Such a Flamazing Day

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing this fun, summer card featuring a mix of Avery Elle and Lawn Fawn products! Love it! I used the super adorable images from the Flamazing stamp set by Avery Elle ! That little guy just cracks me up! He's so cute! I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! Couldn't be easier! To create the background, I used Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn , Twisted Citron and Pine Needles to ink blending starting in one corner. Then, I placed the Tropical Leaves Background Stencil on top, and used the same colors to ink blend through the stencil on top! I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock , and placed it on the side of the card, for a little fun! Hopefully you're enjoying your summer like this swimming flamingo! Enjoy! ~ Samantha

'Tis the season...

Hi everyone!  I'm back on the blog today with a fun holiday card featuring some old and new sets from Avery Elle.  I love to mix and match stamp and die sets from my collection to create new scenes! To start, I ink blended the background using distress oxide colors picked raspberry and mermaid lagoon .  Then the background was splatted with water and white gouache paint.  I mixed glitz glitter gel with gloss super heavy gel medium and used a spatula to spread across the bottom of the card.  You could use any type of glitter paper for this purpose, but I like the translucent look of the heavy gel.  The panel was then left to dry overnight. On a piece of Arches cold pressed watercolor paper, I stamped images from snow much fun and polar peek-a-boo pals using versafine clair ink .  Images were then colored using zig clean color brush pens and a water brush.  Images were cut using the coordinating dies.  Then, using postage stamp die and...

Watercolored Piggies at the Beach

Hi there!  It's Andrea with you today, and I'm so delighted to be guest-designing on the BRI blog! Slimline cards are wildly popular on social media, and I couldn't resist making one with those cute piggies from Hello Bluebird's Beach Babes set.  The card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2", which lets you use alot of images on one card without it being overcrowded.  Another bonus is that with one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock you can create both your cardbase and front panel.  Score! I stamped all of the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink and watercolored them with my Zigs.  Once they were dry, I cut them out with my scissors (Coordinating dies are available, however). To create my background, I first masked off the horizon line with postit tape.  With MFT's Drifts & Hills Stencil in place, I inked up the water with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.  I used Neat & Tangled's Rice Paddies stencil with the same ink to create ...

Floating into Summer

Hello, BRI friends!  It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of sharing on the BRI blog, but I'm happy to be back with you today! My card today screams SUMMER!!!  It features some oldie-but-goodie products and was a total blast to create! Aren't those colors so dreamy?!  And I just love that cutie patootie from Neat & Tangled's Flamingo Floatie !  (FYI, this stamp set is on SALE in the shop right now!)  I stamped her with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored her with my Zigs.  Naturally, I added some highlights with my white gel pen ("Have gel pen, will travel" is my motto). While I love that little girl on her floatie, I'm totally head-over-heels for the yummy colors of that background!  On an A2 panel of Bristol Smooth paper, I masked off a horizon line and blended on Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.  Next, I placed Neat & Tangled's Rice Paddies Stencil on top and added more Mermaid Lagoon.  I didn't get the ...

Jungle Shadow Box Card

Hi there!  It's Andrea filling in today, and I'm delighted to be back with you all.  Do you ever buy products when they come out because you just have to them and then never get around to using them?  Well, that's the case for the card I'm sharing today: I have had these stamps and dies for ages and only just got around to playing with them (head hangs in shame).  These stamps dies might be "old" in the papercrafting world (Age is relative, right?), but they are still so cute!  I stamped those adorable images from the Hello Bluebird Jungle Littles stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink  onto Bristol Smooth paper.  After watercoloring them with my Zigs, I cut them out and added some highlights with a white gel pen . Using Lawn Fawn's Shadow Box Card Die , I die-cut two card panels and the two hills from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.  I scored the lines with a bone folder and placed ScorTape on the tabs.  I adhered the panels to...

My Favorite Things Critters :)

Happy Friday! Kim with you this morning and I am so happy the weekend has arrived, it has been a super cold first week of March! But things are looking up as of this weekend! So, I wanted to make a spring themed card! For my project today, I decided to make a Tri-Fold card to be able to use as many of these fantastic MFT critters - Tweet Friends and Joyful Hearts Bears designed by Stacy Yacula. For this, I took a piece of Bristol cardstock and cut it to 5.5 x 12 so that I could score both sides at 4 inches. By using Bristol, I decided to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I stamped all of my images using my stamping tool, I decided to space everything accordingly so that I did not have to mask anything (although, masking would have been easy). I stamped and colored all of my images before stencilling my clouds and grass (both MFT stencils). I just find it so much simpler avoiding the images with the Distress ink and easier to properly stencil the blades of g...

