Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! Can you believe it's over??? Time sure does fly. Speaking of time flying by, today is a sad day for me because this will be my last official post as a design team member for Butterfly Reflections :(. The last four months have been awesome to say the least. And I was really in denial up until this exact moment, that my term was over. I am so grateful that Vanessa took a chance on me. Being a part of this group was amazing in every way!
For my project today, I thought it would be fitting to make a thank you card. I started by gold heat embossing the flower image from the Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia set from WPlus9. I stamped it repeatedly and moved the stamp around to be able to fill my entire card panel. The Misti worked great for this!

I stamped it repeatedly and moved the stamp around to be able to fill my entire card panel. The Misti worked great for this!
I used my Tombow markers to watercolour the panel, as I seem to be addicted to those markers lately. I knew I wanted the center image to be full of color so I started there. The other images, I watercolored with a fairly dark grey and in the "white" space I used a lighter grey.
The above photo has one layer of color. I added a second layer to brighten up the focal flowers.
I cut this panel down using the largest die from the Blueprints #15 Die-namics set from MFT. This die is almost the size of a card front so it leaves about an 1/8th of an inch border all the way around. I also cut the stitched banner and heart that is also in this set. I used the same Watercolour Paper as I used for the base, so everything would match.
I chose a sentiment from the Essential Sentiments set from MFT...must have set, by the way!! I gold heat embossed this as well, onto the banner. I swiped my Versamark around the outside of the heart and applied the Gold Embossing Powder to it.
To finish, I used foam adhesive to adhere my panel to the cardbase as well as the sentiment strip. I added some sparkle using the Clear Wink of Stella pen. Here is the finished card:
Thank you again, Vanessa, for being the person that you are and for allowing me to work beside some of the most talented ladies in the "biz". And thank you to all of you for the support you've shown me in these past four months, it's appreciated more than you know!!
CHEERS TO A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Laurie
