I Shell Always Love You Card

Hi there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card using the adorable turtles from Paperie Ink ! This stamp set, Water You Up To , is just the cutest! Especially that upside-down turtle! LOL Ha - so cute! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out! I used various shades of greens and teals to color the tiny turtles, so they weren't all the same shades. For the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Salvaged Patina , Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch . First, I ink blended them on one corner, then I added the same colors with watercolor over the ink blended area. And once that was all dry, I used the Vicki Boutin Stencil to add the super cool waves with the same colors and more ink blending! Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment, and finished off the card with those super amazing bubbles with a mix of 6mm and 4mm Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh . Be sure to gab all your favorite products from the Butterfly R...

Some Bunny Loves You - VIDEO - Avery Elle Watercoloring

Hello there! Ashlea here and I'm excited to give you a little holiday break and show you some adorable new Avery Elle. I can't get enough of this mini Some Bunny set and think it would be great for birthdays and baby showers as well. Theres also coordinating dies available and I love the fact that a smaller set  can give you so many options! I decided to pull out my Inktense pencils for this card and I had such a great time using them! Here's a video showing the steps I took: I also love that by changing the color of the balloon you can easily make a masculine/boy birthday or baby shower card.  The fun thing about Inktense pencils is that it's simple and quick. There is a bit of a learning curve, but there's no mixing required and if you use these water pens , you won't even need cups of water. I'm a little clumsy and tend to spill EVERYTHING, so this is good news for me! I also plan to make a shaker card using this set with the...

Congratulations card using Avery Elle stamps

Hello everyone! Alexandra here today sharing a floral card , yes you read it right floral :)) after all those cute critters card I thought it was time to chance things a bit! :) When comes to floral cards I got to be honest and say I kinda struggle! I find flowers pretty hard to color using my alcohol markers and watercoloring is still not something that I am good at , but well I challenge myself to pick this gorgeous stamp set from  Magnolia Stamp  from Avery Elle and stamp it onto Canson Mix Media paper using Distress Ink Antique linen. Next I took my Winsor&Newton watercolors and started coloring the flower adding first light color and then adding more layers of color and always letting the layers dry in between . Once the flower was done I added a bit of color to the background and also added some splatters of color. Lastly I added the sentiment using Versa Mark ink and gold embossing powder . Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great day!

No Line Watercoloring - MFT Poppies

Hello everyone! It's Ashlea here, and I'm thrilled to be sharing my first project as part of the Butterfly Reflections Ink design team. For my first post I decided to try a technique I have never tried before. Makes sense, right? Great! As soon as I saw the Painted Poppies set by My Favorite Things , I knew I would finally try the amazing, beautiful, dreaded no-line watercoloring technique. Of course I've watched endless video on the subject and repeated "you can do it!" to myself but until I saw these poppies, I never really felt the *need* to try. These images have such a fun, whimsical design that lends itself so well to this technique and I'd love to tell you how I achieved the look. For starters, I knew I wanted to make the watercoloring itself a bit easier for me since, well, I'm not really great at watercoloring. "What are you doing here?" I can almost hear you saying. Let's move on. I cut a piece of watercolor card s...

Messy Watercoloring

Hey everyone! Kelli here again sharing this card I made with watercolors and this super cute Altenew Blooming Bouquet Stamp Set . All I did to make this card is just messy watercolor it up and put it on the card base with some foam tape! Leave me a comment to let me know what you think!

Pinkfresh Studios Christmas in August!

Hi everyone! Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today. Now I know, it's normally Christmas in July, but I just recently got some of the cutest sets from  Pinkfresh Studios  and I just have to share them. I mean, it's never too early for cardmakers to get started on Christmas cards, right!? For my first Christmas card of the season, I used  Pinkfresh Studio's   Merry and Bright Toy Shop Stamp Set  and the coordinating  Merry and Bright Toy Shop Die.  This die creates an adorable store front in which you can place all of the wonderful elements from the stamp set. It also leaves you with a great space for a bold sentiment, also included in the stamp set. Before die cutting, I inked up a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white card stock with  Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink  using a  Mini Ink Blending Tool  over the entire panel. After die cutting the  Merry and Bright Toy Shop Die , I used a  Detaile...

Waving Hello Shaker card

Happy Saturday! Alix here showing you an adorable card I made for today. I feel great to be back as a blog guest. I hope you will have great time with me as I going through a few steps to make this card. I started off Copic coloring all stamped images from  Pretty Pink Posh Birdie Sea Friends Stamp set . Once they are colored and you could use coordinating dies to cut them out or hand fussy cut like I did. To create the background, I used 1.5 wide watercolor brush applying two shades of watercolor paints in blue onto a piece of  Tim Holtz Distress watercolor paper. To create the shaker window, I cut the panel using  Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Die  out of a piece of Woodgrain Cardstock paper .  then I used  Lawn Fawn Large stitched Rectangle Die  to cut the inner window.  I glued a piece of acetate paper underneath. Before I close up the window, I poured some  Pretty Pink Posh 3mm Sparkling clear sequins...
