Wishing You a Magical Day, featuring Avery Elle

Hello Butterfly Reflections Ink friends!  It's Jung here with you, and today I've got a magical card featuring Avery Elle's Be a Unicorn stamp set.  This stamp set is so cute!  My girls absolutely adore MLPony, so I know they both would love this card!   Here's how I created my card: I die cut a stitched rectangle panel from some white card stock.   I repeatedly stamped the unicorn stamp from Avery Elle's Be a Unicorn stamp set with Memento Tuxedo black ink.  I also stamped the little images, like the hearts and stars, on the unicorns' "hips." I colored the images and the background in with Copic markers .   I added some detail with a Gelly Roll white gel pen , and I also used the Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen on the horns and little images.   I attached the entire panel on a white card base with foam tape. On a piece of black card stock, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same Be a Unicorn stamp set

Panda Love

Hi there!   Audrey here!  Today I have a fun card to share with you using new stamps from WPlus9 called Friends For All Seasons: Spring .  I knew as soon as I saw these adorable pandas that I had to have them!! :) I started off my card by diecutting the rectangle from the Sunshine Layers die set from white card stock.  Then I used an ink blending tool and Wplus9 Falling Star ink to add a pale yellow glow to most of the panel.  Then I used Wplus9 Beanstalk ink to sponge grass for my little scene.  I used a stencil to add some sun rays to the pale yellow sky. Then I splattered some green ink on the grass area to add some texture.  I stamped, colored and diecutting the panda and flower images using the coordinating Friends For All Season: Spring dies .  I added some clouds to the sky too, using the Going Places stamps and dies.  I popped the panda up with foam tape, and mounted it on bright pink card stock and then diecut the scalloped frame from the Sunshine Layers die set from

Hello, Dahlia

Hello, my friends! Thank you for visiting today on my, Janette Kausen's , last post as a regular BRI design team member. As sad as I am that I will not be posting here regularly, I am excited to see what the newest design team members bring to the table. I have no doubt Vanessa chose team newbies with fresh bright perspectives. Yay, I can't wait! They will be announced in the next few days. Watch for their posts next week and show them some love! Now on to the goodness I have for you today... I watercolored this Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlias stamp by W Plus 9 after stamping in black ink and clear embossing on watercolor paper . I am by no means a master watercolorer, but when you have embossed outlines the project is simplified significantly.  I next stamped the "Hello" sentiment from the same Dahlia stamp set on vellum and added music notes from My Favorite Things Strike Up the Band stamp set .  I also added a few sporadic music notes around the flowe

Happy Mother's Day

Hello there, friends! It is officially my last post for Butterfly Reflections, Ink . I have thoroughly enjoyed creating inspiration for you, here. Today, I created a card for Mother's Day, using a lovely Winnie & Walter stamp set called In Bloom: Anna's Flora . I have used this set so many times, and it is surely a classic floral stamp set that everyone needs in there collection. I began by stamping a flower, leaves, and a sprig around the edges of the card. I chose the daisy, as it's my mom's favorite flower, and colored all of the images with Copic Markers. I then stamped the large Happy from The Big, the Bold, and Happy , using black ink in the center. I continued my sentiment below using Versamark ink, and gold embossing powder. I took all of the stamps I used, and stamped over my originally stamped images a bit offset using Versamark, and sprinkled gold powder over everything. I then heat set it, making sure to have pre heat my tool so it was

Flamingo Thanks

Good morning, crafty people! I created a super summery card today for my final card for my term on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team (sniff). I used these gorgeous Avery Elle Sentimental Elle-ments dies paired up with the darling My Favorite Things Flamingos . Super simple card but super bright and fun. So ready for SUMMER! Have a great day, friends! xo, Erin

So Tweet

Hey folks! I'm back today to share a super sweet and simple card with you all! This is my last post for the current Butterfly Reflections, Ink Design Team. It has truly been an honor being a part of this amazing company and team these last few months peeps! For my card today, I used the Winnie & Walter So Tweet Stamp Set . These lil birds are so stinkin cute, I can't even stand it! I kept these guys pretty simple. I stamped the, with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them in with Copic's . If I were to do this card again, I would stamp them in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat emboss them with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder . I think the lil bit of extra texture and dimension on the finished card would be groovy. I chose to color the ground in with Copic's as well, but I wanted to give the sky behind my lil chicks a more softer look, so I masked them off with Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper , then using a Ranger Ink Mini Blending Tool , I lightly b

Guest Designer Sunday with Sarah Jay!

