The only part of Mondays I like is this part, sharing my projects with YOU!! I guess it's one of those "little things" I enjoy. How was that for an introduction??! hahaha :)
Todays card features a stamp set from Newton's Nook called Happy Little Thoughts. This set is SO sweet! It's full of wreath images, flowers, leaves and sentiments in the most beautiful fonts!! What's also great about it, is it has Co-ordinating Dies!!! I'm a huge fan of co-ordinating dies..another one of those "little things".
I used the most floral wreath in the set and stamped in onto to some smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The images are fairly small, so only one color of marker is necessary to color. I never really have a plan in my head when it comes to my cards, I usually will focus on the main image and start from there (which is why most of the time, I never have room for a sentiment!)
After I die cut the wreath, I sat and looked at it for awhile, trying to decide what to do next. When I'm stumped, I look through my dies, they usually steer me in some sort of direction.
For this project, the Blueprints #15 Die-namics from MFT caught my eye. This set has a couple of wonky panels, a heart, a star, a dual stitched circle and a couple of banners. It's great! I ended up using the circle and the large wonky panel dies.

What was perfect about this set was the circle!! It fit the sentiment perfectly!!! I die cut the circle out of the white panel, laid it on the card base and heat embossed the sentiment through the circle using White embossing powder. I thought the white panel looked a little dull so I used a Triangle Embossing Folder from WeRMemory Keepers. This is a set of two folders, I used the one with the smaller triangles.
I adhered the now embossed panel directly to the card base and foam mounted the wreath to surround the sentiment. I added a few stamped and die cut leaves to fill out the image a little more. To finish it off, the Enjoy the Little Things set has tiny hearts in it, I didn't stamp them, just die cut them to make some embellishments. And those hearts were lonely so I had to add some white dots with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White (love these drops!)
I hope you enjoyed my card for today!! I hope you also got a chance to do some shopping at the shop this weekend!! Vanessa still has a super deal going on right now but it ENDS TODAY!!!!
Until next time....
Laurie
Such a fun and sweet card!
