"You make me SMILE"

Hi there, Joann here with another card inspiration! I came across the MFT Die-namics Lightbulb and I wanted to create something a little different! I literally stared at the lightbulb die and saw a hot air balloon...lol! Now if someone else has shared this, I'm sorry...but honestly I have not seen it used this way! So, here it is... I took my craft knife and created the open gap between the balloon and basket. Now don't judge my copic coloring, this is my second attempt and first time showing it to the world...lol! I had originally used 3 different colors (E11, E13, E15) but then I added E18 to add a little depth. For my balloon, I used a Jenni Bowlin chevron stencil with my distress inks . Now this is where I smiled...I've had some fabric thickers that I have never used, why you ask, because the inks I own never seemed to dye them right. Well I have a solution, Avery Elle pigment inks are just fabulous for this. The color goes on and stays on perfectly. I lov...

#Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone!  I got this really fun Avery Elle Smile stamp on my DT package and already had the opportunity to use it on a layout.  I thought it would also look really great water colored, so I decided to make a card too.   First, I stamped the image on Tim Holtz water color paper with archival ink.  I wanted the camera to look kind of similar to the instagram camera, so I used two brown distress markers to color directly on to the image and then I used a paint brush to spread the color around.   Since the image only has three lines creating the stripes below the lens, I hand drew one more so I could color all four colors that are on an instagram camera.       For my sentiment, I added the #happybirthday from the same set. I just love the way this card turned out!      See you next week! --Nicole

More than Meets the Eye

Hello, Butterfly Reflections, Ink friends! Today I am showing how versatile crafting products can be! Vanessa sent me some fun Simple Stories SN@P product and I have to admit, I was stumped. I am mainly a card-maker. I have created a few scrapbook layouts, but have NO experience with mini albums or similar projects.  So I started off with staring at the Simple Stories's I Heart Summer Pages trying decide if I should tackle the albums or try something different. After a few days, I decided that the individual pages would make a great addition to a layout.  **Sorry about not including a picture. I am indecisive when it comes to making a scrapbook page. It normally takes me a handful of days to finish one from start to finish. I am a beginner when it comes to this craft. So needless to say, it will probably take me a few more days to pick what picture I want to use. I used two of the summer pages on the layout. To make the die cutout cloud POP...

Avery Elle Inks "Birthday Card"

Hi! It's Joann sharing a card with you today! I bought all 15 Avery Elle ink pads from the store and as soon as I received them I haven't stopped stamping...lol! Let me tell you the colors are just fabulous, honestly there is not one color that I didn't like! They are truly some awesome pigment ink, though they do take a little more time to dry, but so worth the wait! I kept today's card simple but yet a little elegant. I started by choosing 3 colors that I thought would go great together, I chose Pixie, Sea Glass and Fog . Here's my card... For my sentiment I used a stamp set from MFT -Birthday Sentiments and Avery Elle Oh Happy Day for my flowers. This card came together really fast and I was super happy with the results! Thanks again for taking time out of your busy day to stop by this awesome blog! See you guys next week, have a fabulous day! A fun Summer Mini Album

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is head over to the beach.  We stayed in Siesta Key for the weekend and caught up with some family and friends that were in town visiting from NY.  When Vanessa sent me the Good Day Sunshine Instasquares , this trip would be the perfect time to use them.  I also used a few items from the I Heart Summer collection that Vanessa also has some of in her store. Above is everything I used in the album from the butterflyreflectionsink store. I used almost the entire pack of enamel dots.  They added so much color and focus to each page.  I like that it always made consistency all the way through the album. Below, I stamped directly on my photo using Staz-on ink.  It's a good way to "journal" or add a sentiment without taking up much room on the page. This was a good opportunity to use more of the Chic Tag wood veneers . I thought adding brads on the polka dot page below m...

Fussy-cutting with My Mind's Eye

Today I am excited to share my latest card created for my Butterfly Reflections, Ink design team assignment! I think it is easy to state that My Mind's Eye is my favorite paper company! It seems like I am always drawn to their collections! So I was super excited to come across the My Mind's Eye section in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink's store! You can check out the section  HERE . The collection I used on the card below is My Mind's Eye's Now & Then "Mildred" : Now, as I stated last week, I am addicted to 6x6 paper pads! (Don't forget to check out the PAPER section in the store! There is an amazing selection available!) Any who... One of the reasons I like the paper pads is because it usually includes a pattern that can be fussy-cut. Such as the print pictured below. I decided to cut out a few of the flowers to use on this card. Not knowing exactly what I was going to do, I cut out a number of different flowers/leaves. ...

Embossing Paste

It's Shawna today, back with another layout. I have a 12x12 for you today using the Fancy Pants Me-ology papers.  This collection is fun and bright and perfect for my daughters school themed page.  I decided to add something i had not tried yet which was embossing paste.  I had tried something similar and decided i needed to try the gold paste in the shop.  I love the dimension it gave and i just love gold accents. I used a stencil to create some clouds and used pop dots for even more dimension on the page.  Before the paste was dry i pushed in some wood veneer hearts. I used a name tag and school i.d. on the page as this was her last year at this school before we move. I think these went well with the layered effect of the layout which i love. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have enjoy my layout. Please check out these great products in the store! Me-Ology 6x6 pad Me-Ology die cuts Me-Ology Flair Gold Embossing Paste ...

Welcome to my new DT!

Well, this is a tad bit late, but better late than never, right? That's what my mom always said anyways! I hope the girls realize this has nothing to do with how awesome they are or how excited I am to have them. This month has just been crazy busy, starting with going on a week long vacation from the end of June through July 6th, orders from while I was away, a trip to the lake for my nana's 90th birthday, work, trying to keep the kids from killing each other (ughhh), hounding my oldest to get a job (haha), house stuff and so on. I'm sure you ALL know how it goes! This might be a little lengthy because I'm introducing everyone in one post, but please welcome... Danielle Pandeline! Danielle lives in sunny Florida with her hubby and fur babies. She has a Bachelor's degree in photography which turned her on to scrapbooking. Danielle's also a super cute card maker and has served on the Sweet Stamp Shop and Newton's Nook Design Teams as well as hosting crops a...

Life is an Adventure

Hi everyone!! Danielle here today from GirlRacerScrap with a fun and simple card. I really wanted to use the Studio Calico Wanderlust Transparencies in a different way rather then in Pocket Scrapbooking.  I thought this saying went really well with the Spiffy Scooters set from Paper Smooches. *Plus we all know I love my scooters* For the scooter I Paper Pieced it using Lawn Fawn - Let's Polka 6 x 6 Paper Pack . BTW, these pads are getting hard to find and Vanessa has them in the store!!!  Then, I topped the card of with the Remember to Explore sticker from Fancy Pants Designs  to finish it off.   You can see below this is a PERFECT opportunity for the KOOL TAK adhesive!!!  It works great with transparencies and adds a bit of dimension to your project.  Regular foam squares are on the scooter for a comparison.  You can find the supplies I used below in the Butterfly Reflections Ink Online Store!!!