Hello again and good morning! Today is our final day with the AMAZING Sarah Jay as Guest Designer with us! She is SOOOO talented! Be sure to leave her LOTS of love - I know I'm not the only one oooo-ing and ahhhh-ing over her coloring!! ___________________________________________ Hello, it's Sarah Jay again , back for my last post as a Guest Designer. When I saw MFT's new Cool Cat stamp set in the BRI shop, I knew it had to come home with me. I'm not embarrassed to tell you that I'm smitten with the kittens in Neko Atsume, a sweet mobile app that lets you collect cute virtual cats without becoming an actual cat lady, and some of these stamp images remind me of those cuties. For this card, I used one of my favorite techniques: paper piecing. When I cut a 6x6 sheet of patterned paper into a card front, there are always a few small pieces of patterned paper left. And I hoard them all. Because they're perfect for this technique. I covered my card base with

You Are Pretty Sweet

Happy Saturday friends!  Joann here today sharing a card that I made using some fabulous products from My Favorite Things ! Here is my card... I used the 2 smallest ovals from the MFT Stitched Oval Scallop Frames die set to cut my ovals from some grey card stock and took some vellum to layer behind them.  For my sentiment, I used the MFT So Much Love stamp set and stamped it using some Avery Elle Pigment inks. To finish my card I took an embossing folder to add a bit of texture to my top panel and scattered a few sequins to my card! Well that is all that I have for you today, I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Bye for Now! New Adventure Ahead!

Hello crafty friends! Amy ( The Craft Bunny ) here sharing my last card as the design team. My term has passed by so quickly! It's sad to say goodbye, but goodbye also means new adventure ahead. So, my card today is about adventures. I have used Create a Smile stamps to build a scene. Imagine yourself sipping tea in a flower garden. Beyond all the pretty flowers in sight, there is a hot air balloon embarking on a new journey. More details below. Prepare two pieces of watercolor paper . On the first paper, white heat emboss the flowers and leaves from the Magic Flower stamp set . Mask when necessary On the second paper, white emboss a few flowers and the hot air balloon (from the Uplifting set ) Paint the images with Gansai Tambi watercolor , then fussy cut out the flower cluster Create clouds with a stencil made from MFT Die-namics Stitched Cloud Edges Stamp the sentiment in brown, mount the flower cluster with foam tape and embellish with sequins It's be

Happy Purr-thday

Without fail they've included several "punny" sentiments, along with cutie kitties, a prissy kitty, fuzzy and fat cats. Don't we all have a cat lover friend or family member? No fret if you are a pup lover, MFT shows the them some love too with Lucky Dog . You Are Wonderful

Hello friends! Thanks so much for joining me here today for another card. It's hard to believe my time here is almost over! I have had such a great time, bringing you inspiration and promoting Vanessa's fabulous store! So, how about that card? I started with a white card stock panel, and die cut an oval from it, using the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops die set . I then traced a light pencil mark onto a white card base as a guide for my stamping, I flicked onto it, some black paint, and allowed it to dry while I did my stamping.  Using the Anemone stamp set from Jane's Doodles, I stamped two flowers, and a leaf within the pencil line markings on my card base, erased them, and colored in my images with Copic Markers. Here is a look at the colors I used to color the images. :) After the coloring was finished, I popped up the white panel, inserted a blacked die cut scallop from that same Avery Elle die set , and added a white heat embossed sentiment

Pink & Black Thanks.

