut Grass  I then die cut my images with the coordinating Fab Flowers dies . I started placing my flowers and decided to die cut two panels the yellow in the back is from the Lawn Fawn Watercolour Wishes 6x6 paper pad . I die cut both panels from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles  (largest of the small rectangle set) and started placing my flowers in the bottom corner.  I

Hugs, Smile, Friend

Hello everyone, Coralynn here today and I'm excited to share a quick card with you.  I recently got the MFT Words for Friends die and it came the way it's shown below.  It was nestled nicely together so I thought it would look neat if I die cut it that way.   I took an A2 sized card base and die cut the word dies and took a piece of patterned paper from my stash and added it to the inside of the card.  I then took the adorable owl that I coloured the other day and thought she would fit perfect perched on top of the sentiment.  I added the owl to the card with an action wobbler as I thought the card needed just a bit more but I wanted the owl and sentiment to take the stage on the card so I thought the wobbler would be just enough.  Don't forget to stop by the shop.  The shop is full of wonderful goodies!   Thanks so much for stopping by! Coralynn  :)

Elphie Selfie

Happy Saturday!  Today I'm sharing stamps and dies from Elphie Selfie .  This adorable stamp set includes lots of critters (my favorite!) that I stamped, die cut and colored with Copics. The coordinating dies make cutting these cute images out so easy. For the elephant's spray I decided to do rainbow hearts. I used  Distress Oxide inks  for the hearts. These inks are so creamy and they float on top of that paper making blending super simple and fun.  I used Distress Oxide Peeled Paint  for the background and finished my card with a sentiment from Elphie Selfie  and Clear Droplets .  Thanks for joining me today! Have a wonderful weekend!

Giraffes Gone Wild

Happy Friday, crafters! It's Christy here with a card using these sweet giraffes from  Reverse Confetti's Lift Me Up . Aren't they just the cutest? And so fun to color! I used my Copic markers on these guys and die cut them with the matching dies . The  Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles  works great for so many occasions, but today I'm using them to create a birthday card. I pulled out several festive patterns that I thought worked well together and layered them up by die cutting them with the  Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables  to cover my card base, the  Stitched Journaling Card   as my focal panel, and the  Grassy Border  to add some interest. I also used one of the  Neat & Tangled Scalloped dies  on a pretty floral print to frame up that focal panel. I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Let's Celebrate with Neat & Tangled ....

Hello everyone !!  Mayra here today with today's fun post !  For today I used the super cute Neat & Tangled Big Top Birthday stamp set  . There are coordinating dies here . These are so fun and easy to color in !   I used a bit of Distress Inks for the backgrounds of each one in  Evergreen Bough  ,  Twisted Citron   and Chipped Sapphire. I used the  Mini Ink Blending Foams  by Ranger as well as the  Mini Ink Blending Tool.   These are my favorite to use with Distress Inks.   The adorable patterned paper is from the  Crate Paper Little You Boy 6 x 6 Paper Pad  .  I adore these patterns !  The sentiment is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink  . The patterned papers were die cut using   My Favorite Things Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle STAX .  I hope you enjoy these projects for today and feel inspired to create !!  Thank you so much for stopping by !  Wishing you all a wonderful and Blessed day !

Reverse Confetti Bunny Card and Tag

Hello, friends! It is Rebekah here today to show you this happy, springtime card and gift tag set I made!  I started off stamping a plaid pattern onto 2 pieces of 4 x 5 1/4 pieces of card stock using the  Plaid builder stamp set  by MY Favorite Things. This is a super easy process and practically impossible to mess up! Simply attach the long, thin stamps onto a  Fiskars Stamp Press  or on to a  MISTI  and stamp diagonally onto the paper in shades of ink in similar shades. I added a thin, contrasting navy blue  stripe using a colored pencil and a ruler. Once stamped out, I rounded the corners of the paper with a corner rounder and attached it to an 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base. I then used the MFT  Scalloped Circle Die   to cut a circle from white and navy blue cardstock. I colored and cut out these adorable little bunnies and accessory stamps from a  Reverse Confetti set called  HippItty Hoppity . I think they are too cute! I used the  Fishtail Banners
