Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana here. I can't believe it is already the last day of January! Time flies too fast... With saying good bye to this month, I have a lovely card to share with you today. Here is what I came up with.  (Listed supplies are in the bottom of post.) To start, I stamped cupids from Pretty Pink Posh Cupid Friends stamp set with Altenew Permanent Black Crisp Ink and colored them copic markers. I applied Nuvo Ebony Black and Morning Dew to their eyes and heart arrows. I also added sparkles to their wings using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen Clear Overlay. I then fussy cut them using scissors. Before getting to background, I die cut scalloped heart from white card stock using Pretty Pink Posh Love Shaker Dies. I then started to blend background using Distress Oxide inks and Mini Blending Tool. From bottom to top, I used Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral and Antique Linen. I spritzed water and let it dried. Hello hello, Happy Tuesday! Alix here showing my card for today. When I was creating this card, a movie called "Just Friend" came up to my mind. This movie was talking about a formerly overweight high school nerd who attempts to free himself from the friend zone after reconnecting with his lifelong crush and best friend while visiting his hometown for Christmas. So here comes my story of this card. Two best friends are together celebrating the boy's birthday. They both have feeling for each other but not brave enough to express their feelings for love more than a friend. Thank goodness that Cupid's arrow is aiming them to help. Something miracle is about to happen... There are 3 layers to make this card. To make top layer, I cut top edge of paper using Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border die . then using Pretty Pink Posh Love Shaker die to create the window. Hi guys! Erica on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today and I have three projects for you. All with the Pantone of the year: Ultraviolet ! I must admit that purple isn't my favourite colour but I do know many people who love it. My mother is one. These projects are all done with her in mind. Her birthday isn't until May but you know, it's never to soon to plan ahead when you are making handmade gifts. I used both Copic markers, alcohol inks and metallic mixatives on Yupo paper. I love seeing the inks mix on this paper, it's mesmerising! If you haven't tried it yet, you HAVE to! My first piece was done using grey and purple Copic markers directly on the Yupo paper, in wide stripes. Then, using a small natural sponge (you can usually find these in water colour supplies sections of stores) soaked in Copic blending solution , I dragged the sponge vertically along the stripes to activate the ink and the paper. Hey folks, it's Norine  and I'm back on the blog again today and switching it up from all the flower cards a couple of days back.  Today I'm sharing a couple of cute and simple cards! I stamped the image from the True Love Luggage stamp set by Brutus Monroe  twice, once onto Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock for coloring with the Zig Clean Color markers (the Bon Voyage card), and again onto Neenah Solar White cardstock for coloring with Copics (the "Follow You Anywhere card). I stamped the sentiments using individual alphabet stamps like these ones from Lawn Fawn, called Milo's ABCs .  The Bon Voyage sentiment is stamped with all the alphabets bumped together on the MISTI , but for the "follow" sentiment, I didn't have as much room to fit it all in so I drew a line with a straight edge and a pencil, and stamped each letter individually. Hi everyone! Jenny here, I'm back and gatecrashing the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog for today only.  I've got a fun card showing you how you can use one of the fab Paper Smooches cross stitch dies along with some stamping.  It takes a little effort but it's so fun! To create my card, I used the Paper Smooches cross stitch die to cut an A2 sized panel of thick (110lb) pale grey pink cardstock.  I die cut it in the centre.  It's important to use thicker cardstock for this as it makes it much easier to stitch. I then used a variety of DMC embroidery floss (6 strand skein) to stitch the panel.  I used a tapestry needle and 4 strands to stitch the panel, changing the floss colour every 4 lines of crosses.  You can create fantastic patterns with this die, but I wanted to do something fairly simple. When I completed the panel, I trimmed it down around the edges (don't cut any of the thread!).  I then die cut the same colour card and a piece of craft foam usin

