Hope...this makes you smile!

Hi everyone!!  I'm  so happy to be a guest on the BRI blog today!! I used a few different companies for my card today, so let's get started! I started by picking out quite a few Altenew Ink colours.  I chose:   Volcano Lake ,   Mountain Mist ,  Buttercream ,  Frayed Leaf ,  Soft Lilac ,  Rose Quartz ,  Puffy Heart  and a little bit of  Sea Glass .  I use the mini ink cubes so this is an affordable way to have lots of colours!! I stamped the solid image flowers from the  Doodle Flowers 2 Stamp Set  from Jane's Doodles onto a white card panel.  (This stamp set is ON SALE AND IN STOCK while I'm typing this!!)  This set is so pretty and whimsical. To add a bit of detail to the flowers, I used coloured pencils and basically flicked colour from the centre of the petals out.  Super easy but makes a world of difference! I cut a bit off the bottom using one of the dies from the  Scallop Border Dies  from Pretty Pink Posh.  This set is new to me and I love it!  I foam mount

Make a splash

Hello everyone! Gladys here and I'm sharing this summer card with you today.   I used the adorable Beach Day stamp set from Neat and Tangled . It comes with three animals an elephant, rhino and a hippo dressed in their swim suits. I had a lot of fun coloring them with copic markers.    For my background I die cut the Horizontal Stripes Elle-ments by Avery Elle . I colored it with peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, twisted citron, squeezed lemonade and abandoned coral distress inks . I adhered the critters with foam tape for dimension. I also used glossy accent on the rhino's goggles and wink of stella on their swim suits. I hope you are enjoying your summer! Thanks for stopping by, till next time! HUGS!!!

A Magical Unicorn!

Hey, everyone! It's Lynnea and I'm here with a cutie unicorn card! Unicorns seem to be all the rage these days and I've jumped on the bandwagon! Let's dive in! There is so much shimmer and shine on this card! I wish the camera could capture it! I'll have some close-ups later on that show the glitter a little better. I started by stamping the hearts and rainbows from the  Jane's Doodles Unicorn  stamp set in  Versamark  ink onto a panel of watercolor paper. I also stamped the unicorn on a spare piece of watercolor paper. I embossed the images with  Zing! Black embossing powder  and then watercolored all of the images with my  Gansai Tambi  watercolor set. Once the watercolor was dry I added a thick coat of  Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter  to the white areas - the clouds and the body of the unicorn. I added a regular layer to all of the colored areas. I added a coat of  Glossy Accents  to the clouds, hearts, and the unicorn. I thought I would pu

Hurray & Hello Lovely

Hello lovelies, Crystal here with my Friday Inspiration for this last Friday of July. Sure seems Summer just got started and all I see around me is the back to school sales and advertisements. To keep my mind off it, I am thinking of all those upcoming fall weddings and birthdays. Shades of Gray seems to be the perfect fit for both...To make this card I am using two of my favorite items from Concord & 9th, Hurray stamp set, and Hello Lovely stamp set. To make this card, I began with my gray cardstock as a base, then stamped in Altenew I ndustrial Diamond & Dark Graphite the pattern from the Hurray stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Dark Graphite. Next, I stamped the floral from Hello Lovely and fuzzy cut that. Adhered to the card with foam adhesive. Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins were added and a touch of white gold watercolor from Gansai Tambi Starry was the finishing touch. I love the minimalist look of this card. Thanks so much

Stay Cool!!!

Hello Friends Waleska here with a cool card to remind you to STAY COOL.. This Waffle Flower bear from the  Stay Cool Stamp Set   looks so relaxed that everytime I use him on a card I wish I was him! CARD DETAILS: For the card today I wanted make a pattern on the card base , so I repeatedly stamped the watermelon from the stamp set for that, I die cut an oval from the  Die-namics Stitched Oval Scallop Frames  in the center to create a little scene with the cool bear, for the water and the background I used some of the new Oxide Ink colors  Twisted Citron  and  Peacock Feathers . I colored the bear with markers and use Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Black  for his bathing suit and to complete the background with the watermelons I use  Nuvo Crystal Drops Carribean Ocean . I added a little bird and the sentiment to finish it up! I hope you have a wonderful and cool day! Remember all the new products at the shop and the Lawn Fawn pre-order you can do! Waleska

