Unicorns & Rainbows

Hello there, friends! It's Christy from Christy Gets Crafty here today with a cute card featuring  My Favorite Things Fairy-tale Friends . These unicorns and rainbows are so much fun to color! And to make things even sweeter, I added in a few cupcakes from  Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay . After I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers , I trimmed them out with the  matching dies.  Then I die-cut two cloud panels using  Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders . I glued the back one down flat to the card base with liquid glue, then stamped my sentiment on the front panel with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and popped it up with foam tape . I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, then stamped out the little sparkle marks from A Little Sparkle in Forget-Me-Not and Moonstone ink . As a finishing touch, I dabbed on a bit of Crystal Stickles to my unicorns horn and wings, the rainbow, and cupcake liners to  bring some bling. I

Best Day Ever

Hello friends! Davina here on the blog today and I’m sharing another soft colored card using the July Mood Board that the crazy talented Butterfly Reflections Ink team put out at the beginning of this month. The sherbet pastel colors really made me happy and I’ve been able to create some very different looks with the same few colors. Today I’ve use a great stamp and die set by The Greeting Farm called  Best Day Ever  and it’s currently on clearance on the website (link provided) . So really, you can’t  afford to pass it up! I love the Disney vibes it throws off so I wanted to create an amusement park scene since they really are the best days. Now I’m a little “extra” , to say the least. So once the idea was in my head, and I finally had some time to create, I drew a basic version of its a small world. It’s maybe a small 3x3 image that is compromised of mostly rectangles and boxes, with a few circles and and triangles. I colored it with Copics, in the four colors of the moo

Cardmaking is my Superpower!

Hello Friends Waleska here again from craftinglovew, I am super excited to be back to share with you a card featuring one of my superpowers....and I know I share it with many of you and that is CARDMAKING!!!    CARD DETAILS: To create this fun card I used the oh so adorable Heffy Doodle Super Dudes Stamp Set  and a bunch of Oxide Inks for the background. I started the background from the bottom with Oxide Ink Squeezed Lemonade  because I wanted the city to glow in the night sky.  For the night sky I created a circle diecut mask with Gina K,  Masking Magic Sheets  which are awesome for the moon, and started blending with Stormy Sky Oxide Ink , then a mix of  Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean  and finished with Chipped Saphire and Black Soot in the corners for a more dramatic night sky. I used white acrylic paint mixed with water and a fine paintbrush to create the stars.  After I created the night sky I removed the mask and start adhering all the images t

Made to Soar

Hello, everyone!  Toni here with you today sharing a good luck card. I stamped the Hello Bluebird Maverick images with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics . I added Clear Wink of Stella and Ranger Glossy Accents to jazz up the plane. Blingy bling! Before assembling the images onto the card front, I cut the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes 6x6 Paper down to size and used one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Trails for behind the plane. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black then adhered the images using Gina K Connect Glue and Scotch Foam Tape .  I'm looking forward to giving this to one of our departing students at the end of the summer! If you'd like to check out my other creations, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft , my Instagram , or my Pinterest Board .

Monster Wishes with Avery Elle

Hi Crafters! Ali here and welcome back to the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog. Hope your weekend has been amazing so far! I have been working on a fun card for you today using the Avery Elle Peek-a-boo Scary stamps set. I began by creating a black gate-fold card and then cutting a circle with a circle die from the two front panels (I cut half-circle at a time). I then inked up some white card using the English Brick Wall Stencil and cut a slightly larger circle in this piece, trimming the edges and cutting in half to fit two front panels of my black cardbase. I inked an extra piece of white card and cut a circle for the inside of the card. I coloured the images with my Copic Markers and cut them out. I cut extra shapes for the front monsters so they had a 'backing' when you opened the card (if you have the dies , just cut an extra die for each monster from black card). I adhered three monsters to peek out the front of the card and one inside with the monster wi

Mama Elephant's Beach Chickies

Hey friends! Britney here featuring  Mama Elephant’s Beach Chickies . I wish I could be a beach chickie already! I think I am channeling my need for the beach through my cards right now. I cut my background using the  Mama Elephant Hillside Cover . I masked off the border to keep it white…for now. Then I slid a piece of paper between the hills and inked it up using  Lawn Fawn Doe Ink .  I splattered different brown distress oxide inks to give the background the pebble, sand look. I masked off the middle and left a slight white border. I used the stitch lines as a guide. I inked up my masks with  Lawn Fawn Fish Tank Ink . After I peeled off the masks and let everything completely dry, I stamped the sentiment using  Lawn Fawn Embossing Ink   and used white embossing powder. I used a white gel pen to do the dot detail on the beach.  I inked up my images on smooth white cardstock using   Gina K Black Amalgam Ink   and colored them with my Copics. I used the coordinating dies to cu

Otterly Great Birthday

Hello everyone! It's Ashley with an otterly adorable birthday card for you today! I started this card by softly blending Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink on white cardstock. I die cut the piece with an A2-size stitched rectangle die , then used Lawn Fawn Stitched Wave Borders to cut the background into pieces. I blended more Tumbled Glass and a bit of Mermaid Lagoon to the bottoms of the pieces to add depth, before piecing everything back together on my card base. I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders to create a small hill and colored it by blending Bundled Sage Distress Ink in different intensities. I stamped three cute otters and other images from Hello Bluebird Otter Friends , along with the cattails from Hello Bluebird Fishin' Hole in Lawn Fawn Jet Black and colored with my Copic markers . I also used the waves in Otter Friends with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to add more interest to my water background. I attached one otter and the cattails t