Hi, hello!  Norine here, back again with some floral cards to share with you.  I made 5 with one image from the Charmed stamp set by Altenew .   It wasn't my intention to make that many, (it never is) but I do like to stamp several in case one or two go straight south, then I still have some back ups.  But there were no oopsies this time, I kinda liked them all and couldn't eliminate any. The other reason for so many, was to try out a couple of different surfaces with the Prima IOS Water-Soluble Oil Pastels .  All the first cards are stamped on watercolor paper, and the last two are on vellum. These oil pastels are thick, and rich and creamy and a little goes a long way.  Just a few strokes of color inside the flower shapes, once activated with water, was enough to cover the whole flower. The card below was created using the red, orange-yellow and salmon pink pastel crayons.  The "thanks" sentiment is from the Deerest Friends set by Right At Home .

  Hello crafters! Ali here from alilovescardmaking ( instagram /youtube) with two cards in one of my favorite colour combinations: purple and green (well, turquoise really). I always think of Peacocks when these colours combine....is that the same for anyone else? I have used the fabulous Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Die to create a stencil and produced these pair of bright and striking cards. I used some heavy weight card to create the stencil - this is because it does become quite saturated with ink if you are making a few cards at the same time, and the 'gaps' between the leaves can get delicate and tear if your paper is thin (trust me I know this from experience!!) you will need to cut and 'turn' the die 4 times - I just turned my paper 90 degrees after each cut and then used my eye to line the die up again (hint: turn the paper over and check from the back that your cut lines are not ;overlapping' with your last cut - I learned this f

Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana here coming back with one more Valentine's day themed card.  I combined MFT with Altenew products for today's card. Let's get started! To start, I stenciled clouds with Distress Oxide Ink Picked Raspberry using MFT Stencil Mini Cloud Edges and mini blending tool. I die cut hillside using MFT Die-namics Grassy Hills and ink blended it with MFT Spearmint Dye Ink. I stacked up papers for my background from bottom to top, white card base, pink card stock, silver strip foiled vellum, stenciled one and hillside using glue tape and craft foam. Next, I die cut deers from white card stock and white glittery paper using MFT Die-namics Deer Love. I mounted them on the background using glue tape. I then embellished hearts from Pretty Pink Posh Red Heart Confetti around the antler using mini foam adhesive. This work needed lots of patience to me but it was worth doing. I applied Nuvo Crystal Ebony Black to deers' eyes and let them dried.

Hello everyone and Hello Tuesday, I am starting to make my shopping list after 3 days previews of all kinds of products from Creativation 2018. How about you? Did you see anything that amazed you so far? Today we are getting back to simple. I am trying to keep it clean. You know it’s usually hard for me not adding lots of elements. Let us see if you like my style this time. I used two frame dies to prepare the foundation base. Die-namic Wonky stitched rectangle Stax for the outer edge and Lawn Fawn Outside in Stitched Scalloped rectangle stackables die for the inner frame. I added foam tape to raise the frame that I created to form some dimension. For background prep, I used ink blending technique by using Tim Holtz distress oxide ink in Picked Raspberry and Fossilized Amber . I splattered some white acrylic paint using a paint brush to build some textures. I set them aside and started to work on images from Lawn Fawn Thankful Mice stamp set . I used masking technique

Hello, fellow crafty people! It’s Monday and it is I, Erica, back on the BRI blog today. I’m still brimming with excitement about being on this fab DT, in case that wasn’t clear, lol!  I have two cards for you today, both these cards are made with the same stamp set: Out Of This World from Lawn Fawn . This is quite a traditionally ‘boyish’ stamp set but as girls can be anything they want (except for sperm donors really... ) I also made a girl astronaut card. Both my backgrounds are made with Gansai Tambi water colours , both the 36-pack and the Starry Colors pack for some gold shimmer splatters. The blue one I spread the water colours in stripes (and splattered lots of white paint on it )to see what it would look like and this one was originally meant for another project but I messed it up when I heat embossed some stars on it in gold.