Striped Doodle Flowers

Happy, happy hump day! Hope you all are having a GREAT week! I made two cards this week using the same stamps; one monochromatic with Copics, the other soft and colorful with Zig Clean Color Markers. I stamped the watercolor background stamps on the main panel as well as the base card, the main panel is cut with MFT Blueprints and layered with fun foam. The monochromatic flowers were stamped with Jet Black ink, colored with Copics and layered onto a partial stitched circle from MFT.   On the Zig card, I embossed the images with white embossing powder and layered onto a partial white doily. The sentiments are from Right at Home, Script Sayings, I used the Misti to stamp the sentiments so I could stamp multiple times for a solid impression, particularly since the one actually stamps on the doily. Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to check out all the amazing items at Butterfly Reflections Ink - particularly that sale section  or the Stamp and Die s

Friends Like You Are Rare

Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 here to share a sparkly shaker card with you... I absolutely love this stamp set from Neat and Tangled!  It's called You're A Gem and there is a coordinating  die set available which always makes creating your project a little easier and faster. After coloring and die cutting these fun gems, I gave them all a bit of shimmer with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush Marker.   I love all the sparkle! After creating the shaker portion of my card, I added lots of fun colored sequins.  I used several sequin mixes from Neat and Tangled including:  Pixie Dust , Peacock Feather and Mermaid Tail. To add a little more dimension, I used Scotch Foam Mounting Tape to add my sparkly gems to my card base.   This was such a fun card to put together.  Thanks so much for letting me share it with you today!  Have a great day and I'll see you soon.

Layered Stamping with Distress Oxides

Hi crafty friends!! Kari  with you to share this card featuring the  Budding Thanks  set from Altenew.  Their stamp sets, particular the layering sets are so beautiful, but they can be a bit intimidating.  I didn't let that stop me in purchasing this set, with its  coordinating dies .   There are many inks you could use to ink up these beautiful flowers, but I wanted to use Distress Oxide inks.  They are great for full coverage inking since there is a fusion of dye and pigment ink.   I used  Twisted Citron ,  Lucky Clover ,  Worn Lipstick , and  Candied Apple . I wanted to keep this card fairly clean and simple, because I wanted that flower to take center stage.  For my sentiment, I used the set  crafty friends  also from Altenew.  I also wanted to an "ombre" look to the sentiment as well, so I used both the Worn Lipstick and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks to achieve that look. I also stamped an additional leaf and die cut its coordinating d

Happy Birthday - I wobble!

Hello everyone, I am excited to be back with an interactive card for your today. I used a few stamp sets and lately I keep gravitating to MFT and Lawn Fawn.  I have a soft spot for Lawn Fawn. I started out with a white panel and stamped the the pineapple background stamp from MFT with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink. I set that aside to dry while I worked on the adorable pineapple from Lawn Fawn.  I used my copics (Y02, Y13 & Y17 - YG 25 & YG67) to colour it and I die cut the sunglasses from Lawn Fawn black card stock. and popped it up with foam tape. The background panel was dry so I took a LF dotted circle die and cut out the centre. I then took the same LF dotted circle dies and cut out a frame from some green card stock. I found some acetate and added that to the back of the panel and then added foam tape to create the well for the shaker goodies.  I dusted it with an anti static tool and added chunky glitter and some clear sequins from my stash.  I have to

So Grapeful!

Hey Everybody! It's Saturday again, which means I'm up on the design blog with another card. A few weeks ago, I talked about coming up with some "template" type ideas to roll out when I wanted a simple card. I incorporated that idea into today's card. I love a good pun on a card. I especially love the contrast of an artsy or classically colored card with a funny or snarky sentiment. It's just kind of....jarring, for lack of a better word. And I think that's so fun when you open a card and see that. I began by using one of the images from the Memory Box We Gouda Together stamp set and stamped it repeatedly over my paper with my favorite black ink . I then broke out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and picked out some purples and went to work coloring these grape images.  I then stamped the sentiment from the set on to a piece of purple cardstock in Versamark ink and white heat embossed it. I mounted it on a piece of patterned pap