Fresh-Cut Flowers Shaker

Hi Crafty Friends, Julianne here sharing a shaker card featuring the MFT Fresh-Cut Flowers Background stamp . In May I attended a MFT class where we water colored this stamp set and I really wanted to create a card with this image using Zig Clean Color Pens.  Using my MISTI I stamped the floral image around the border of some watercolor card stock. Since I wanted to watercolor the images I white heat embossed them using White Detail Embossing Powder  from Hero Arts. It is really hard to see the images when you do this, but it gives some beautiful results once you start adding color.  When using these markers, I love using a variety of colors to make my own.  Once I had water colored all the flowers and background I really wasn't happy with the middle section, I just couldn't get a nice flow of color because it was such a large area so I decided instead of wasting it I was going to cut out the center only leaving a border around the flowers. I really like the way it came

Hey GHOULfriend!

Hi crafty friends, it's Heather here with you today sharing a not-so-spooky birthday card threesome that I created by mixing up Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant products with a dash of Distress Oxides for fun! OK, I confess, I'm NOT good at making holiday cards (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc). However, I LOVE making seasonal themed BIRTHDAY cards for my friends and family members!! If you're on my Birthday Card List - and your birthday falls in September or October - you're probably getting a Halloween themed card haha! So, you get the point, friends, these LOOK like Halloween cards - but I don't send Halloween cards - they're actually Birthday cards with a Halloweeny theme! These cards started last year, actually! I used a combination of Mijello Mission Gold and Daniel Smith water colors to paint the ghosts from Lawn Fawn's Booyah Stamp Set and cut them out using the matching dies . They then sat in my craft room waiting for the per

Lawn Fawn Stitched Flower Frame Dies

Hi everyone, Amanda here today as a guest designer!  I've got a new card to show you, featuring a bunch of Lawn Fawn products that I really loved working with!  I started with an A2 sized card base and added some pretty plaid paper cut a little smaller. I used a scalloped edged rectangle from Newton's Nook Designs Frameworks Dies  in Lawn Fawn Sticky Note Cardstock . I die cut all the pieces for my card using: Flower and Leaves: Lawn Fawn Stitched Flower Frame Dies Flower Face: Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Flower Dies Banner: Lawn Fawn Fancy Wavy Banner Dies Grass: Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Sentiment: Lawn Fawn Wavy Sayings Stamp Set I decided to do a little inking on the cut pieces. I used Ballet Slippers and Cilantro Cardstock by Lawn Fawn for the flower and leaves. I then distress inked them in Worn Lipstick on the flower, Mustard Seed on my face and Mowed Lawn on my leaves. Distress Ink section at Butterfly Reflections Ink  I then glued d

Spin Me Around for the Surprise Inside

Hey friends! Britney here featuring a card with a fun surprise…a Turner Surprise. Mama Elephant’s  Turner Surprise Creative Cuts  and  Circle of Friends  stamp set will be featured on this card.  Starting with my background, I cut a sheet of rainbow paper from the  Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow paper pack  using the largest of the  Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies . I like how it leaves a nice white frame around the card. I cut the turner handle piece using a scrap of that same rainbow paper. I cut my scalloped circle out of  Lawn Fawn No. 2 Pencil cardstock .   I stamped my sentiments using  Lawn Fawn Embossing Ink  and used white embossing powder on the background and the scalloped circle. Doing this kind of stamping is always easier before everything is adhered together.  I inked up my images on smooth white cardstock using   Gina K Black Amalgam Ink   and colored them with my Copics. I used the other circle from the  Turner Surprise Creative Cuts  to cut out my  Cir

You Make Me Smile

Hello everyone! It's Ashley with a sweet card inspired by this month's mood board ! I just love this color palette! It reminds me of fruity sherbet - yum! I started by making a Distress Oxide blended background with the featured colors. I used Worn Lipstick , Tattered Rose ,  Mustard Seed , and Cracked Pistachio . It ended up a bit more intense than I was hoping for, so I softened it by adding a piece of vellum die cut with Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Stackables on top.  I grabbed several Hello Bluebird sets and stamped the images I wanted in my favorite black ink, Lawn Fawn Jet Black . I used the amazing flowers in Fairy Garden , some critters from Garden Friends , and the adorable mice are from the new Field Mice set. I colored them in with my  Copics , mostly with colors as close as I could get to the mood board color palette, and added a few white gel pen highlights.  I finished the card with a sentiment from Hello Bluebird Rainbow Script stam

Seaside

Hi crafty friends and Happy Wednesday, Julianne here bringing you a beach inspired card using some new Hello Bluebird products. If you are anything like me you love this newer company, the stamp sets they come out with are just so adorable and this month was no different.    This card was so fun to make, with my MISTI I stamped out the Seaside Girls Stamp Set , aren't these little girls just adorable? I just love both girls and the adorable seagull with the sea shell. I stamped everything out with VersaFine Black Ink, and colored in with copic markers. Once I had everything colored I die cut them with their coordinating Seaside Girls Dies .  Next I started working on the background, I used the Ocean Scene Die  that was also in the June release. I colored in the water area with B00, B000, B0000 and the sand I used Y23, E33. Instead of using the clouds that come in the scene I used the MFT Clou d Stenci l as well as Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide  to make the clouds. In