So I have been in somewhat of a crafting rut lately, I will admit. It's not really so much a rut perhaps, but more of a "I have three kids and zero time to craft" problem. But when I made this card with some fun new BRI products, I realize I sure do love the hobby I'm in and really love these new MFT products I used for this card! Here are the products I used: Arrow Ends Background Stamp (SO much fun to play with!) Twice The Thanks Die-namics Hero Arts Neon Ombre Ink Pad  (my favorite currently) I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Create A Smile + No Line Coloring

Hey folks! Ok, so I tried something a lil different than what I'm used to with the card I'm sharing with you today. Gotta be honest, the jury is still out for me. I wanted to share it with you all anyway, because I really enjoyed the process and I certainly enjoyed the products! I knew I would be layering my images from the Create A Smile Crokisses Stamp Set so I made mask using Inkadinkdo Stamping Mask Paper . I tell ya folks, I am over the moon for Create A Smile stamps! Next, I stamped my images on Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper with Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Shaded Lilac . Also, instead of going with a traditional green for the "leaves" in the stamp set, I thought I would try something different and go with gray. So I stamped those with Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke . No Line Coloring isn't new to me. I LOVE this technique. Usually however, I will start with my lightist color and build up to the darkest. It's w

Mother's Day Dahlias

Good morning!   Jess  here with a cheery watercolored Mother's Day card using the new Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia stamp from WPlus9 and Mom+Me sentiments from Lawn Fawn! I started off by using my Mini Misti to stamp the Dahlia Bouquet twice on a piece of watercolor paper with versamark .  I offset it both times and used a larger section of the stamp for one side to give it more visual interest.  I heat-embossed it with Gold Tinsel embossing glitter and then it was time to color!  I used six Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush to color the flowers.  The larger flower is colored with Carmine Red and the smaller flowers are colored with a mix of Carmine Red and Dark Pink.  The larger leaves are colored with Green, the smaller leaves with May Green, and the background with very watered down Cobalt Blue.  For the leaves and flowers, I added pigment to the paper and blended it out with a waterbrush .  For the background I scribbled a marker on an acrylic block

Cat Nap Busted Layout

Hi there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a little layout all about how I found my littlest Mann and my hubs all snuggled up together for an afternoon nap! Ha! So adorable!! To start, I used some grey mist to add a watercolored/spritzed look to the edges of the layout. Then, I altered the tags from Pinkfresh Studio by adding more grey mist and silkscreening the phrases on with white paint! I literally added ALL THE SEQUINS , too! Ha ha!! I kid you not, when I say that I actually dumped out a bunch of piles on my layout and stuck them down! I love the big groups! I really like the grey and black sequins mixed with the bright and happy colors with the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Things puffy sticker sheet . I used some of the super awesome Pinkfresh Studio Felcity Phrase Stickers and then finished the layout with a flair button from the Becky Higgins' Project Life Explore line. A few splatters of white acrylic paint, and the layout is done! I hope you l

It's Seal-Abrate Time!

Hello friends! Amy ( The Craft Bunny ) here. Now that it's April, I hope you are enjoying Spring in your city. I am already looking forward to Summer :) My family used to go to a theme park similar to SeaWorld in the summer. It was always a very fun experience. Today, I have channeled my happy memory to create a seal card. The Seal-Abrate stamp set from Avery Elle is a small stamp set. I like this set very much because it is so affordable. However, small sets can be limiting when I build scenes. So, I combined it with MFT's Take the Stage Die-namics to make a simple performance scene. Below is my step-by-step: Die cut the stage pieces from white card stock. Blend with Antique Linen and Salty Ocean distress inks . Mount with foam tape. Blend some Pumice Stone at the bottom to make a ground. Add some water droplets Stamp the seal and his stand with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Color with Copic markers . Die cut out with coordinating dies . Mount with foam tape Die

You Are Amazing

Hello, hello! Lindsay here, sharing a floral card using a few older sets from Winnie & Walter! I know I have used it before, but the  In Bloom: Anna's Flora  set is one of my favorites. I started with a card stock panel, and stamped a cluster of images in the top corner. I masked off some of the flowers, to add leaves, and then I colored them in with Copic Markers. Using The Big, the Bold, and You stamp set, I stamped my sentiment in black ink, and added strips of gold glitter paper, and black card stock to the side. I then adhered the panel to a white card base. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you give your older stamp sets some love! Have a crafty day!

Skater girl Birthday

Hey guys! ACK! I can't handle the adorableness of this cute skater girl by Avery Elle. I love her spunky cute self. You can find her in the Skating By set . My only mistake was not getting the coordinating dies. What was I thinking???? Dumb me! LOL. Have a great day, kids!