Say it with Florals

Hi there! Crystal here with a very floral card featuring the newest release from Pink Fresh Studios! This set is absolutely gorgeous and really fun to work with. The various petals allow for layering and the variety of sentiments are awesome.  To make this card I began by trimming a yellow card stock to be my background. I stamped the sentiment in black ink. Next, the white card stock was die cut with Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Borders Die. Now to the fun stamping part: All flowers were stamped with the following Altenew Crisp Inks in alternating order. Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, Caramel Toffee, Paper Bag. The leaves were stamped in Olive and Moss .   I simply love one layer cards as they don't require extra postage. This pattern of florals reminds me of sweet summer days. That is all for me today, I hope you enjoy the weekend and get some crafty time! Crystal

Flamingo Pool Party

Hello Friends Waleska here with another Summer Card for you, I love the  Flamingo Floatie Stamp Set  from Neat and Tangled, in the minute I saw this cute girl I knew I needed to use it on a Pool Party Summer Card.   There are plenty of this sets at the shop  if you want to add this to your stash, for your Summer cards.... CARD DETAILS: I wanted to create a pool background for the girl to be floating, so I found this technique in youtube let me share it with you because in my opinion it makes a very cool water look. I started with a background fully colored with Distress Oxide Ink Peacock Feathers  (which is my new favorite) after that I used a crumpled ball of Aluminium Foil I sprayed with water and pat down the paper with it to add the water texture to the background, and dry it with a  Heat Tool . I did the second background with two of my favorite Oxide Ink summer colors  Fossilized Amber  and  Worn Lipstick  (this two blend so well together) I created

Modern Peony in Pink

Hi friends! Welcome back - it's another HUMP DAY...and my birthday celebration has NOT ended yet! :D Several girlfriends and I are doing an escape room Friday night, then dinner! THEN my celebration will officially be over! HA! Meanwhile, if you have followed along with Vanessa for very long, then you probably know about the loss of her brother! He battled some tough demons; Vanessa has kept her shop running, shipped packages non-stop amidst the angst and heartache. She's so strong! I created this card for her and sent her way; sympathy cards are never easy to make! I stamped the images with Versmark and embossed with white embossing powder then colored with a base layer of Tombow markers and finished it off with Prismacolor Pencils. I did an all over background wash of gray, then added some stronger shadows under the flower and leaves. The sentiment was embossed on vellum and layered on top of other papers. I die cut 2 stitched squares to accentuate the flower an

Sending You Oceans of Love

Hi there and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink!  This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a "mermazing" card to share with you.... Isn't she adorable? This little cutie is from the  Mermazing Stamp Set from My Favorite Things . To create my background I inked up some white cardstock using the following Distress Inks: Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet .  After allowing the inks to dry I stamped my background with the Mermaid Tail Background Stamp from My Favorite Things using  Versamark Ink.   Next I sprinkled on Ranger's  Super Fine Embossing Powder in White and heat embossed my background.  I also heat embossed my sentiment on a strip of black cardstock.      Using the scalloped die from the Die-namics Blueprint #27, I cut out a piece of silver glitter cardstock to go under my heat embossed panel.  This was adhered to a black cardbase.  I colored my sweet mermaids with Copic markers and added some wonderful sparkle wi

A-Maze-ing Birthday!

Hi friends!  Welcome back to the BRI Blog!   Kari  with you, and I wanted to share this interactive birthday card featuring some fun products from My Favorite Things!  Who doesn't love a fun interactive birthday card, or just an interactive card in general?! This set  from MFT is awesome, and to pair it up with the fun  Maze Shapes  which you can also purchase in  black , shaker pouches , and then add one of the  Maze Spheres , you can quickly create a fun element on a card!! To start my card, I created my background with some  Distress Oxide Inks  in Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, and Picked Raspberry, and the smaller panel with Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean.   For the panel for the maze, I die cut it with the largest of the  Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Square Tags  die set.  To create my frame for my maze element I used the  MFT Circle Shaker Window  die set with some  Ciltrano  card stock. My tip when assembling the Maze element is to us
