Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Hello there!  It's Andrea Shell with you today.  It's been a long time since I've guest-designed on the BRI blog, but it's always such a pleasure.  My favorite part is being able to combine products from multiple companies, as I've done on today's card.  Speaking of my card, it was completely inspired by the gorgeous December Mood Board (It will be revealed tomorrow, but I'm giving you a little sneaky peek).  I just love the colors and the wintry feel of the board! When I saw Concord & 9th's Tiny Trees Turnabout stamp, I immediately fell in love with it!  It makes it so easy to create fabulous backgrounds for your holiday projects.  To help with placement, I used my MISTI and Concord & 9th's Original Turnabout Jig .   I stamped the first three layers in dye inks and then silver heat-embossed the final layer.  Once I was finished stamping, I trimmed down the panel, matted it with navy cardstock, and adhered the piece to a white card. Happy Monday, crafty friends! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and are now ready to crank up the Christmas cheer!  Today I'm sharing an interactive card featuring Lawn Fawn's Flippy Flappy and Cheery Christmas . I also added the cute puppy from Furry and Bright because he wanted to help his squirrel friend decorate the tree. I colored the stamped images with Copic markers (listed below) and used Lawn Fawn jalapeno ink for the tree.  To create the cardbase panel and the background, I used Lawn Fawn paper from the Snow Day collection . For the snowy background, I darkened the edges with evergreen bough Distress ink ( Distress oxide works too). I cut a snowy hill using the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders  and stamped the sentiment.  I know interactive cards can seem intimidating to assemble but the Flippy Flappy is super easy and it makes such a fun way to present a gift card! Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the November BRI Mood Board Challenge . This is a perfect palette for Fall cards and I really love those colors. But, since I am in a more “Christmas mood”, I challenged myself to create something different and use this color combo for a Christmas card…and this is the result!  I love those “Caroling Critters” from Pretty Pink Posh , they are so sweet! I stamped them on a piece of Lawn Fawn Fog cardstock , it’s a light cold grey perfect for my background and then I colored everything with copics. I also hand drew the street lamp on the right, I wanted a cozy scene. Since it is a light colored cardstock, the copic colors are really similar to “reality”, but in this way I didn’t have to add the sky. I only used a darker grey at the bottom, to create the contrast for the bushes. I used a white UNI POSCA pen to create the snow ground and I also added some white snow in the sky.  Hi there everyone!  Linda  here today on the Butterfly Reflections ink blog with a fun new card! I created an adorable slimline card for today, using the gorgeous  Christmas Critters  stamp set from Avery Elle! For this card I used a slimline card base from white cardstock and then added a front panel, which I diecutted with a slimline stitched rectangle die. I love the stitched borders on a card! I then blended a fun background, using one of my favorite color schemes! Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar! All Distress Oxide inks from Ranger.  I kept the bottom clean by masking this part with masking tape. I added loads of white splatters to create a fun snow look! I then removed my masking tape and started stamping all the fun critter images, fussy cutted them and added them on to my card. Happy Holidays! Hello everyone! Here Laura, today I show you this Christmas card made with the " Gingerbread cookies " stamps of Mama Elephant . You can find it in the Butterflyreflectionink store 😉 To start with, I stamped the Gingerbread with " Detail black hybrid ink pad " and then painted it with Copic markers . For the background I used the  distress oxide inks  " tumbled glass " and " gathered twigs " that you can also find in the  Butterflyreflectionink shop ! ☺️  Then i cut the sentiment " Big merry and brigth crestive cuts " in red metallic cardstock. And finally I prepared the composition and glued all the pieces with Flitter Glu to make the result more durable! 😉  I hope you like it!   Hello Crafty Friends! Stephanie here with a glittery Christmas card! I'm so happy that Christmas is right around the corner and I get to make more Christmas cards.  I started by using the Lawn Fawn's Simple Stripes Portrait on black cardstock and DCWV Glitter Metallic gold glitter paper. I alternated them glued them to an A2 sized cardstock card base. I then stamped and embossed "Merry Christmas" with Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Lawn Fawn Offset Sayings Christmas stamp set.  I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Poinsettia with Chili Pepper , Noble Fir and Sticky Note Lawn Fawn cardstock. Hello crafty friends! I'm so excited that it's Thanksgiving week (here in the USA) because there is much to be thankful for despite these crazy times. One thing I am thankful for is the crafting community and how encouraging everyone is 😊 Y'all rock!  Today I'm sharing this card featuring the Mama Elephant Me and My Dragon set . I've seen other cardmakers create northern lights backgrounds and wanted to give it a try because I thought that would make a great background for the cute dragon. Let's just say that I am thankful that I was attempting these northern lights on paper and not tattooing someone because my attempts looked like a hot mess. Fortunately I could just throw away the paper, haha! I still need to practice more and will definitely be attempting this again.  I used Distress oxides ( twisted citron , salvaged patina , seedless preserves ) and small, thin blending brushes to create the light ribbons.  Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog to share a card with you!  My husband celebrated his birthday recently, and I wanted to make him a card with some personalization specific to him. So, I used lots of Lawn Fawn supplies to make a card featuring our three pets! I started by watercolouring the background piece using Distress Oxide inks in Chipped Sapphire , Prize Ribbon , Broken China and Tumbled Glass . I smooshed some ink from each pad onto my work surface and sprayed them with water, and then just pressed the cardstock into the wet ink. I dried the panel using my heat tool, and then repeated this a few more times to get layers of colour. Ink smooshing is one of my favorite tried-and-true techniques for getting an easy watercoloured background! Next I did some die-cutting: first, I die-cut a piece of kraft cardstock (I used Neenah Desert Storm) with the Lawn Fawn Fall Leaves Backdrop die . I brushed some Vintage Photo Dist