Sending Some Beary Warm Wishes

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing this CUTE as can be card! I used the new Stay Cool stamp set from Neat and Tangled ! I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat set the ink. Once it was cool, I started coloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out the image!  I added some details with a white pen, and then some foam tape to the back of the image! But you could also use the coordinating dies to make things REAL easy! For the background, I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold to do some ink blending! Then, I splattered some water and white acrylic paint onto the background! The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock! :) A few clear sequins finished off the card! Hope this made you smile, and brightened your Saturday up a little!  ~ Samantha

Thinking of You: Watercolored Petunias

Hello, BRI fans!  It's Andrea back with you (Long time no see, right?) sharing some watercolored petunias.  The Pretty Petunias stamp from Pretty Pink Posh has been out for awhile, but it's just so perfect for this time of year, that I couldn't resist pulling it out for today's post. Honestly, I have had this set since it was released, but only just took it out of its package.  (I'm sure none of you buys stamps because you just "have to have" them and then don't use them for awhile, right?)  Anywho, I stamped all of those gorgeous images with Versafine Onyx black ink onto Bristol Smooth paper and watercolored them with my Zigs and a waterbrush. Once they were dry, I cut them out and added some white dots with a gel pen in the flower centers.  Since I'm being honest today, the white gel pen scares me sometimes.  I can't tell you how many times I've added details with it and totally regretted doing so.  There needs to be a ...

Nuvo Glimmer Paste with Distress Ink Blending

Happy 4th of July, everyone! It's Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog. I hope that everyone in the U.S. is having a nice holiday. I should have done a red, white, and blue themed card, but I didn't think ahead so you're getting a glittery and flowery card instead. I hope that's okay! :) We can pretend that the  Tonic Studios Nuvo Glimmer Paste  is like fireworks... right?! Anyway, let's get started on the card.    I have a new obsession and it's involving  Nuvo Glimmer Paste  and any stencil that is on hand. For this particular card, I used  Moonstone Glimmer Paste  which is awesome to layer over ink blended backgrounds. For this, I used  Salty Ocean  and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks that I blended with  mini ink blending tools  onto Bristol Smooth Card stock. Here you can see the ink blending a little bit better. After the ink blending was dry, I used the  Hero Arts Abstract Wave Stencil ...

Spring Floral Cards

Happy hump day, BRI friends! It's Dana here and I have two cards to share with you today. I made both backgrounds very easily using washi tape and patterned paper. Here are what I came up with. For my first card, I started by stamping cherry blossoms and leaves from Pretty Pink Posh Cherry Blossom Stamp Set onto cold pressed watercolor paper. I watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and die cut with coordinating dies. I applied Nuvo Cristal Drops Ebony Black to each stamens for detail. I then die cut sentiments using Pretty Pink Posh Hello Friends Script Die from black card stock. I also applied Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew to each words for glossy effect after I mounted them on the background. For background, I adhered wide washi tape on A2 sized white card stock. I shopped it yesterday at my local store called Daiso in very good price, about one dollar. Isn't it awesome? :) I then ink blended top part with Peacock Feather Distress Ink us...

Shaker Card using Cover Die

Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana here coming back with another Wednesday inspiration. Today, I'd like to share multi shaker card using several Altenew products. Here is what I came up with. For this card, I freely drew stripes using three colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to bristol paper. I wiped the brush strokes gently with baby wipe. It tuned out gorgeous watercolor look as shown. I repeated this process total two times. I then die cut one of them using Altenew Watercolor Stripes Cover Die. Next, I started to create lots of shakers. I prefer foam tapes to make shaker card, but I prepared general clear plastic sleeve and fuse tool from We R Memory Keepers at this time. I fused plastic sleeve to A2 size firstly and put some clear sequins and fused again it following watercolor stripes of cover die. I adhered this shaker pouch between cover die and another watercolor panel using double sided tape. I then die cut 'hugs' words from white ca...

A Friends Parade

Hi folks, Norine here, with a fun critter card to share.  In the spirit of full disclosure, my original idea was different than the end result.  Some days that's just the way it goes and the sooner I accept that the card has different ideas from mine, the happier everyone will be! I stamped the four critters from two different Right at Home stamp sets, Deerest Friends and Friendly Fox , (and both sets are currently on sale in the store!) onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock, so that I could color with my Kuretake Zig brush markers, and the color would move and blend easily.   After stamping and coloring, I fussy cut each piece.  Next, I cut a 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" panel of cardstock, with the Die-Namics Pierced Rectangle die , and then sectioned it into sky and two layers of hills with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowdrifts die . I blended the color onto the hills (Mowed Lawn, Shabby Shutters and Pine Needles) and sky (Broken China and Faded Jean...
