Naughty or Nice?

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you've been good this year, because Santa has started handing out some official looking stationery letting you know if you've made the Nice List or not!  

Maybe not, but it's fun to pretend, right? 

These little "certificates" were so fun to create, because it allowed me to personalize them for my kiddos. I know, they're only two, but one day they will understand how cool their mom was for making their nice-ness official and all. :)

I started out by cutting some white card stock down to 4-bar size (3.5x5 inches). I then used my envelope punch board (you could use a score board for this, as well) to create my envelopes with some patterned paper. I liked the fact that one side was white, so I could add some stamping to the flaps if I wanted to. Instead of adhering everything together like I normally would, I simply scored the envelopes, folded, and set them aside.

To create the certificate, I used the Avery Elle Naughty or Nice stamp set. I did use a few older Avery Elle sets for the "Way to Go" and the alphabet set for their names, but you could easily use stamps from another set, including THIS alpha, to personalize it and make it truly special for your child. I heat embossed Santa's signature with gold embossing powder to add to the magic. The gold details, including Santa's sleigh, were stamped with Delicata gold ink to add some sparkle. I adhered the "certificate" inside the main panel of the envelope, then folded everything up.

The belly bands were made by cutting a strip of cardstock 1 3/4x11 inches wide, then wrapping it around. Now, if you are using thicker card stock, you will want to score to get a nice crease. I die cut a tag (not sure where it's from, but it was the right size!) and stamped the little details, including their names again. I adhered the tag to where the ends of the belly band flaps overlapped to cover it up.