Hello crafty friends. Davina here with some November BRI Moodboard color inspiration. I really wanted to create a Christmas card using these bold fall colors, and with the help of the recent Reverse Confetti release, I’m excited to share my project.  I didn’t hesitate to purchase the new  Adore Him  stamps and die set when it became available. I love the illustrations and the simplicity of the images. It’s very rare that I create a card using only one stamp set and this is one of those times.  I looked though my stash of R.C. Cover panels and was excited to find the oldie but goodie  Sunburst Cover Panel  confetti cut. I thought the rays would be a perfect background for an inky background. I inked up a muted ocean blue piece of cardstock with  Speckled Egg  and  Iced Spruce  distress oxide ink then splattered with gold and white ink.  Hello, Friends! It's Allison here, and I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today. I am sharing this cute slimline card featuring some of the Peek-a-Boo animals from Avery Elle . Everything used on this card can be found in the online shop . This card was really fun to make and pretty straightforward. I started with a panel of white card stock and blended Distress Oxide Inks in the following colors: Prize Ribbon, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot. I created the snowy background with a white gel pen. I then cut a panel of white card stock using the Slimline Stitched Square Trio Die-namics from My Favorite Things .  I stamped three of the animals from the Polar Bear Peek-a-Boo Pals stamp set, colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I did use masking to stamp the scarf on the bear instead of having the scarf be a separate element.  I trimmed the window panel down so that it was even on all sides, and then I created a blue slimline card b

Hi there crafters!  Linda  here today sharing a fun winter card with you all! This card was created with the amazing  Warm Hugs  stamp set from Heffy Doodle!  I started this card with a white card base in A2 size and then added a front panel, which I diecutted with a stitched rectangle die, which gives such nice borders! I then started working on a fun background for these cold cuties! I started with stamping the mountains, which are from the  Highland Honeys  stamp set. I then added the water, which I drew on my card, then stamped the water hole with the small fish in there and then masked this items all to blend a fun background.  I used all different colours of blue to create the sky, the ice and the water. I used  Black Soot ,  Chipped Sapphire ,  Blueprint Sketch ,  Mermaid Lagoon  and  Tumbled Glass  Distress Oxide ink from Ranger. I then added loads of splatters to my sky and removed the masking paper. I then stamped, fussy cutted and coloured all the amazing images from the set

Then i used the Year seven lawn cut to cut it. For the background I used a stitched die that i painted with distress oxide inks " carved pumpkin ", " twisted Citron ", " cracked pistachio ", " salvaged patina " and " shaded lilac " that you can also find in the Butterflyreflectionink shop ! ☺️  And finally I prepared the composition and glued all the pieces with Flitter Glu to make the result more durable! 😉  I hope you like it! Hi Crafty Friends! Stephanie here with some teacher appreciation cards. My son asked me to make cards for all of his teachers, not just his two main classroom teachers. So I knew I'd better make some simpler cards so I could get them all done in time.  I started by cutting 110lb. white cardstock to 3.25 x 6.5 and scored it in the middle to make a square card. I added just a little color in the middle with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and added some splatters with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide .  I then stamped and die cut the cute little mice and leaves from the Lawn Fawn You Autumn Know stamp set. I centered them in the middle of the card. I then stamped the sentiment in Jet Black Lawn Fawn ink. To finish off the card, I die cut Stitched Scalloped Square Frames in different Lawn Fawn patterned paper.  I hope I've given you some great ideas for Teacher Appreciation Cards! Hello there crafty friends! I love penguins and oh my-lanta, this Kebin the Penguin stamp set by Paperie Ink is just the cutest! Just look at his squishy face! I just had to feature him in this interactive card. I stamped and colored the images with Copic markers (listed below) and fussy cut them out. For the penguin with the hat, I added flocking with the quickie glue pen . Have you used flocking before? You should definitely try it! It makes things fuzzy! I want to flock all the things now. Next, I cut out the panels and interactive mechanism using Mama Elephant's Mega Flipper dies . (Don't be fooled by this interactive card-- it is super easy to make and lots of fun to receive! How to video here at 13:02) To create the background, I used the emboss resist technique with clear embossing powder and Distress Inks (peacock feathers, salvaged patina , tumbled glass). I stamped the snow image from Lawn Fawn's Window Scene: Winter and heat embossed it before ink blending.
